Order "protein style" to get it wrapped in lettuce
If you order a Protein Style Burger (has no bun because it’s wrapped in lettuce) it is gluten free but make sure you say you have celiac disease when you order. I trust the fries, shakes, and drinks there. I’m the most sensitive person to Gluten and have been Celiac for about a year now and this IN-N-OUT will not cross contaminate you.
We love In-N-Out. It is the only fast food that we find as GF. We obsessively repeat "wheat allergie" with every item. In this location, when I said "wheat allergie" they corrected me to gluten allergy. Nice! Took the order and shouted to the kitchen that a gluten sensitivity order is coming. I wish more fast food chains were this awesome!
It kind of depends on how sensitive you are and who's working the fries. Technically speaking, you should be fine with a lettuce wrapped burger and an order of their delicious fries. However, sometimes I'll have a slight reaction to the fries, and sometimes I won't. If you go here, make it very clear that you are gluten free, and hope for the best!
I’ve gotten animal fries here a bunch of times with no issues. When ordering tell them to mark it as a gluten allergy. They know to change gloves and not touch/cross contaminate with gluten.
I have not tried the burgers lettuce wrapped because there is a huge risk of cross contact/contamination for burger.
Visited twice with no gluten reaction. They claim everything in the restaurant is gf except for the buns. They offer burgers protein style substituting lettuce for the bun. Self serve endless refill soft drinks. Fast food chain but better burgers than others. The fries are also gf.
This is the only restaurant I have eaten at regularly and not had any issues. Tell them you have a gluten allergy, they will prepare your burger in a separate spot and serve it in its own basket. Everything in the restaurant is gluten free except for the bun. So eat those fries, dip them in spread, enjoy that delicious burger even if it is in a lettuce wrap.
