Sadly have to echo the sentiment that they don’t really understand the seriousness of celiac. I’ve eaten here a couple times without getting sick (luck?), but just got glutened by a takeout order. I double checked when I picked it up that it was gf, they’re always very nonchalant/dismissive about it so I didn’t over think it. Took one bite and it was full of tempura. Spit most of it up and am crossing my fingers for my evening ahead!

Sad to say....Beware! Multiple times we asked to ensure what was GF. One server brought what they said was a GF beer but clearly stated Barley and malt as ingredients and not a gluten removed beer. Fortunately we caught this. They poured soy sauce and when we asked it was not GF - they do have GF soy sauce. A staff member brought shrimp tempura to the table which we we had not ordered - we told them no. They then brought chicken skewers we hadnt ordered but told us they were ours because they were GF. Then we ordered a maki combo (different server) which stated GF on the menu we confirmed when ordering then when it was brought to the table we were told it was GF. ONE of the rolls contained panko tempura crumbs! When we questioned the server she said oh sorry that is not GF unfortunately we already ate a piece each. The manager then came apologized and offered a GF dessert in compensation. We declined. They clearly do not understand the importance of being careful and the impact on the health of clients as a result of carelessness or ignorance. The service was also exceptionally slow, the credit card machines didn't work well and no one seemed to care about any of the errors. The sashimi was very good but could not make up for the mistakes and poor service. If you choose to eat here be very very careful and double check everything.

GF marked on menu server was knowledgeable. I had both GF 8 piece sushi rolls, and loved them. I also tried the chicken wings. They brought me the wrong chicken wings (gluten) and as per usual i wait 2 minutes before eating for this exact situation, a server came back within 20 seconds and stopped me from eating and corrected their error.

Ate here twice in ones weekend, it does get busy so recommend making an online reservation. The first time we didn’t have a reservation so we sat outside. Food is great!! And celiac safe options, we had the gf chefs choice.

They are so knowledgeable about gluten free and I felt so safe and taken care of. The food and cocktails were very very good. I’m from the west coast where sushi is excellent and when still I’d come back here in a heartbeat.

Amazing experience at Kyo, gluten free items are marked on the menu and they had gluten free soy sauce. The waitress was vey nice and understanding and went to ask about the saké since she wasn't sure it was GF. I didn't get any symptoms and I'm quite sensitive, so I can say I trust this place 100%! Also the food is SO delicious!

Gluten free options are marked on the menu, AND they offer gluten free soy sauce! They actually have a separate area of their kitchen for preparing the gluten free items. I had the veggie and salmon fresh spring rolls, and edamame. I initially ordered the chicken skewers which are marked gluten free on the menu, but since I had communicated about my celiac disease to the server, he came and let us know that since it was near closing, they only chicken they had to use was in a marinade that included gluten. He offered an alternative (chicken wings), but said that they were fried in a shared fryer. Overall super impressed by his knowledge and communication!

This place is amazing for celiacs. Understood the difference between just gluten free and celiac. Got the snake roll modified and a bunch of nigiri. Highly recommend for celiacs.

Staff isn’t super friendly but speak both French and English. They have gluten free soy sauce and the menu is labeled, though the options are questionable. Many of the gluten free rolls that are labeled on the menu include tempura. Just stayed clear of those and had nigiri which was tasty and fresh.

I went there for the 1st time since my diagnostic. The server named Brian was well aware of what celiac is. He totally took care of me. I wanted to have sushi but was concerned with the cross-contamination in the prep area. The chef actually did my sushi in another area to be safe! It was my first sushi in almost 2 years!!! It was only 5 pieces but it was the best I ever recall. As for my main dish, when it arrives, I saw our server talked to someone and they returned the dish in the kitchen. He said that they have made a mistake and the dish might have been in contact with gluten. They just redo my dish. I had to wait an extra 10-15 min but it was worth it! So good and so glad I was able to eat safely!

Great spot! Ordered takeout and the server was very confident in what they could offer. We got a nigiri platter, a maki platter (replacing the tempura battered items with shrimp), and a spring roll. I don’t know if they can do special maki rolls as we just stuck to the basics.
