TexMex is my comfort food. I love this place and we eat here often. The staff is familiar with items that are safe, if not they are willing to ask or customize it for you.

In addition to celiac I have a life threatening allergy to wheat. Despite explaining this my taco came on a flour tortilla. Unbelievable. Do not recommend.

I asked for corn tortillas instead of chips. Tested the tortillas with my Nima sensor and found gluten. They were thicker than the tortillas they use in their enchiladas. Chips tested safe. Green chicken enchiladas, rice and beans also safe. On my next trip I had carne asada with green beans. Very good.

The cook explained that they throw everything in the same fryers and there is cross contamination for fried things everywhere, but he was nice and understanding about it. π€·π»β disappointing.

Celiac friendly! Menu is marked and staff was knowledgeable.

Have a lot of gluten free options, but not a lot that are vegetarian. Food was really good! Chris helped our table, and was super awesome because he saved me from eating the glutened chips (they baked us special chips, can’t use the fryer). Pretty good margaritas too!

I love Lupe Tortilla!! I have eaten here numerous times with no issues. I love the chips & bean dip. The chips are safe for those with Celiac Disease. Fajitas are great with corn tortillas. Highly recommend Lupe Tortilla for Tex-Mex!!
Yes
We have eaten here many times without getting sick. Great corn tortillas. The chips are fried in the same fryer as flour tortillas so not safe for celiac. 4 stars because we were told of the chips and cross contamination after eating a few.
Place looks like a fun place to hang out- great patio-firepit setup - probably very fun when it's not 100 degrees out. Food was great. Server stephen was very familiar with gf diets. Manager took us to our table and explained the kitchen & gf choices. They make their own corn tortillas - Service was timely & dining areas were very clean. I ordered the signature chicken lupe and was very happy with taste and portion size.
Not the best Mexican restaurant I've experienced but they were pretty knowledgeable with keeping my meals GF. The margarita was delicious which made up for the dry & small portion of pork in my carnitas tacos. It was more like a lettuce taco topped with a few chunks of pork, not pulled pork like typical carnitas.

If you have celiac's disease, please consider not eating here.

gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu, and it is all on the same menu, so no awkward moment when you want to order, and the food is excellent!
A Mexican restaurant that understands about Celiac disease. Their menu is marked with the items that gluten cannot be removed. All other items do not contain gluten. They are very aware and it’s a safe place to go and not worry about getting ill!

I was excited reading another review that said Lupe's chips were cooked in a dedicated fryer and almost dove into the basket on our table. Thankfully I waited and the waitress confirmed NOT a dedicated fryer at this location. She did offer baked tortillas that would take 15-20 minutes.
I spoke with the manager before we were seated. The manager confirmed that most menu items don't contain any gluten ingredients. The wheat symbol notates the few menu items with gluten containing ingredients. HOWEVER, (a) their friers are shared, so all fried menu items, including the chips, are cross contaminated and therefore not safe for those with Celiac Disease, and (b) the corn tortillas are made in the same pans as the flour tortillas, so all menu items that include tortillas, e.g. fajitas, tacos, etc., are cross contaminated and therefore not safe for those with Celiac Disease. There is one exception for the tortilla rule the manager mentioned: the tortillas used for the enchiladas are premade corn tortillas from a bag, so the corn tortillas in the enchiladas should not be cross contaminated. The manager continued to advocate for me in the back of the house when they were prepping my food to avoid cross contamination.
Also, I just wasn't impressed with the taste of their food.

I am writing in the restaurant because I’m so frustrated. I have eaten here MANY times and been reassured by many employees that it was safe to eat fried foods. These include the ones marked on the menu as gluten free. There is no guarantee that these items are safe. The frier is “usually” chips but also could include an occasional item with gluten. I’ve not gotten sick before but as we know with celiac the reaction isn’t always immediate. Downright dangerous.

They had a dedicated fryer for chips. Waitress wasn’t sure but then went back and confirmed from the kitchen that did. Food was good. Didn’t get sick.
