Overall this place has been great. But I did get sick from the food here twice (Celiac symptoms reactions) after several times feeling okay. So be cautious and make sure to tell them you have Celiac and to be extra careful. Cross contamination can happen here sadly. But not every time. Hopefully they are more careful with their gluten free pizzas.
I've ordered take-out pizza several times here and I have never gotten sick. However, the last time I got their pizza, just a few days ago on a Saturday night, it was not good at all. Totally bland, needed salt or something, and the crust had a different texture and did not taste the same. It was definitely GF but was definitely not what I'd had in the past. I had to add salt and additional toppings at home to try and make the pizza taste better. This makes me seriously question if I want to order from here again.
They seem to take CC more seriously than most pizza places I've tried, but the pizza just isn't that good. The crust texture is strange, there's not enough sauce, and the cheese doesn't add much. The pepperoni is good though, and it is safe.
I love this place. Not only are they super knowledgeable about GF, but their up charge for GF pizza is a measly 50 cents! They have the ingredients of their GF dough on the website. AND they make personal size pizzas in GF. AND AND they label the boxes with a big GLUTEN FREE stamp.
The employees were friendly and very knowledgeable about celiac disease. They prepared the gluten free pizza in the back and cooked it in a separate oven - a true gem for people with celiac disease. And it was reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!
Love this place! Very knowledgable. Careful about cross contamination. Dairy free options. Gluten free beer & cider. Gluten free dessert from MARIPOSA bakery & miglets like brownies and cupcakes which some are also vegan. New salad menu last time I went. They cost more than before but they are huge!!! The kale quinoa is my favorite so far.
The pizza was so so delicious. I had pepperoni pizza with daiya cheese, which was soy/dairy/gluten free. Thin crust was just the right balance of chewy and crunchy and had great flavor (has eggs FYI). Pepperoni was also delicious! Also have dairy/soy/gluten free cupcakes for dessert which were really good. I want to go back tomorrow!!
Friendly and knowledgable staff, delicious pizza and other gf goodies! Their gf pizza crust for east coast locations is made with buckwheat flour, which I haven't had in pizza crust before. It gave the pizza a subtle earthiness that went fabulously with the Veggie #14 that I ordered, which had two types of mushrooms, arugula, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. Oh and by the way, ALL the toppings are gf so you can get any kind of pizza you want! And they have vegan cheese available for dairy free folks. Heads up, the gf pizzas are made to order, whereas the regular pizzas are ready made on the counters, but it was only about a 15 minute wait. (Regular pizzas can also be made custom to order.) They make the gf pizzas in a different part of the oven from the regular ones, and also cook it on foil. My pizza came out on a plastic board covered in paper that was labeled gluten free, where the regular pizzas came out on a wooden board with unlabeled paper, so even though we had a gf pizza and a regular pizza both with the same toppings at our table, it was easy to tell them apart. Almost all of their desserts are gf too, they come from a dedicated gf bakery and include cookies, brownies, and cupcakes, all sealed in plastic. I had the chocolate chip cookies, which were very nice! They also have some vegan desserts, so there are dairy free dessert options as well. When it came time to wrap up my leftovers, they even gave me a box with a Gluten Free label on it! They really know what they're doing here, highly recommend!
So stoked to be living back near Jules again! I’d give an extra star if it was possible because they also offer daiya cheese- many folks who are celiac can also be lactose intolerant. The pizzas are delicious, our favorite Kim’s BBQ!
Ate there on 30Jun2019, inquired about GF options as I had a medical need, they said any of the pizzas could be made GF, so I ordered GF pizza Meat #3. It was delivered on a special board, with different colored paper clearly marked GF, tasted delicious, but something went wrong as I got very sick that night. I was glutened. Possibly CC, not sure. Never going back.
Excellent pizzas! While ordering I specified allergy and they explained the many options. Everything was labeled (it came out on a different glass platter and the to go box was labeled as well). Whole family enjoyed it!
Ok not only is this place super knowledgeable about celiac disease but they act on it in regards to cross contamination AND they have daiya cheese for us who are lucky enough to have a dairy intolerance as well! Being that it's right down the block from my office...I am in HEAVEN.
I’ve been eating at Jules for years, but just recently was diagnosed with celiac. I got gluten free pizza from here twice and was completely fine. Tastes amazing too!!! Plus you can buy their dough to take home
We enjoyed several varieties of pizza. Staff was knowledgeable.
Their pizza is amazing . and their vegan cheese!
The manager and staff were very knowledgeable about the separation and had separate serving markings for gf. The menu clearly marked what could be made gf. The pizza was very good and came out fresh. Overall a great find and a good place to eat.
Yes! Honestly one of the few places that I feel 100% safe eating at. Gluten-free pizza is clearly marked by a clear tray when it comes out and boxes are always stamped gluten-free. They offer the best GF desserts as well.
Unlike the College Ave location this Jules is absolutely NOT celiac safe. They use the same oven for both regular and gf pizza making it utterly dangerous to your average celiac. Drive a bit farther and go to the other one because they rock!
Notes: I was so looking forward to bringing my three yr old celiac here. I spoke with the manager and she advised while they follow strict procedures to try and reduce cc, she wouldnt recommend for celiacs. They bake pizzas together and while they put foil on the racks, they dont have designated oven. It seems they are celiac friendly at first glance, when really they are not..disappointing..
I had a pizza with Brie, Mozzarella, Pear, Rosemary & Honey. it was the best fruit pizza I have ever had. My husband loved his sausage pizza. they also have the Happy Mixer baked goods for desert. The girl at the counter was educated and knowlegable on cross contamination with gluten. This is a new favorite.
Probably the Best gluten-free pizza we’ve ever had! They even had Daiya cheese since we’re dairy free. Also latex free gloves. Made ours in a separate area and brought it out with special gf trays. Have never seen so many choices for toppings. Wonderful experience. Manager was very helpful; highly recommend!
I love the cracker-thin crust and variety of toppings! Any of the pizzas that have kale are excellent, and the BBQ pulled pork on their pizza is phenomenal. They really care about making GF food safe for their customers.
I can't speak highly enough of Jules. You can get every pizza GF. All of the staff is knowledgeable about Celiac, and the food is prepared separately. When you come in, you choose a pizza, then tell a staff member you want the pizza GF in small or medium size (can't remember if they have large). Then, you pay and sit down. You do have to wait 20-25 minutes, but they bring the pizza right to your table. Instead of being on a wooden plate like their non GF pizza, the GF pizza is on a plastic plate, and the sheet covering it is labeled GF all over. And, to top it all off, the pizza's absolutely delicious!
Call ahead and they will make your pizza in a dedicated gluten free oven for you.
For more than 10 years, we have enjoyed Jules' gluten-free pizza. We used to drive 40-minutes to visit the original location in Doylestown. Now the Wayne location is a frequent stop for us. The staff is knowledge, the menu is clear about what is GF, and the pizza is delicious. One note about the pizza: it is a thin crust, so don't expect a think, doughy pizza. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors are well honed. The Wayne and Ardmore locations usually have gluten-free dessert treats, too!
Excellent service. Basically, you walk in and there are pizza pies all ready to be served behind the counter. If you want gluten free, they prepare it custom made in the back to avoid cross contamination. I think the wait time was about 10-15 min. Shout out to Marcus the asst manager who explained everything to me when I said I have Celiac.
Dedicated oven for GF Pizza. Delicious
