We heard about Luciano’s from several friends. You definitely need to make a reservation. We had absolutely delicious mozzarella sticks to start. I chose the chicken parm. It was really good, but not for those who don’t appreciate a sweetened sauce. The pasta that came on the side was not my favorite. However, the gluten free bakery?!? Get out of town -EVERYTHING is gluten free. I tried bites of the cannoli, macaron, and turtle cheese cake. I would have tried the carrot cake, but need to still be able to fit in my pants. The desserts are spectacular. Will be going back to try the pizza next! Oh, and our server was a delight!
I have done take out and dining in with Luccianos a ton of times. Almost always a great experience and I ask to speak to the chef every time to compliment the amazing food and relaxing gluten free experience.
However, the last time I got take out it was subpar at best and I got very sick. I couldn’t believe that it was the Luccianos food that was making me have a bad gluten reaction, so I tried it again for left overs the next day. It was definitely the food I got. I was shocked because I never had an experience like that with them. 90% of the time the food tastes amazing and it’s hot, fresh, and contains no cross-contamination. This last time and the time before with take out was unfortunately not the case. Stay vigilant when ordering food in places outside of your home.
We’ve eaten here twice safely! Food is delicious, perfectly balanced flavors, and not too salty, and the wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable about food restrictions. Menu has GF pasta, apps, and pizza, tons of GF desserts, hard cider on tap, and one GF beer. Highly recommend!
I ordered a GF pizza and an order of chicken tenders for pick up. I have to say that the pizza was probably the best GF pizza i have ever had. Went with just cheese for toppings, with this being the first time ordering it. Next time i will add more toppings. :)
As for the GF tenders, they were huge. An order was 2 tenders that were the size of chicken breasts. They were very tasty.
I had no issues with either the pizza or the chicken.
I believe the woman at the front desk said the pizza crust is made in house.
Oh almost forgot, also purchased the oatmeal cream pie and a peanut butter swiss roll. Both were wonderful. The oatmeal cream pie was huge!
Sadly my partner and I were mislead on the celiac precautions. The menu clearly states to mention if you have celiac, the owners wife has celiac and our waitress was educated. We thought we were safe. We had the gf lasagna, meatballs and even the gf desserts. It was all so delicious. 48 hours later my (celiac) partner is having a horrible flare up. This meal has been the only change in our typical diet. I called the manager to let them know that there may be some contamination and he came back to say they take all the precautions. He seemed sorry but not enough to not leave us feeling dismissed.
I love this place! I was drawn to it because of the GF desserts (all desserts are GF because the owner/baker has celiac). I tried the cheese tortellini with shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce and the chicken Marsala. Both were delicious!! I had the turtle cheesecake, also delish! Great service, good portions (the cheesecake could satisfy 2-4 people), nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back often! ETA 8/28/2024 everything is still GF and delicious!!
Absolutely delicious! It might even be the best chicken Parmesan I have ever had! The portions were more than generous… Gluten Free dinner roll and dipping oil was spectacular and I can’t even tell you about dessert because I am too FULL to eat it right now! The blackberry cheesecake looks delicious! And we also got an oatmeal cream pie.We had to go up twice to look at the desserts to make a decision! I highly recommend… Will definitely be back!
I had a delicious Chicken Marsala with gluten free pasta. I also have tree nut & sesame allergies. I felt fine after dining here. My daughter has dairy & tree nut allergies and she ate safely here too. The restaurant was extraordinarily clean and the staff was so friendly & welcoming.
They do offer GF cupcakes which must be very popular because we saw at least 25 people come in to buy them from the case at the hostess stand. Due to also having a tree nut allergy I didn't try it - there were macarons in the same case which have almonds.
We have eaten here many times and they have always have GF Food and treat for my wife who is gluten-free.
Excellent food, excellent gf options, poor customer service.
I was delighted to find Luccianos last year and had several positive experiences. However, I won’t be back after my last visit.
I have many allergies and was understanding from prior engagement that the chicken parm was OK for me. During my last visit, I was told they are cooked in the same fryer as some allergens. I asked if they could pan fry it and was told no. I asked the waitress other questions she had to go back to the kitchen about. I thought someone from the kitchen may come speak with me, but they didn’t. I also didn’t get answers to the questions I asked. I easily get overwhelmed and emotional about food accommodations, especially when I thought I had already done my research and it doesn’t work out. I ordered something I knew was safe and figured I’d try to reach out to the restaurant later to understand what was safe for me.
My father got chicken Marsala and substituted bolognese sauce. He loved his meal, but was challenged by the amount of water in the sauce and a $6.95 up charge for the substituted sauce that he wasn’t consulted about. My mother got a fish sandwich and thought it was awful. It looked like a tiny, frozen filet o fish served on a giant bun. I did feel bad for her.
A few weeks later she told me about the negative email she sent to the owners about our experience. She did not get a response. From her description, I felt like her email detailed a harsher experience than we faced so I wrote one from my perspective. Mainly, I wanted to be able to know what I could eat long-term.
Tina, the owner, never actually made any comments about the negative experience but told me she would call me that Tuesday (1/9) to discuss allergies. She did not call.
I followed up 1/22 and 2/14 without response. 2/25 I replied to note that it shouldn’t take this much effort to understand what is safe to eat and wished the business luck. She immediately replied to tell me that I could reach out to her that Thursday or Friday to discuss (5-7 days later).
No one should have to put so much effort into feeling safe about their meal. It’s sad because I really loved the food.
Dedicated gluten-free menu, I had the pesto tortellini and it was delicious! The gluten-free rolls were OK but I appreciate them having them on the menu. I love the cheesecake! Our server said all the desserts are gluten-free.
Food-delicious. Waitress-outstanding.
I got violently ill from cross contamination. I know it wasn't a food poisoning sitch because my partner and I shared the dish and she (non celiac) was fine.
This was a total bummer because the food was absolutely delicious. But as for safety, not so much.
I ordered way too much. A cheese pizza, mozzarella sticks, meatballs, and dinner rolls. Everything was great, even though it's not dedicated I didn't have any issues after besides stuffing myself silly on all the good food. Pizza dough seems to be fresh and not a frozen crust. If it is frozen they do a good job of hiding that. The pizza might but of been the best I've had but it was certainly the best GF one I've had that was just a basic sauce and cheese. Will try some toppings next time but if a place can't wow you with just cheese and you have to spend more money to enjoy it then it's not actually that good. Mozz sticks I never would of thought were GF, same with the meatballs. Dinner rolls were good and came with dipping oil, but you could tell they were GF.
We had lunch here yesterday. We are new to a celiac diagnosis for my son. He has been struggling a little thinking he can never eat his favorite foods again. Lucciano's was amazing. We got GF rolls for the table and my son had the GF pasta w meatballs and loved it. My Italian, never had GF pasta before, husband even liked his pasta when he tried a few bites. All desserts are GF and apparently the baker is GF so is very cautious about any cross contamination. My husband's dish and mine were brought out separate from our son's and his was flagged GF. We ordered a slice of chocolate cake and a slice of carrot cake and both were huge and amazing. We will definitely go back soon.
Would be a lot happier if they didn’t pick and choose when they wanted to do take out. At first I was told they don’t do take out of Friday and Saturday because it gets too busy, I totally understand. Then call during the week and you find out they won’t do take out if the cook isn’t in the mood to do it. Food is great just the service sucks
