The restaurant did have gluten free options but no actual menu. The server was willing to work with you depending on what you wanted..but it seems like it depends on the server to tell you what that can and can't get..the portions were pretty big and the food wasn't too bad, although for the price I'm not sure I'd want to go back.
Mussels app was delicious. Ordered broiled flounder asked for no flour... my mistake as it came with bread crumbs instead! Need to be specific with your waiter.
Gluten free pasta, very clear about not having any sauce but marinara.
We go to Wildwood every summer. 2 years ago I didn't specify that I am celiac and ordered things that should be gluten free. I figured the fact I got sick was because of this but we went back this year and I did specify and I still got sick. The shrimp scampi I didn't eat because they breaded it, who breads shrimp scampi? They don't tell you that the filet mignon comes with onions let alone onion straws. This year when I told them I was celiac. They said no problem. I ordered the stuffed pepper appetizer and they served it with three pieces of bread on the plate. Everything treated great but when it hit my tummy I was a mess.
We ate here last night as part of a large party and I had a wonderful gluten free meal. They can make most of the dishes that would call for flour with cornstarch instead and they have gf pasta. I spoke with a staff member who has to live gf and she helped me with finding a safe option. I went with the flounder franchaise and it was phenomenal. The only safe salad dressing is the oil and vinegar, according to staff. I couldn't really have any of the table appetizers or the bread, of course, but I still brought home half of my dinner, so portion sizes are pretty big. When my dish came out to the table, it had a toothpick in the center to show that it was the gf one because the person next to me also ordered the flounder franchaise and they were being extra cautious to make sure I got the right one. The place is byob and the staff is very helpful and courteous. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I was informed that wait staff does sometimes turn over each year with the start of the new tourist season, so please make sure that your server understands the importance of the gluten free diet and if you feel uncomfortable with your server's knowledge, ask for the manager's assistance.
