At first, we were the only ones there but we did visit early afternoon after bfast and brunch crowds. The host was very accommodating even offering some things that were only for breakfast. I can have very adverse reactions to gluten and cross-contamination. I suffered none. I chose the tacos with one each of Cajun fish, Kalua pork and shrimp. Excellent!
This place is so cute and everyone I talked to was super friendly. I got gf pancakes and a smoothie and they were both wonderful. Over the phone they told me the omelettes etc were cooked separately from things with gluten, and that they could cook the gf pancakes in a separate pot instead of on the grille with the other pancakes. I just asked the waitress if they could please do that for my pancakes and it was no problem.
We got here right when they opened and were the only people there and they told me I couldn’t have anything and that everything was already contaminated. I did end up getting a smoothie bc I figured that was a safe bet, but disappointed that even though we were the only ones there they wouldn’t prepare anything else safe for me. Good place for people who are just gluten intolerant though or who eat GF by choice. If you have Celiac disease, always ask questions!
We came here directly from the airport after landing on an early morning flight. I saw the good reviews and figured we wouldn’t be disappointed. There isn’t a dedicated GF menu but there are lots of GF options. I had the açaí bowl and it was tasty although I was disappointed in the size of it for the price. Staff were friendly and sweet and checked up on us a few times. The ambience was exactly what we envisioned for a laid back breakfast in Maui.
We had breakfast here. My daughter got the breakfast burrito and they turned it into breakfast tacos for her by using corn tortillas. She loved it. They can make sandwiches gluten free with gluten free bread. I had their avocado toast with gluten free bread. The pesto sauce is amazing. We will go back there again for future breakfasts and lunches.
Probably the biggest pancakes I’ve had, it was one of the best. Meal I’ve ever had; the staff was great and kind and knowledgeable. The area was fun to browse and was super animal friendly. The omelette was practically packed with mushrooms. Over all the cafe is a sort of “hidden gem”.
Had an açaí bowl with no granola because it was not GF. They had GF waffles and pancakes, but cooked in the same place as the regular ones, so not safe because of cross-contamination. I didn’t ask about the egg plate or sandwich options because if the waffles were cooked on shared equipment, I don’t there there were other cross-contamination measures in place
