Absolutely wonderful meal and experience! Every step of the way they knew and acknowledged that I was celiac and corn free. From check in to the servers multiple times. Even following up from the chef. The kitchen is open to the restaurant so you could even hear them call out dietary modifications as they prepared each table and each course. There were only 3 things on the whole menu that couldn’t be adjusted to accommodate. We’ve eaten at a fair amount of Michelin restaurants and can confidently say it was the best 1 star meal we’ve had. Was also the best wine pairing experience we’ve had at the 1 star level.
I didn’t love my food. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t up to the same level I’ve had at other michelin star restaurants. A lot of the dishes weren’t coherent, and I felt that the texture was off. My first course was very bad for this reason, and I suspect this is because of a swap out to make it gluten free.
Also, our waitress kept forgetting I had celiacs. She also suggested I “have a bite” or my husband’s glutenous veal sweetbread just to try it.
I probably won’t go back again unless it’s in a big group or something and even then… I would rather spend my money somewhere else.
I was so impressed by this restaurant and by the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. I called in advance to check, and marked my reservation as “celiac.” They knew who I was when I arrived, and they had special food items prepared for me. Almost all of the menu can be made gluten free, and the staff was so knowledgeable and I never felt worried. Beyond that, the food was INCREDIBLE. I never thought I’d get to try a proper chef’s tasting menu and I was so surprised and pleased at my experience here.
