We went for lunch yesterday on our way through Cleveland. The atmosphere was fun, service was fast and loved the food. No issues whatsoever and my son is very reactive. We picked 1/2 lbs of meat and shared sides. We simply asked for no Rye bread. Everything else on the menu is Celiac GF and they do not fry anything that is not GF.

Servers explained what my son could/could not have and were very helpful. GF bread/bun options available. He said the food was delicious and had no reaction.

Great experience at Mables. I felt comfortable coming here after seeing other reviews! I felt that there were so many options for GF and staff responded so well and offered alternatives. Honestly, just about everything on the food menu can be done gluten free.

Felt very safe eating here. The server was very knowledgeable of Celiac and let me know that I could have everything on the menu except for one item, provided I sub the potato bun for a GF bun. She assured me they would change gloves and understood the severity of cross contamination. Had the pulled pork and fried potatoes - delicious and had no issues after.

Enjoyed our meal. Server very knowledgeable about GF and clarified allergy vs preference. 90% of the menu is GF and all their fryers are GF. The GF bun for my sandwich was very tasty and the fried potatoes side was yummy too. Only downside is if you’re hoping for dessert - only GF option would be vanilla ice cream.

Spent the weekend in Cleveland and so glad we stopped here. Food was delicious, and all servers were aware of gluten free needs. We had ribs and a pork sandwich with a gf bun. They said they changed gf buns recently and it was definitely one of the better ones we have tried.

Most of the menu is GF and our server knew right away how to handle someone with celiac. She was able to point out what not to order. Lots of options to choose from and delicious food.

The food was DELICIOUS! The server was awesome at double checking menu items that he was unsure of . I have celiac and very sensitive, I ate here safely and enjoyed some good BBQ. Sauces were GF , they had no issue changing gloves and took cross contamination and my celiac seriously!

My husband has Celiac and I'm lactose intolerant. We're traveling in Cleveland and found this spot through this app - so thankful for the app! We had a good experience here. Probably 90% of the menu is gf, and the server seemed to understand about cross-contamination, though not actually Celiac. When we said Celiac, he said he'd flag our order with "gluten allergy," which made us feel comfortable about cc, but I wine what they understand about Celiac. At any rate, the food was good and we were happy to have a safe place to eat!

If I could give 7 stars…
I mean OMG. I have (very sensitive) Celiac and 95% of this absolutely incredible menu is gluten free. I’ve had BBQ in Austin, Atlanta and more and this restaurant can stand on its own no problem. Highly recommend for all Celiacs and will return!

Almost everything in menu is gluten free and the staff is well aware of what items are not. Food was delicious and they do not dry anything with gluten so order the fried potatoes! They had a strawberry Kiwi spiked seltzer on tap that was fantastic. Our server was so accommodating and answered all our questions. This is a great spot to go before a baseball or basketball game in Cleveland as it’s only a 5-10 min walk.

Most meats and sides are GF. The original BBQ sauces uses tamari, so it does have SOY. Pork cracklings can be made without the pickling spice (which has gluten in it). Baked beans are GF and DF. They don’t deep fry anything with gluten, so deep fryer items are not contaminated. The server was very knowledgeable and accommodating when I asked questions. Highly recommend!

Amazing. Always a treat when I can have legit bbq and not get sick from it. Asked a ton of questions. Looks like the pork and lamb ribs are the best bet when it comes to gluten AND dairy free. Also the wings apparently. Sadly no sides seemed safe so did a plain arugula salad. Definitely would come back. Great service!!
Yes
Bartender is quite knowledgeable and was more than willing to confirm what is safe. Meats ( except Keilbasa ) are GF, and the sauces are GF though the Aardvark hot sauce is made in a shared facility. Otherwise, nothing breaded or battered gets into the fryers, so do the potatoes. They are heavenly! As the brisket....wow!!!
I got a confirmation that the soy sauce that they use in their BBQ sauce is Tamari, which is in fact GF! Absolutely delicious meats, though they do use a shared fryer for their potatoes.
Looking forward to coming back the next time I'm in town.
Yes
I went a few months ago and based on the other review I ordered the brisket and it was delicious... but I got a stomach ache! I thought it was cause because I cheated on dairy free. Today I returned for lunch and the waitress informed me that the BBQ sauce contains soy sauce! It would make it so much easier if the menu was marked :-). Also switch that soy sauce to gluten free because your BBQ is AMAZING! If you have celiacs or are really sensitive ask lots of questions! If Mabel's can update their menus I would boost to 4 stars 5 stars for a gf BBQ sauce! The turkey and coleslaw was great!

5 stars for the Lean beef brisket. So delicious. I tweeted Michael Symon and he graciously tweeted back and said much of the menu is gluten free. He also said the BBQ sauce is GF. I only gave it three stars bc I like to see for myself the labeling on the menu instead of trusting someone and getting sick. If they made the menu celiac friendly with appropriate labeling this place would get 5 stars. My server didn't seem to care bc they brought my meal out with bread on my plate. I had a friend take the bread off and I ate my brisket after making sure there were no bread crumbs on it. Great place but it would be stellar if there was appropriate care by the server and GF labeling on the menu.
