Great experience. The server was knowledgeable about celiac. Bread was initially brought out but we asked if they had a gluten free option. They brought bread made from the pizza dough with cheese and garlic which was delicious. Many gluten free options available!

The best gluten-free meal I have had in years. The gluten-free pasta is homemade and absolutely delicious. I did not see one thing on the menu that you could not order that was saved for a gluten allergy will definitely go back.

Modern Pastry is really close by and has delicious GF cannoli (no CC risk if getting the traditional version with no add-ons), which hold up well even a day later. It’s the perfect treat after such an amazing meal.
The portions are MASSIVE. (And I can put away a serious amount of food.) Consider one entree and one appetizer for two people to share. (This also meets their minimum purchase requirement of one entree or appetizer per person.)
They have the best gf pasta in the world and over 100 options! My favorite place to eat in Boston!

I went here for my bday and it was amazing!! I had been here once before and got a pizza, but this time the server came back a said after talking to the chef there’s nothing they can do to fully prevent cross contamination so to not order a pizza. Weird!! We shared the pesto Alfredo gemelli pasta and added chicken it was AMAZING. We also got spaghetti bolognese. Hugeeeee portions. I love that they have different pasta shape options instead of just penne. We got the chocolate lava cake with vanilla gelato!!!

Huge portions of GF fresh pasta. We are rigatoni and ravioli. Also ordered the garlic bread with the oil they usually serve with bread. All was really good. No GF beer but wine was good!

We had an amazing meal here. Two non-celiac GF diners and one diner without dietary restrictions. Think of eating at your Italian grandmother’s house for Sunday dinner. Soooo good. Meatballs (sorry - not GF) are the size of baseballs. My GF son had fettuccine Alfredo with homemade GF fettuccine noodles. Husband had GF cheese ravioli in bolognese that were amazing (and didn’t fall apart). They have a very clearly marked menu with over a 100 GF items, including cheesy garlic bread and even dessert. While I truly don’t think you could choose wrong from the Italian restaurants in this area of Boston, it was so refreshing traveling and being able to find good GF food so easily!

Very nice restaurant in a historic building. We had the gluten free cheese ravioli and a gluten free pizza, which were both delicious. There were so many gluten free options - they can make almost everything in the menu gluten free. They have a separate oven for cooking gf pizzas. I am a sensitive celiac and I had no reaction. The only downside was that the gluten free garlic bread appetizer is the same dough as the pizza (our server told us when we ordered). It was tasty but rather stiff. I advise calling to make a reservation - it’s a popular place.

This place was fantastic! My daughter is Celiac and they had multiple different GF pasta options AND yummy GF garlic bread. Server called over the manager without even being asked to help make sure that they explained the gluten-free options to us. Everything was absolutely delicious.

Homemade GF gemelli - a rare treat! Can’t decide between pesto and alfredo sauce? Not to worry! Our waitress pointed out that they have a pesto alfredo sauce! GF cheese ravioli with the Marsala sauce was on point. Oh gosh this place was delicious! We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat us at the cutest tucked away table. Our waitress was wonderful, food came out with allergy flags and was brought out by our waitress, garlicky cheese “bread” was tasty, and portions were generous! Prices are on par with the rest of the North End. We will definitely be back for another date night!

I didn’t think it was humanly possible to love a restaurant this much. The service was so-so, but the food? Uh-maze-ing!!!
I had the GF rigatoni with the pesto alfredo and I added grilled chicken, along with the garlic cheese “bread” (it’s a pizza, as another reviewer mentioned). I wish I had two stomachs to have been able to finish it all. The pasta, in particular, was exceptional.
My partner isn’t GF and had their regular pizza. He said it’s some of the best he’s ever had. (Which is saying something…)

If you are going to the north end this is the spot! Sooo many options I actually had a had time choosing something (which how often is that the case?!). Server was kind and knowledgeable, made suggestions and even made me a mocktail (prego here)! They have gluten free bread but it’s not complimentary. I was hungry so I decided to get the “garlic cheesy bread” bread…well I wasn’t expecting it to be an actually gf pizza basically but omg it was so good and very shareable. My husband actually choose to eat it instead of the table bread he was served. For an entree I was boring and got cheese ravioli with a pink sauce. You can tell it’s homemade pasta and cheese. Very delish! I was shocked at the amount of different gf pasta types they made. Will absolutely be back. Side note hubby loved his chicken parm (non-gf) too!

Appreciated the multiple types of gluten free pasta! It was a fun experience and the meals were good. Glad that our GF meals were tagged with flags. Unfortunately they were short staffed (very apologetic) and waited a really long time after we were seated to order—it was a little tough with two kids to be there. Ended up being just under a two hour meal.

Many GF options. Noted on menu and staff were knowledgeable. My dish came out with a stake in it that said ‘Gluten Free’. I noticed also that the check was marked up with lots of asterisks to highlight that there was a food ‘allergy’ This is comfort food. Portions are enormous.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could! I have to be gluten and dairy free and my husband is dairy free. We haven't had good Italian food in a long time! The staff took great care of us, they even got us gf dipping bread (pizza crust) with garlic and oil to dip in. I had chicken over homemade gf rotini with a spicy marinara sauce. Sooo good, best gf pasta ever. Huge portions, made 2 meals for me.

LFG has delicious pasta, pizza and dessert options that are gluten free. La Familia also has a version of dipping bread for us, too—it is the pizza crust with olive oil and garlic & is delicious, too! We got the Bolognese Sauce with gemelli noodles (so tender!) & a loaded pizza with sausage peppers and onions. You can order any pizza toppings with a gluten-free crust. Our service was also excellent!

Absolutely terrific! One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had since been diagnosed with celiac 20 years ago. Charming, fabulous service, and felt safe as can be. Even offered four different types of homemade pastas to substitute for any of their preparation’s, which were numerous and delicious. Even had a lava cake gluten free for dessert. This is celiac heaven!!

Really delicious food. Friendly waiter. However, the portions are GIANT. Like most of the plates could honestly feed a family of three. They also have a policy which stipulates you need one app/entree per person which sort of stops you from sharing one of their giant plates.
However the food is so good however the menu went heavy on carbs with minimal protein options. But it felt very safe. I don't think I ever got a reaction. My stomach did feel a little bad after eating but I think it was too much food since I never diarrhea'd.

I am new to being gluten and dairy free and this place made it so easy! Our server was very willing to answer my questions and made sure to wrap the gluten free items in a separate bag. I only have a sensitivity so I cannot speak to cross-contamination, but my experience was great. Their gluten free pasta tasted even better than normal pasta. So many options to choose from for gluten free and non-gluten free people alike. The pasta came with a stick in it that said “gluten free” which was comforting.

(First, great food. Some of the best Italian I’ve had. But back to the gluten free review):
The pasta and pizza part of the menu is choose the style/sauce and then the noodles. They offer gluten free pasta and pizza crusts options. (Multiple types of noodles)
The GF Bread they offer is pizza crust. It is good, but just know its not a loaf.
Really recommend this place

Our server was very knowledgeable about GF dining, brought out GF bread and separate oil for our son, and there were tons of pizza and pasta options for celiac. The food was flagged as GF as well. They don’t have a separate menu, but said they are working on one. Great food for those of us without celiac as well, and they gave us same day reservations for 8 people on a busy Friday!

WOW! Lots of gluten free choices and pastas! If you are in Boston, stop what you are doing and go here! We did not have a reservation. We walked in about 5pm on Saturday night of a holiday weekend . Table for 2 was ready in 30 minutes. We overheard others happily waiting an hour for a larger party. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great ! They made their own GF pasta.. I asked about food prep and felt very date and comfortable eating there. No fried stuff but I did NOT feel like I was missing out ! Was set at a good price not overly expensive and. And the portion sizes were huge ! Take home for tomorrow! We will visit again when we are in Boston next time!

I have celiac disease and I am extremely sensitive to any gluten; even cross contamination. I get nervous places will mess up, and if you’re like me I 100% recommend this restaurant. They were super nice and confirmed that have a separate area for gluten free, change gloves, etc… I got gluten free penne Alfredo and gluten free bread, it was amazing. The bread comes out like a pizza, so I am sure the GF pizza is good too. Huge servings too, and not very pricey. 10/10 Recommended.
