I called ahead to confirm prep procedures and the manager assured me they had good protocols. when I got there I asked for a gf menu, not too many choices but I went about my way asking questions like normal especially because my server didn't know what gluten was. NO dedicated fryer so the fries and the chips were out. which meant half the gf menu wasn't actually gf. I ended up getting a lettuce wrap patty with tomato and guacamole. I did not have a reaction. But it might have just been luck and the fact that it was slow. But it was very sad to see that they didn't seem to know much about cc. mixed drinks are fantastic tho, good price.
I have been there twice now and had great experiences both times. The manager even came to our table to assure us he would make sure our food was prepared correctly.
First off, customer service was amazing. Our waitress was on top of her knowledge with gluten. The general manager Ryan, personally came to the table to ask about our experience. Secondly, dedicated fryer - yes! Thank you Islands for paying attention to those with food allergies.
While the burgers only come lettuce wrapped they do have a dedicated fryer for the fries. They have taco options and many salads. The staff also gives suggestions and offers to change things up to make it gluten free :) while the list isn't huge it's still nice to know other places have options
My wife and I LOVE this Island's. I have Celiac, and she has Celiac plus dairy plus allergies to paprika and red pepper. They are always really nice when taking the orders, informing the manager, and taking care of all of our reactions. In 5 years we have never had a cross contamination issue. They use separate fryers, change gloves, etc. Very accommodating and careful and also don't make you feel like a pain in the butt with the long instructions on the order
I had a good experience here. They have a gluten-free menu and the staff and management are aware of the issues with celiac disease and cross-contamination. They reassured me that they would cook my food on a separate cooking area with clean gloves and fresh foil, and the food didn't affect me at all. :)
No gf buns so like someone else said, bring your own. They say they have separate fryers for fries and they cook gf items separately.
They don't quite understand cross contamination (they have fries on their GF menu, but no dedicated fryer), but if you order carefully off of their GF menu you can do well to avoid getting sick. I usually stick to the chopped salad.
not a big gluten free option! last year when we came the food was really good. This year not so much. They brought a big half head of lettuce bigger than my burger cause they don't Have gf buns. The fries were suppose to be seasoned in their special seasoning but had no flavor! So disappointed!!! we won't be coming back here next year when we come to town.
Got sick. Asked them to be super careful, they said they would be. They weren't.
They have a dedicated gluten free menu, involved a manager at the beginning, and made the kitchen staff aware of my GF needs so they could change gloves. They have a dedicated GF menu which is of decent size, and best of all the French fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer!! Cheddar fries are the best!

I had a good experience here. The manager and server were very helpful. I had cheese fries and nachos (not very healthy, I know:). I didn't get sick. The waitress informed me that the beans have gluten in them, so we didn't get them on the nachos. Overall a very good experience, I will go back.
They have always been accomodating but now they offer a gluten free menu.
Hostess didn't know they have a gluten free menu. Server told me they fry onion rings in same fryer as fries conflicting with report of dedicated fryer.
Knowledgeable manager, gluten free french fries, bring your own GF bun.
