At 2:30 I called and spoke to a women about gluten cross contamination precautions taken in store as I have Celiac disease. She stated they have a back line they would use and open new containers for my order after changing gloves. After our conversation I had confidence in going to the store to order. Upon arriving the young man who took my order had a look of complete confusion when I mentioned Celiac and that I’d spoken to someone earlier. I was able to speak to the manager, Elizabeth, who was more than helpful. When she initially offered to do a deep clean of the slicer and use what veggies they had in the back prepped I was still nervous as the number of visible bread crumbs seemed nearly impossible to clean. When she said it would take 10-15 minutes I said not to bother, I’d just get my families sandwiches. Instead she left her break and did use the already clean back machine to make my order. She was never annoyed, was always patient and wanted to make me 100% happy. The young man said he’d never seen it done that way…which makes me wonder about what the woman on the phone had told me. I also wonder if I will be able to have the same amazing service again. Either way, I want you to know how much I appreciated Elizabeth and her amazing customer service!!!

While they have GR bread, I would not recommend this location to someone with Celiac. Went twice and both times staff are not well informed about safety procedures and don’t really understand cross-contamination issues. They were happy to work with me but I had to explain a lot of things. They had to redo one half of the sandwich as they put avocado from the main container using same utensils. I’ve been to another location where they properly assemble the entire sandwich in the back.
I was in town for work and everyone ordered together. I called ahead and stressed that I needed gluten free and dairy free. I asked them to add bacon. My sandwich was delivered with cheese melted all over the contents. No bacon. I didn’t have lunch.

My experience at Jersey Mike’s was good I have celiacs and I have eaten at several even in California never had a reaction and I do have to carry a epi pen because my reaction is swelling of eyes, mouth and throat.
Love the separate prep area.

Jersey Mike’s is the only sub chain I trust to eat food from. They clean all equipment, change gloves, and get toppings from the back for my sandwich on gluten free udis sub. They have gluten free packaged snickerdoodles for dessert.
