The staff was very knowledgeable and open about options. Cross contamination potential but I felt comfortable. Got the naked burger salad, it was delicious
Lots of options! Staff was knowledgeable and catered to my wife's gluten and soy allergy. Kid friendly too! Great place will return.
Iron hill is a go-to favorite of mine. They have a separate menu for gluten free, separate cooking/prep area, and the food is always great. I have always had great service as well. I usually get a salmon entrée or a salad but they have burgers as well! I would highly recommend!
Last night was my 3rd time at Iron Hill Brewery. I had the chicken Caesar salad and have a definite gluten reaction :( I have not previously reacted so assume there was cross contamination in the kitchen. Seriously disappointing
Very good gluten-free menu. Just a FYI that they cannot guarantee cross contamination. The flank steak salad was delicious. They have one gluten free beer and one gluten removed beer. I would not suggest the gluten removed beer because many Celiacs still get sick from it. There is an extensive wine by the glass list and drinks as well:)
Diverse gluten free menu. I had beef stroganoff served over mashed potatoes and it was fabulous. Waitress was nice and very accommodating. It was obvious they understood what gluten free meant, and their gluten free selections were varied enough that you could meet other dietary concerns as well.
Had an awesome dinner and the staff understood what gluten was which is really a plus!
extremely accommodating . staff was well educated about taking precautions on allergies due to my gastroparesis.
Food was very good. We had burgers. Knowledgeable of celiac disease and gluten free. Service was slow. No water for the table. Very expensive. $13-$16 for a burger!
Terrific food and service. The only downside is the price, but you get what you pay for.
Extensive gf menu and well-trained staff. We'll be going again!
I asked for the gluten free menu and they said they did not have one! I asked for the black bean burger with no bun and they brought it out on a bun.
Eaten here several times - tasty barbecue and burgers I don't recall it being that expensive, but I don't drink.
I really want to like this place. Having been there a few times in the last months I can say the GF menu is excellent and the food very good. However less eye-rolls from the staff when I say I have a gluten allergy would be awesome. Also, you would think a craft beer establishment could do better with their GF options than red bridge and omission (which isnt even gluten free!)
We frequent Iron Hill with our little Celiac kids and they have not been glutened during any trip. The waitstaff is also patient and willing to work with us. One time they replaced J's burger where she thought it looked weird (you know how kids can be).
things have changed with Iron Hill Brewery! We had been eating there for years. Unfortunately no longer! When discussing safety for Celiac's at this location. we were told r not safe due to shared workspace etc. Left quickly. will not return.
I've been here several times without any issues but went two weeks ago with my husband and ordered the gluten free salmon dinner. That's not what I was served. I started feeling ill on the ride home and fell into a gluten pit of despair that has lasted 2 weeks and counting. I'm just now starting to recover. To be safe, ask, ask, and ask again before putting anything in your mouth. A night out isn't worth weeks of pain and recovery.
GF menu and even a GF kids menu--jackpot! My wife and 2 yr old son both have Celiac. It's hard enough finding places that are either kid friendly or Celiac friendly, let alone both, but Iron Hill delivers. They plainly state that their kitchen is shared and cross-contamination IS a risk, but we have been fine so far. The GF menu isn't huge but it offers about 5 options each for appetizers, entrees, burgers, and salads. Desserts are limited to ice cream and creme brulee. The kids GF menu has burgers, shrimp, fish, chicken, (the sandwiches come on GF buns) and a good selection of sides. No GF mac n cheese or nuggets for the picky fast food eaters, but not a bad selection at all. They have a good wine list, two GF beers if you just have to have a beer (although one is Omission which gives some people reactions, so beware) and a full service bar. I found the cocktails to be a bit overpriced/watered down but at least they are inventive and tasty. And their regular non-GF menu and beer selection is quite good, so everyone leaves happy! The ambience is a bit upscale but busy/noisy enough to feel kid friendly. If a kid is whining or fidgeting, the other guests aren't likely to notice or care. Ask about GF menus before being seated, and remind your server about GF needs when ordering so there are no mix ups. We did hit one snag with our server (who was brand new to the job) who didn't notice the cookie on our son's ice cream until she was about to serve it. But she fixed it quickly with the kitchen and eveything else about our experience was awesome. We will return again and again as it's one of the few upscale family-friendly options we have where trying to order GF isn't diffcult or downright harrowing.
5-1-15. I put the date so it's easily known when I was there. My wife and I go here every week. The wait staff know when to ask questions and the usual chef is very cautious. They now have a pretty good gf bun. They have tried many, and now have settled on one that isn't too terrible, it holds up well without falling apart and tastes good. Try the gf chicken wings, they take a little longer, but worth the wait. The French onion soup isn't listed as gf, but ask for it without the crouton. The broth IS gluten free. My wife has never had a reaction. They now have more gf beers. It always depends on time of year, but it fluxuates from 1 to 3 gf beers at a time.
This place is awesome! Huge gluten free menu and definitely has gluten free rolls. Seems like that may be a new addition since others have said they don't. I have celiacs and I've never gotten sick. The only wish I have is that they have a fuller gf beer selection. But they have gf wings! And that makes up for it.
Separate menu with good options. Red Bridge beer available. Good food; knowledgable staff . While the menu states they don't have a gluten free kitchen, I have had several different meals from the gluten-free menu at different times and never been sick or felt "glutened".
We loved Iron Hill for it's GF menu but last time we were in they told us they no longer provide the GF menu. They said it's because they can't guarantee no cross contamination. They can still tell you what items can be GF but it won't be on the menu. Very disappointed! Call first to double check. This is what I was told about all Iron Hill Restaurants. ):
Good gluten-free options include gluten-free bread. The best thing about this place is that it also appeals to people who are not on gluten-free diets. When I go there with my family we are all pleased with the meal. The service is good and the ambiance is wonderful.
It's true they have a varied GF menu that even advertise. Perhaps the hype is why I was disappointed. This is a brewery restaurant with only 1 gluten-free beer (I've been to similar business that carry 3-4 GF beers). They sell a lot of burgers, wraps and sandwiches but have no GF rolls, bread, or wraps (what's the point of listing a bunch of burgers on your GF menu but can't serve them on a roll?). Friendly wait staff that checked on everything they didn't know about food prep when asked.
