If you have an allergy or celiac, STAY AWAY
I checked with three different staff members and it’s just flat out not possible to cook a burger at this location on a clean surface away from the buns. If you have anything more than an intolerance, stay away from the burgers.
The worst, though, is they put partner’s burger ON TOP of my fries in the bag (yes, even after all that asking about allergies). Not safe here.
The staff was very friendly, there’s just nothing they can do to make the food safe.
Order "protein style" to get it wrapped in lettuce
We kept hearing about this place and how "good" it is and were surprised to see it on this app. We decided to try it for dinner and they were able to make the burgers without the bum and the fries are the only thing that is fried in the fryer so we were good with that. However the lettuce used to make the "wrapped" burger made it even more watery with the sauces and quite the mess. Overall taste was mediocre. Good place if short on time.
Had a few too many drinks at the bowling alley next door and came here desperate for animal style fries after. One of the best drunken experiences of my life. As a Californian celiac I will always plug In-n-Out - standardized procedures, detailed allergen menu online, I would go so far as to say possibly the most celiac-friendly burger chain out there!
Busy location, got my burger “protein style” aka lettuce wrapped! Had the burger and fries with no problem.
Usually fine, we have had a few problems in the past with cross contamination. The issue happens at the end during packing or putting it on the tray, not during the cooking process.
First time here and it was amazing!! ordered it protein and animal style!
Had a protein option burger (lettuce wrap) and it was delicious! And the fries are also Gluten free!
Went at a super busy time (always dangerous) but didn’t get glutened. Allergy was printed on my receipt. Fries are in a dedicated fryer and were delicious. Not super good for dairy-free - I usually just deal with it and eat the cheese anyway, but I’m guessing you could ask them to hold it too.
I was getting 3 meals for a sit down lunch, only one with allergies. I ordered mine last, told them I have allergies to wheat, egg, and dairy, then ordered my double protein style with nothing but meat and lettuce (can't stand onions), and fries. The allergies were listed on the receipt, and the cashier yelled out, "Allergy order, coming back!" The other two, with their wheat buns, were on a tray. Mine was on a separate tray, fries included. I wasn't watching closely to see what all safety measures they took, but gloves were changed before they handled my food. I had no issues with bringing in my vegan cheese and my own ketchup (I don't trust people to not put it directly on a bun), and had absolutely NO allergic reaction. I go into anaphylaxis within 10 minutes of cross contamination, so it would be VERY obvious. Overall, very happy that I have a restaurant I can go to when out and about in Mesa.
