Review of Jake n JOES Sports Grille

I ordered takeout from Jake n Joe’s in Braintree for dinner tonight. I confirmed multiple times about my allergy on the phone and explained that cross contamination in the fryer is an issue for a gluten allergy. The person I spoke with told me that a separate fryer would be used and that they accommodate allergies with no problem. I arrived to get my food and when I asked on arrival to confirm that my food was gluten free, I was told “oh there was an issue with cross contamination but here’s your food.” I explained to the manager that I had asked about it at length and that the staff was giving false information on the phone. Of course I didn’t take the food, but no one seemed to understand the problem with using the same fryer. I am just frustrated and annoyed that my dinner plans were ruined. Hoping that sharing my experience will save someone else the trouble - I will never go back there because it was made very clear to me that although they pride themselves on accommodating allergies, it is actually very unsafe to eat there.
