Super tasty food and as of Feb 1st the whole menu is gluten free. We ate fried oysters and okonomiyaki and I didn't get a reaction. I still felt dubious about whether everything really was gluten free so make sure to double check!!

Despite the food is good, the place is definitely not safe for those with celiac due to cc: same fryer and same utensils are being used for both gluten-containing (noodles) and gluten-free meal preparation.

This is a great little place for Japanese food and the okonomiyaki was delicious! Glad to have been able to try out gluten free okonomiyaki but I do not feel comfortable recommending this for the celiacs in this group as I sat next to the kitchen and saw the same equipment used for my food as well. I felt fine after though; I’m intolerant and not celiac. Also, we were told that some of the items marked as gluten free like the kimchi actually had some gluten in it. I was glad they were upfront about it but also didn’t like the fact it was listed as gluten free in the menu. Overall, food was good but just FYI for the celiacs here.

Walked in on a Monday at 6 pm with four people and nothing was available without a reservation for the rest of the day. Might want to call ahead.
We had the most amazing rice/meat and rice/fish pancakes. Have no idea what is in them but they were delicious! It was wonderful to eat such a carefully prepared meal. As a Celiac I appreciate great gluten free food. The staff was friendly and very helpful!!

Came here yesterday for the Okonomiyaki and got it to go. Chef and staff were very nice, gave us glasses of water while we waited. The okonomiyaki was sooo good! So tasty and the sauce ontop is so flavorful. Price is very reasonable, will definitely try and come back again - great service and amazing food. I did not get sick either.

Wow!!! Such an amazing place. The okonomiaki was soooo delicious, you have to try it! The place was super small and cozy and the chef was really nice. There was like 2 gf options(although here I see comments of dishes we didn’t saw in the menu) but both of them was amazing.

Went for an early dinner around 4pm. The place was empty so we easily got a seat. Asked for gluten free and the chef opened the page to okonomiyaki. There was a two page section on the dried bean curd skin okonomiyaki so I opted for that since it seemed to be unique to Kyoto. It was stuffed with cabbage, egg, shrimp and ginger; a soy milk sauce was poured on top at the end. Even though there was a generous portion, it was light, and I didn’t feel stuffed after eating it. Would highly recommend coming here for gf okonomiyaki.

Incredible gluten free okonomoyaki. Even my non-coeliac colleague took it and thought it was better than other okonomoyakis he ate before. I really appreciated that the chef cleaned the grill so there would be no cross-contamination (he was cooking in front of me, so I could be sure it was the case). Highly recommended

Excellent gluten free okonomiyaki. They have a gluten free menu section. Some possible slight cross contamination from the grill, but it looked clean.

This was one of the best meals I had in Japan! Highly recommend for anyone who is bummed about missing out on more authentic Japanese cuisine! I ordered the squid ball okonomiyaki and then the oyster ball one. The chef is super friendly and familiar with allergens, and caught me when I tried to order kimchi (no, it has some flour). The grill does present some risk of cross-contamination, but it is very clean. My belly has never felt happier. Don't miss this place!
