Probably the single best option for feeding both regular and GF people at the same time. Because it’s essentially just a flavor delivery device, going gluten-free on a thin-crust pie has much less of an impact than virtually any other type of food substitution.
It also helps that Jules’ pizza types are delicious. There’s a wide range of naturally occurring GF selections (from sriracha honey chicken to regular pepperoni) as well as some that are intentionally GF (like the Nashville Hot that uses GF fried chicken from Lovebird.)
This isn’t a substitute for your local pizzeria because the menu tends toward specialty pies, but they’re varied enough that you’re sure to find something that you like. Get a pie for the GF family member, get one or two regulars for the rest, and you’re set for a good meal that everyone will enjoy.
Located in scenic downtown Jenkintown, PA, Jules Thin Crust Pizza is the place to go to experience GF pizza dining. The staff are friendly and knowledgable about the prevention of cross-contamination and can guide you on GF toppings for your pizza. The restaurant also offers a GF baked goods section at checkout. Service is fast and friendly. A tremendous experience.
I’m really sad about this one. Jules was our go to spot almost every Friday night and now I don't think we can go anymore! My husband suffers from celiac disease and to be able to find a local pizza shop that makes incredible thin crust pizza AND gluten free was a god send but the past few times we've ordered from here, my husband got sick each time. This past Friday, we placed our usual gluten free order and he tested it with the Nima sensor (the digital test that detects gluten in food) and two tests on each pizza turned up positive for gluten found. Really disappointing. I'm not sure if the staff are sharing ovens with regular dough and gluten free dough or just being careless about their preparation and cross-contamination but I cannot stress enough that even the tiniest bit of gluten for someone who suffers from the disease can be catastrophic. I know they've had some changes in staff at this particular location but it just seems like each time we go we are holding our breath to see if he will get sick. Unfortunately, as much as it hurts my soul, I don't think we'll be back.
This place is just awesome. They can make ANY of their pizzas gluten free. They offer several sizes as well, which I don't find to be typical of places that serve gluten free pizza. It's fresh and delicious. TAYLOR helped by answering all my questions and being so patient and personable! They make the gluten free pizza in the back separate from the others and serve it on a tray marked gluten free. They have prepackaged gluten free desserts from a local bakery too!Yummmmmmm............
Simply amazing for being gluten free. No one has been able to provide me with pizza that tastes this close to the "real" pizza! Completely made my night eating here and feeling I was eating "normal" again :)
the crust is thin & yummy. It isn't your typical frozen crusts you get at most places. I would recommend it.
I was all set to give Jules a 5-star rating. Their GF pizza is delicious and they make it to order and bake it on parchment that is labeled GLUTEN FREE so everyone in the kitchen knows to handle it as such--or so you'd expect. After our 5th visit, my wife (who has Celiac disease) fell ill from gluten ingestion. Someone at Jules must have screwed up and contaminated our GF pizza. (Jules was the only place we ate out that week.)
Great service! great pizza! Great treats from thegrainexchange.net
I've eaten that other Jules restaurants. This one was just as good. It was quite busy, yet, they did a great job of preparing the gluten-free. Gluten-free. Everyone else had a regular kind of pizza and we all enjoyed it very much. Thank you so much Jules! Your staff were very nice and professional. Whenever we're in this area we'll be sure to stop by!
