Review of Local Roots

Service was excellent; friendly staff; excellent tasting food. However, both of the gluten-sensitive members of the family had reactions. My wife (less sensitive) only experienced a headache, while my son barely made it home in severe gastric distress. We told them ahead of time about the sensitivities. Both had pizza marked on the menu as "celiac friendly" which is supposedly a step safer than just "gluten free." This is an otherwise sweet place that we could have frequented - sadly now we won't be back...

[EDIT: I moved this from 1 star to 3 stars. The owner contacted me about our experience and we had a long e-mail correspondence. It is clear they care deeply about serving gluten-sensitive patrons, and are working to learn from our experience. I believe we may give this restaurant another try.]
