AMAZING! Had the hot honey pizza with a hard cider. Service was fabulous and because it was our first time there we got a free dessert! I had a super moist and delightful GF/DF cupcake. We will be back!

I traveled from the Akron area to this local favorite recommended by the local gig group. I went for pizza and Mac-n-cheese! The service was super friendly and quick. I got my wine and water quickly. The menu was somewhat confusing as it is an all encompassing menu, with specific marking for items that can be be made gluten free. Everything is house made except the crust. The waitress helped me with my selections and I had the special pizza, a Rueben with all the fixings. I also ordered a Mac-n-cheese sans lobster. The pasta was just good. Not a lot of depth of flavor but ok. The Rueben pizza was fantastic. Hot and juicy and bubbly and a nice crunch crust baked to perfection. It was the highlight of the meal. Open atmosphere and a band and outdoor patio with couches and benches was going on with a live band. Overall very good but a little pricey as I left with a $50 tab.
Excellent food and clearly marked menu for gluten free items. Waiter was knowledgeable and went and confirmed anything he wasn't sure on with the chef. They carry Greens one of the best gluten free beers and all the food we got was delicious.

I love Local Roots. They have a wide range of gluten free items available. The morning after mac and cheese is good and I love their pizzas. Unfortunately no bun or bread options and fried foods are not an option. Do make sure to let them know about any food allergies. The staff is usually pretty knowledgeable or will check if they don’t know!

Lots of appetizers listed as gluten-free on the menu but almost all are deep-fried. Unfortunately, they do not have a dedicated gluten-free fryer. Ordered the gf mac and cheese, was really disappointed with the lack of cheese sauce and overall flavor. Good thing the salt shaker was nearby. Also had the Caesar side salad which was good.

We always look for places that have a changing and seasonal infused menu. What I mean by that is the kitchen knows what is in their dishes because they rely more on seasonal veggies and foods than processed. Thus they know what is and is not in their food.
Local Roots is very knowledgeable about their food. I have never had a concern with ordering or eating here.

There is a separate gluten free menu you can pull up on your phone from their website or they have them to provide for you. We got the Buffalo chicken dip and GF cauliflower pizza and it was very good. They also have GF desserts! I had the GF cheesecake which was very good! Our server was knowledgeable and helpful with selecting menu items

We had 1 celiac, two vegetarians, 1 vegan, a total carnivore, and a kiddo. Everyone was able to find something here that was absolutely delicious

Dedicated GF menu. Clearly labeled cross contamination items. Pleasant staff. Amazing taste.

Gluten free lobster macaroni and cheese. Need I say more? Even my non-GF friends were jealous!
Yes
Dedicated and extensive gluten free menu. They even have gluten free pasta! Server took things very seriously. Explained precautions taken and that there would be bread crumbs on my meal but that they were gluten free.

Thank you very much for your review. I would love the opportunity to learn more about your experience. Only through communication can we confirm your experience, correct, prevent and/or learn from your experience. We are able to work with most allergies. We also take allergies very seriously. With that said, there is always room for error. For example: Did you tell your server and hosts? Did you receive a Gluten Free Menu to order from? Did a manager check-in with you? We are always trying to improve and train the importance of allergies to staff. Any dialogue would be greatly appreciated. You are able to reach me directly at [email protected]
I live nearby and have eaten here multiple times. I have NEVER had a reaction from here, and the food is great. They need to bring in a few more beer choices, all they had the last few times was the Green's beers which are ok, but very strongly flavored. Knowledgeable friendly staff!

Had the gluten free Mediterranean pizza. It was to die for and had no reaction. My dining partner who is much more sensitive than I owing to her Crohn's disease and can't have the slightest bit of grain had the salad with grilled scallops. Both of us did well and the patio in summer is heavenly. Definitely will be back to try other items. So much to choose from gluten free and celiac friendly on their menu.

Service was excellent; friendly staff; excellent tasting food. However, both of the gluten-sensitive members of the family had reactions. My wife (less sensitive) only experienced a headache, while my son barely made it home in severe gastric distress. We told them ahead of time about the sensitivities. Both had pizza marked on the menu as "celiac friendly" which is supposedly a step safer than just "gluten free." This is an otherwise sweet place that we could have frequented - sadly now we won't be back...
[EDIT: I moved this from 1 star to 3 stars. The owner contacted me about our experience and we had a long e-mail correspondence. It is clear they care deeply about serving gluten-sensitive patrons, and are working to learn from our experience. I believe we may give this restaurant another try.]
I agree with Ms. Black on taste and quality and service. Unfortunately I too had the cod. Unfortunately I had an episode. Will not eat there Again.
I have a long list of food intolerances as well as a gluten intolerance. When we asked, they brought me a menu with items marked that could be made gluten free. They even made a distinction for items that were Celiac friendly. Our waitress, who has Celiac's, was very helpful. She went to the kitchen several times to ask questions for me. I had the grilled Walleye on potato cakes and it was delicious.

I've been meaning to check out this place ever since it opened but it's a bit far from my house so we haven't made it there yet. So, when my husband's basketball team had a game right near there, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to check the place out.
We arrived there around 9:30pm on a Friday evening. Surprisingly, they were still busy but we were able to get a table with no problem.
At our table, I reviewed the menu to find I had to ask for the special gluten free menu. The waiter brought it right over to us.
The items that were available gluten free were highlighted in orange on the menu.
After careful consideration, I decided to go with the fish and chips. Our waiter explained the cod is seasoned and broiled instead of breaded and fried.
Our food arrived shortly after ordering, which was perfect because we were both starving after a long night.
My fish came with roasted red skin potatoes but I decided to try to asiago cheese scalloped potatoes.
The dinner ended up being delicious. I'm a big fan of cod and eat it frequently when I am getting ready for a fitness competition. We also use it a lot at our house with tacos and gluten free breadcrumbs to make a variety of dishes.
The cod was cooked perfectly and there was just enough cheese in the potatoes to taste great and not be too greasy or over powering.
My husband said he always knows when I really like something at a restaurant because I won't offer him a taste in order to save every bite for myself.
He had a bison burger with cheese, bacon and avocado, which he really enjoyed as well.
I'd highly recommend Local Roots as a great gluten free option!
Our newest GF go-to spot. Excellent menu options and allergy safe service. Give it a try!
