So, everything tastes great but the service at the Schererville location has fallen off.
The employees are very dismissive of cross contamination concerns and made my sandwich without cleaning off the counter (or even putting down a clean paper as a barrier) and slathered on Mayo from the shared bin with the shared knife.
Other locations have been fine, but I’m not sure that management is very involved with this location and the teens that run it in their absence.
Gave 2 stars because they used to be good and I’m hoping that they’ll clean up their act.

They have a great staff here and are very knowledgeable. They keep the spaces clean and separate. I always get a hot sub and there is never any issue. The sandwich bread is always soft and awesome as well.

The staff is not kind when you have an allergy. The three times I’ve gone in they were rude and made it loudly known that I had a gluten allergy. Then they gave me breaded chicken and had to remake my sandwich. I waited 30 minutes for my food and they huffed and puffed the entire time. For me it is a true allergy and I get extremely ill for days and a rash all over my body if my food even comes into contact with a surface that had bread crumbs in it. So it’s not like I’m trying to be picky or cause a problem. I just don’t want to get sick. I said thank you and tried to remain kind but every time I go in it’s the same attitude. So needless to say I won’t be going back any more. The sandwich was ok but not worth the stress of being made to feel like an inconvenience.
Eaten at Jersey Mike's several times very good sub. You tell them you want gluten free then they ask if you have an "allergy" which tells them they have to be very careful. Have not gotten sick after several visits.
$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

Service took a while. I ordered ahead of time even. I waited around 15 minutes once I arrived and was told it would take longer because of my allergy. Overall bread was hard and fell apart while eating it.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

Amazing processes and protocols for safe handling of gluten free sandwiches to avoid cross contact. They explained their protocol to me without me prompting or asking any leading questions, showing me that know how to prevent cross contact.
