First visit & im impressed! Didn’t have to educate. All I had to say was I need gluten-free because I have Celiac. Out came a clean tray with paper on it. I was assured the slicer that slices meat & cheese wasn’t used for anything with gluten. Man at counter knew his stuff! I’ll be back again & again!!!! So happy to be able to order just about anything on the menu AND get a cookie!!!! Yay!
Staff was super friendly and made conversation to make your time here fun. They did my sub last so that they could wipe down all counters and utensils and were super aware of what celiac was from the start.
Walked in, asked about GF preparation...everything sounded good until I asked them to slice up a new tomato to avoid CC from what was already on the line. Employee asked the manager and manager denied the request (Even after explaining CC and Celiac). We went somewhere else that was willing to accommodate and not use products already on the line. Sad because there were 6 of us and they lost out on at minimum a $35 order over a $0.40 tomato... :( I gave them 2 stars for at least having a GF option and the employees asking the manager what to do.
Great subs, safe place to eat. They even have individually packaged GF cookies that are actually delicious. Knocked off a star because for subs, this place is very pricey.. It is hard to justify spending this much on a sandwich.
Great place! Once I asked for gluten-free bread they asked if it was an allergy and I said yes they immediately cleaned their machine before making my order so no cross contamination. If you get it the mikes way with the oils the bread doesn’t feel dry. They are really nice and friendly in there.
The staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination and changed their gloves and took other precautions without me having to ask. They also did it all with a smile. I felt very comfortable eating here and will be back.
They offer gluten free bread and are so accommodating to allergies! They wash hands, use new gloves, use separate utensils and condiments and they NEVER make me feel like a burden for the extra steps. This is my favorite Jersey Mike’s for that reason. They even have Udi’s cookies. I eat here a few times a month and have never gotten sick afterwards.
This location has gone above and beyond every time I go there. Not sure about the other review, but they prepared mine on a clean sheet of paper, change gloves, use separate knives, and they got my toppings out from another fridge. I’m not celiac however if you are concerned about cross contamination you probably should just make your own food in general and not eat out 🤷♀️ Its just not possible for a restaurant that serves regular food to guarantee there is no cross contamination. If you have gluten sensitivity you should be just fine here. They also sell gf Udi snickerdoodle cookies now too!
He cleaned the slicer, changed gloves, and laid down clean paper for a work space. I was so impressed and grateful for a lunch while traveling that I didnt worry about my food or getting sick later. Thank you!
I was very impressed. They asked if I chose gluten free due to preference or allergy. When I said allergy they switched gloves and wiped down the boards as well as got out a new knife. They put the gf bread on a clean piece of paper. The bread stayed on that while preparing. They were Knowledgeable on which ingredients were gf. They put my sandwich on a clean piece of paper to wrap it and put it in its own bag. They also have udis gf cookies.
When we told them we HAD to be gluten free, they sprang into action!!! Amazing! Well trained, super friendly and YUM! It’s magic! A GF safe sub!! Thanks, guys! And please remember to tip extra good! They deserve it!
Staff was really nice. Even though they were out of the gf bread, I got a bowl with the fixings and a free Udi’s cookie because of the bread issue. GF protocols are posted on the wall. The server cleaned everything before making my lunch.
Super impressed. The staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination etc. They use a clean space with clean equipment and individually packaged gf rolls. I tried a hot sub (cheesesteak) AND a cold sub (turkey) with no issues! The ONLY thing you CAN’T get gf are the meatballs. But who needs em with all the other gf deliciousness Jersey Mike’s has!!
Staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free options. Even to the point to remind me there would be cross contamination if I ordered a hot sandwich due to all bread going on the grill. They also changed their gloves and used separate tools and cutting boards for gluten free bread. Definitely recommend.
The first server in line was right in it! Changed gloves went to the back on a separate counter to prep my bread. They have a separate slicer on a different counter which is a real bonus! Another server went to the back and got all fresh condiments and toppings out. I was quite impressed! Then the server who was prepping my sandwich reached right down into the current lettuce bin and put it on my sandwich! I didn’t even have a chance to say stop until it was too late. I’m now playing Russian roulette with my sandwich. Here’s hoping I don’t get sick since we are traveling. Some of the staff here definitely need better training!
Staff really did a fantastic job of cleaning the work area and machinery before one of our baseball players had his sandwich made.
Amazing employees and custom service! Safe and easy to eat at if you have celiacs 😊 they always recognize me when I come in and I have never gotten sick from cross contamination which can be quite difficult to accomplish in a sub shop. All gluten free subs are prepared in the back and they even have a separate meat slicer. I do try to stick to cold subs though since the grill can have some cross contamination risks. Love this place and will continue going to this location! 😊
This is a fantastic place that caters to celiac and gluten allergies. Their gf bun is delicious and they are very safe about it. They wipe down the meat/cheese slicer, scrub the counters, take ingredients from new bins, use fresh paper, change their gloves etc. My favorite place.
They have gluten free bread for their subs and an Udi’s gluten free snickerdoodle cookie that was really good. The gf sandwich bread was a bit dry, so if you’re picky about the dryness, they also have the “sub in a tub” option.
GF bread, gloves, careful to add toppings to limit contamination. BEST sub I’ve eaten since diagnosed with celiac.
If you’re craving a sub or a philly this is the place to go. I got the philly giant, gluten free which is about the size of a regular full sized sub you would get at Publix or subway. It was $19. Yes, $19 for a sub. You are charged $3 per 1/2 so I paid $6 for the bread in addition to their sub price. I’ve never paid $19 for a sub in my life but it was good and I’m glad I ate it, and they are safe and educated with gluten contamination, but I’m not going back until I have another $19 sub craving that I can’t ignore.
They are very friendly and knowledgeable. They take precautions and use a separate area when you order gluten free. I love when people don’t make me feel annoying for asking for gluten free options, but rather show that they care.
The staff happily changed their gloves and used a separate workspace so there wasn’t cross-contamination. I ended up with a migraine for the rest of the day, but I’m not sure if was from here since I’m traveling. They use Udis buns, which were dry. I’ll probably do a salad next time
Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly about handling a gluten allergy - happily changed their gloves, had the kitchen clean their knife, and used extra sheets of paper to keep my sandwich from coming into contact with glutened surfaces. Gave it 4 stars because they use Udis buns that are really dry, even if you do it “mikes way” with vinegar and oil. Maybe next time I’ll do a salad. Still remains to be seen if I’ll get sick or not, but impressed with the care taken by the staff!
Very good. Luckily I was their first customer so I didn't have to worry about cross contamination but she did explain how they do things if I had come later. They seem to really understand and my sandwich was delicious.
Unfortunately I had a terrible experience going there today. While the sub in itself was alright the staff was extremely rude and very unwelcoming. At the time we went there was a lot of people and I understand a worker being frustrated about a lot of customers who aren't super nice, but when we got there we had an online order and we ended up having to wait almost a half an hour beyond the time it said it would be ready. During the time we were there one of the workers spoke to us and asked us if we had an online order and confirmed that we had a gluten-free online order. However while we were waiting someone else online made a gluten-free order and she made a nasty comment about how she was sick of the gluten-free orders and gluten-free people basically. I thought it was kind of rude considering that we were a gluten-free order. She was very unfriendly and unwelcoming and while I get that there were a lot of customers and she seemed short staffed her entire attitude is very off-putting. Truth be told because they were so busy I don't think the proper precautions were taken in making the subs and one of our party was cross-contaminated. It was a very disappointing experience and I would never go back. If you have a gluten allergy while they have gluten free bread they apparently don't like the gluten-free customers as it's an annoyance to them to have to make something gluten-free. That was basically what the worker said which was ironic because she wasn't the one making the sub however she had issue with anyone who was gluten-free wanting to get a gluten-free sub because it really pissed her off that people were ordering them. A total fail in my opinion.
Wow! They were great! They offered to wipe down all of the equipment for me and did it with a smile. My sandwich was perfect and they did their best to not make me feel uncomfortable for the inconvenience. Highly recommend!
