Love this Jersey Mike’s! They tend to be very busy so I prefer to order with their app in advance for a quick pickup. Good attention to cross contamination.
They have Udi's bread for their sandwiches, and they clean down all surfaces and equipment the moment you say you want it on gluten free bread. Very nice place.
Best. GF Subs. Ever!!! Thanks for a treat I haven't been able to enjoy for 29 years😊
They are extremely helpful and sensitive to the needs of Gluten Free. You can have any subject you like on gluten free bread except for the hot subs. They stop production on any other sandwich and clean off the slicer and use separate utensils cutting board etc to ensure there is no contamination etc. I have eaten several times and it's the only place in town that I've found you can get a sub sandwich with gluten free bread.
So great! I'm still amazed at how thoughtful & what a great procedure they had for gf! I wish there were Jersey Mike's everywhere! Was such a treat to have a sandwich like I used to enjoy!
This is definitely the best sub shop for Gluten Free sandwiches. The food is so fresh and the sub roll is actually good for a gf roll. Server spent 5 mins wiping everything down before serving me. He and the other staff also changed their gloves and used new knives. I wish they had more locations. This is the second time I’ve been to this chain and I will definitely come back again.
I don't know about this one but the one in Orange Park on blanding is celiac friendly. You have to tell them you have celiac. They will change there gloves and get different utensils, you can also watch them if you want. I have eaten there several times and never have gotten sick, they also have gluten free snickerdoodle cookies which are really good.
Took my allergy seriously and made my sandwich on a clean surface with new gloves. I am happy to report that I didn’t get sick.
They were careful about cross contamination when making our gluten free sub by a glove and prep space change but didn’t clean slicer or open a new meat or cheese. And then another server wrapped the sandwich at the end without a glove change. My celiac son ended up getting sick. They do sell pre-packed Udis gluten free cookies though.
I eat here often as it is very convenient for me. I enjoy the Udi’s hoagie rolls and that they (usually) wipe everything down. However, the last time I was in, the one person behind the counter was not very friendly and was as thorough with wiping down everything as they had previously been. The lady was very rude and was yelling at the other workers. Other than her, I recommend eating here as long as you make sure they wipe everything down if you are sensitive. I have however never gotten glutened.
The food and service are exceptional, love that i can order a ‘real’ sub or get a sub in a tub.
Not sure about this particular location. No one changed gloves and when my husband alerted the “toppings” girl that she had just grabbed regular bread while putting toppings in his GF sandwich, she didn’t understand what he was saying. Another server came over and told her to change her gloves, but the sandwich was already cross-contaminated. We had to request that they do it over. As we were paying, I watched as she went over to the other server to ask what happened. He shrugged, told her not to worry about it and smirked our way. The cashier apologized and was very friendly. Thinking this particular location needs training. We won’t be back to this one.
The staff was amazing at this location. He cleaned the slicer and entire counter and station before he made my daughter’s sandwich. They changed gloves multiple times and washed hands multiple times. We weren’t charged an arm and a leg either for her meal like we normally are. Was very happy and they were all so friendly!
You can order on Udi’s bread or “in a tub”. Staff asked how allergic I was and asked if they needed to change gloves and clean work station. It took a while for them to get it ready, but the bread was soft. They also had Udi’s packaged GF cookies. I didn’t have any issues. I will be back.
The staff asks if gluten-free is a preference or allergy. They wipe down the meat slicer very thoroughly, and keep the sub from touching the meal prep line. I’ve eaten here multiple times and have never gotten sick. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the subs are great!
Took the leap to try and eat out after being diagnosed with celiac and decided to try my local Jersey Mike’s after seeing them take care of another customer a while back that also has this. The whole staff was great and talked me through my anxiety of being a first time eater outer 😌 They wiped down the meat slicer and counters along with washing their hands and changing to a fresh pair of gloves. They laid multiple pieces of fresh paper on the counter as well and the gentleman who started my sandwich followed it through to the end. They keep separate condiments in squeeze bottles as well as a knife kept in its sleeve only used for GF sandwiches to help eliminate cross contamination. A++ and thank you!
Staff changed gloves and used a knife they said was dedicated gluten free but all meats and cheeses were cut on the same slicer with no cleaning and used the same toppings that were used on regular subs despite being extremely clear that I need ALL precautions, am very sensitive and will get very sick. I do not feel at all confident that it is celiac safe.
Offers gf bread and cookies. I would love if they would add gf wraps as well. There is not a separate menu - you just need to say you want the gf bread. The staff changed gloves, cleaned the counters and deli slicing machine, and the same staff member prepared my sub on deli wax paper to avoid cross contamination! The bread actually tastes pretty good so I am so glad I found a place where I can still enjoy a decent sandwich.
They added gluten free bread to their menu last year. It’s not the greatest, but it’s nice to eat a sub sometimes. You may want to get some oil and vinegar to soften up the bread. I have not tried a hot sub on gluten free, maybe I should. One more star if your bread was better, and another if you had a Gluten Free Wrap, for when a sub is too much.
They treated the GF sandwich appropriately, used new gloves, a tray to keep it separate, wiped down all the equipment, etc. On point! The only thing they forgot, which is likely just because it's a new location - was to ask all the requesite questions before ringing ppl up, had to pay extra for the size and extra meet after the fact, also they have zero condiments available, nothing other than sugars for iced tea. Otherwise I'd still recommend. Just make sure you mention everything up front
If you let them know that you have celiac disease, they'll wipe down the equipment and change gloves before making your sandwich. They also have a separate knife to cut the gf bread. There is some risk of cross-contamination with the lettuce, tomato, etc. though.
We love JM & they’re always awesome about asking if it’s an allergy or a preference. Just tell them allergy and they will wipe everything down and start fresh to make sure there is no cross-contamination. Also, the gluten-free bread isn’t terrible. I think Udi’s makes it. I LOVE their subs (so much more flavor and substance than Subway or others) and was so sad when I was diagnosed with celiac. Now, you can eat GF here and still feel like you’re eating a sub!!!
