Legoland is awesome! There is a lunch place with great options and a gluten free fryer and GF buns! The manager will come out to take your order. It takes a little longer but it’s safe. I recommend an early lunch to avoid the crowds. Castle Ice Cream has an allergy list with a bunch of GF options that the manager will share with you and then they will give you fresh scoops from the back. Before you go consult the dining website: https://www.legoland.com/california/things-to-do/theme-park/dining/
The gluten free food was difficult to find and many places advertised as having gluten free food no longer did. They switched to a kiosk system for ordering at many of their quick service locations and there was no real way to order gluten free. We tried talking to staff twice and were either told they were out of gluten free options or that they no longer carried gluten free options (pizza mania). I was left having to leave my group several times and try to hunt down take out options at sit down restaurants. We had planned our day off of the allergy information on the website and it was very frustrating that it wasn’t accurate.
I ate at the Burger Kitchen in Legoland because they had a gluten free bun. It was delicious and I felt very cared for and taken seriously. I asked the attendant about gluten free and he immediately grabbed a supervisor to talk to me about it, who then personally brought my burger out to me. It was very good and I felt very safe eating it.
We ate lunch in the Castle Hotel at the Dragon’s Den. We informed our server of our daughter’s celiac disease and she sent out a chef. The chef was very kind and informed her of her options. She choose the GF cheeseburger with fries (they have a dedicated fryer). The entire meal was surprisingly good!
They have a full allergen menu online to review before you visit. We ate lunch at pizza and pasta buffet and they custom make a cauliflower crust pizza with whatever toppings you want and bring it to your table. Everyone was super kind and friendly about it.
Only complaint would be that not all restaurants have GF options so you need to plan ahead.
We ate Granny’s Apple Fries - they read off the ingredients to me and it was the only thing sold in the shack other than drinks. They also had a vegan whipped cream option, for those who are dairy free. We also ate GF pizza at Pizza mania. They make it at a separate station using separate utensils, and it also actually tasted good! No physical reactions so far and it’s been at least an hour since fries and three hours since pizza.
We ate at the burger stop and they did great with my gluten free cheese burger. They also had gluten free fries and since we had to wait like 10 minutes for the chef to safely make mine they threw in some chips as well. Such great service. I am very sensitive and did not get sick at all!!
We had the best experience. I didn’t eat anything at the park, except for Granny’s apple fries, which are delicious and gluten-free. However we did stay at the Legoland hotel, had breakfast which the chef made separately, same with dinner. I did not get sick, and the food was great.
Ate at a buffet pizza and pasta place that I was a little nervous about. I spoke with the cashier and right away another employee came over to inform me of what could be done for someone with celiac. The staff member was knowledgable about what they were offering that day. Told me how it was prepared (whole separate area with only two employees who handle the gluten free food so there's no worry about cross contamination) and what to stay away from, like the salad bar. I would eat here again.
We ate lunch at the park and at the Dragon’s Den hotel restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Both times I spoke directly with the chef and he told me of everything available and about cross contamination. I was pleasantly surprised!!! Didn’t get sick at all. The allergy info isn’t on the menu, but as soon as you tell them you have celiac, they take all precautions! We ordered room service for dinner and my meal was bagged separately from my family’s as well as noted all over about celiac.
Went this past weekend and was so impressed with all my meals. Everywhere we ate I was able to speak with a chef who went over everything that I could eat. I wasn’t charged any additional fees for any gluten free items which was amazing. The dinner buffet at the Legoland California Hotel had many options. Just make sure to speak with staff, they were very accommodating.
Granny's Apple Fries were yummy! Had the brisket at Knights Smokehouse. It was good. They carved in the kitchen to avoid contamination. All of the meats are gf. The only sides that are gf is fruit and chips. Most of the items on the menu at Skyline Cafe can be made gf. They have gf buns for the burgers and sandwiches. Fries are gf. Flatbreads can be made on gf crust. Had the pepperoni flatbread and it was good. The breakfast buffet at Bricks was good. The chef will get anything from the kitchen if you prefer. Eggs, omelettes, meats, yogurt, fruit and potatoes are all gf. They have 3 types of gf muffins, gf bread and gf pancakes as well if you ask. One of the chefs will walk you through the buffet and go over everything. I had the gf pancakes one day and they were ok. The next day I had an omelette and that was really good.
Burger stop got sick from kids meal burger & Df, was suppose to be gf, but was not. Burger tasted horrible in top of the contamination :(
Pizza and pasta buffet was fantastic! Spoke with pizza chef who answered all our questions. Pizza was great and pretty reasonable cost-wise! Offered a salad bar as well and all dressings were gf, just be careful about cross contamination. Ice cream at castle ice cream-server scooped it from the back. All of the above makes for a stress free and over the top experience.
Bricks Restaurant in the Legoland Hotel is amazing. Chef Dan patiently answered all of our questions and brought us food from the back in any instance where we were concerned about the buffet. On top of that he brought us a bag full of Lucy's cookies and a GF brownie. Thank you Chef Dan!!
We had very mixed experiences at Legoland. Pizza and Pasta Mania does have GF pasta and pizza options. You have to request that the kitchen make it for you. Apparently the first person I spoke to didn't relay the information to the cooking staff properly. When I went to check, it hadn't even been started. It still took another 30 minutes or so after that. So make sure that you ask to speak to the manager or head chef.
Our next meal stop was Wolves Den Grill in the Waterpark. I confirmed that the hot dog weiner was gluten free and ordered it without the bun. I didn't see this but my sister did...the kitchen sent it out on the bun and then someone took it out of the bun before serving it to us!
Our final meal was at the Knights Smokehouse BBQ and they were EXCELLENT. Knew the gluten free options and were very conscientious about avoiding possible cross contamination.
We really enjoyed our visit at Legoland. We ate lunch at Pizza Mania. We all ordered individual pizzas and my celiac son got a freshly made gluten free cheese pizza. He said it was good and ate the whole thing. It looked like a similar consistency as udis. There were many other places that had gluten free options as well. Even the little drink carts had gluten free chips and snacks on them. We also got granny's apple fries which are also gluten free. They were delicious and we all loved them. I did my research ahead of time, to look at our options for food. For anyone who has not been to Legoland, at the entrance just inside they have park maps and also a food menu brochure. I thought that was great so we could see where we could all eat in the park.
My son and I are GF. We spent 2 days at the park (3 nights at the hotel). The hotel has a breakfast buffet included. Just talk to one of the employees and they will run down everything that is GF - tons of options - and will even make you things like pancakes, muffins, toast, etc. In the park we ate lunch at 2 different places - the Garden Cafe and Urban Kitchen. Garden cafe has yummy bread and can do the kids kit gf and I had a yummy turkey-bacon-avocado sandwich GF. Urban Kitchen had quite a few choices. My son had a hot dog with GF bread. They prep and toast the bread in a separate GF toaster. I had the chicken stir fry. Ask for it GF. Someone else comes over with a clean pan, clean utensils and makes it all GF while you watch. They have GF soy sauce too! It was delicious. Takes a little extra time but totally worth it.
Great pizza! Love that it's the same price and still all-you-can eat for GF. The manager came out and talked to me and made us 3 GF pizzas!
I know everyone raves about legoland being GF so we were very excited to try! And first off I have to say they do have many options. But we had such a HORRIBLE experience at the all-u-can eat pasta/pizza place it overshadowed our whole experience. We are a Gf family due to 3 of us having severe allergies, so we were thrilled to find good reviews of the restaurant. Well there are 6 of us and we asked for gf pizza and pasta, we talked directly to the manager that day and he seemed bothered by our request and was not informative or helpful at all. He seemed to want us to guess at what our options were and seemed bothered by our request for gf garlic bread too. And it's not a cheap option for 6 of us so we weren't sure how much to order for us all to eat and he gave no help in trying to figure that out either. So we finally ordered 4 pizzas and 4 pasta dishes. He kept saying, "the pasta takes a really long time". Yes I know I cook it often, and it's really not that long. Well the pizza came out in about 20 minutes, not a big deal. Was yummy. No pasta, 10 minutes later he comes out and says, "it will be about 10 more minutes, the pasta takes a really long time." Ok we smiled. And waited, and waited. My GF allergic 10 year old really wanted her buttered pasta and so we continued to wait. No manager ever came back to the table. We were missing precious park time for my kids. After an HOUR WE FINALLY JUST WALKED OUT. Obviously you pay ahead of time. It's experiences like this that make it very hard for kids with allergies to not feel bad or as if they are a bother to people who are preparing their food. It was so disappointing.
The pizza and pasta buffet was amazing! They made me gf pasta as well as gf/df bread sticks that were so good! The manager was super knowledgable. Maybe the best place I've eaten since going gf.
We ate at the Market near the Driving School. Chef made my stir fry especially gluten free, cooked in a clean pan and gave me a brand new huge bottle of gluten free soy sauce. The meal was delicious, even my non gf hubby loved it. They also offer all sandwiched on gf bread, even pb&j! Picky hubby said this is the best food he's ever had at an amusement park! Oh and can't forget yummy GF apple fries at Granny's! SO glad I got to partake and not just sit and watch everyone enjoy!
Wow is all I can say! Legoland was the best amusement park we have ever been to when it comes to having allergies. Everyone was so attentive to our allergies and helpful. The chef even made a plate for my son that has celiac and a dairy allergy. They also walked us thru all the food options that were safe! Thank you legoland for making our experience a good one, and making mommy not have to worry the whole time.
Every restaurant pretty much has gluten free! There Granny Smith apple fries, the parks known snack, is even gluten free! I had the hamburger, and it was good good! Didn't taste bad at all, and it was actually not bad on the price! :-)
Perhaps the best Gluten Free Amusement Park we've ever been to!The Staff at the Pizza and Pasta Buffet near the Tecnic X coaster was awesome! The manager, Patrick, personally served us 2 yummy GF pizzas and 2 macaroni dishes. Fresh Parm and butter pasta was the best. The salad bar was fresh, clean and GF friendly. They couldn't guarantee GF salad dressings due to proximity to croutons but safe vinegar and oil were available. All you can eat GF for about $10 adult and 8$ for kids for lunch. Great deal, great GF meal!We also at at Castle Burger and enjoyed the GF buns on our cheeseburgers. The Apple Fries were cinnamon goodness and GF as they are just corn starch cinnamon sugar and apples. Not sure of the vanilla whipping Creame. Get done and watch the kids play at the climbing castle nearby.
