My 9 year old daughter hasn't been able to eat pizza out since her celiac diagnosis three years ago. Our waitress was incredible, understood cross contamination and watched over the cooks to ensure safety. My daughter had no reaction. One hint. We got there before the dinner rush so these precautions could be taken. May not be the same if they were busy.
My family has never gotten sick, but the options are limited.
Had a knowledgeable staff, that made our dining experience easier. We had gf pizza and breadsticks. Both were great and we are looking forward to returning
when visiting the one in Missoula we discovered there is ONLY gf pizza and 1 dessert. no pasta, hamburgers or sandwiches. very disappointing!
One of the best GF pizzas I've tried, and I've tried a lot, in multiple states!
Separate GF menu, and knowledgeable staff. Took measures to prevent cross contamination. I had a cheese pizza, which was extra satisfying because it was the first real pizza I was able to have after my diagnosis. I'm also allergic to eggs and corn, and their GF crust has no eggs or corn!
the GF menu has a disclaimer about not being safe for celiacs and having a shared kitchen space. They forgot to make my hummus plate GF and replayed it, then I found surprise tortillas in my Cobb salad (not a normal ingredient). Was sick by the time we left. They have lots of GF options but it’s not for celiacs.
This restaurant was good with gluten free, and had great gf pizza that satisfied all my taste buds. The chewy and soft crust was unbelievable! They have a separate gluten free menu with a wide variety of of options. However, they do mention that they take many precautions but they can’t promise it will be completely free of gluten although our daughter has severe celiac and she didn’t get sick. Great service and food quality. I definitely recommend this restaurant. 👍
They did have gluten free pasta and pizza but it’s not celiac friendly. Our waitress was super kind and explained that it was all run on the same line and the ingredients are not separate. My husband had to leave and take my daughter elsewhere while I dined with our other kids.
Holy cow, the food was good! I had tons of GF options. I chose a delicious apple and chicken flatbread on a GF pizza crust and it was AMAZING. The sauce was so delicious. My husband enjoyed his burger (not GF), and my kids LOVED the goldfish on top of their mac and cheese. The kids fruit cups were large, food quality fruit. We also enjoyed the decor and atmosphere. It was my favorite restaurant I visited in Rapid City and I will definitely be back on future trips!
I always wish I could find something gluten free here but have been glutenized every single time I’ve gone. Doesn’t matter what I get, the salads, soups and pizza all have given me horrible issues, even after speaking with the staff about being celiac.
The staff was so friendly. The food was fresh, so tasty and the service was quick! The gluten free menu was fairly large which was incredibly nice and the staff was willing to help with any substitution needed. I’m so glad we don’t have one of these places back home otherwise I’d never cook again!
The waitress seemed to understand the gluten free menu well. We hav eaten here often and have not gotten sick. My girls are super sensitive and have had no reaction. They have good pizzas, salads, and even pasta! My kids were so excited for pasta for a change!!!!
Way too many people chasing fads here, if you look at the gluten free menu, it says this: These menu items, along with noted alterations, do not have any ingredients that inherently contain gluten. However, all of these items are prepared in a common kitchen with the risk of gluten exposure. We cannot recommend these items for customers with celiac disease. Customers with gluten sensitivities should exercise judgment in consuming these menu items. In a nutshell, if you are a hipster chasing fads, this is the place to go. If you are celiac, stay away- company's own words.
I ordered pasta off of the gluten free menu, I saw the waitress write gluten free on the order pad. When my dish arrived it had a breadstick on the side touching the pasta. I told the person who brought me my bowl it was suppose to be gluten free and she said it was, I said the bread is not. She apologized took it back to the kitchen, about 5 minutes later I was brought another bowl. It was either the same bowl that the bread touched the pasta or it wasn't gluten free at all. By the time I arrived home I was the sickest I have been in a long time!
This is my new favorite place to eat! I am both dairy free and gluten free which is hard for most places to accommodate but not for Mackenzie River! I was able to order a pizza which was absolutely delicious and their flourless chocolate cake without any reactions! The server did a great job understanding my concerns and relaying the message to the kitchen staff!
Waitress and Chef confirmed that the pizza is not Celiac safe. The oven has a blower and blows flour over everything in the oven. He recommends either the Tuscan Penne pasta or a salad. The pasta comes in its own pouch and is microwaved. I appreciated them being honest and helping us find a safe solution.
Made me very sick by mixing my ceasar salad in a bowl with croutons. Got mostly through my salad and realized there were crutons crumbs everywhere. Getting a clean bowl would have taken two seconds, and did discuss with them severe gluten allergy beforehand. :(
Definitely NOT celiac friendly. My sister got horribly glutened even after being so cautious and asking about every step of the food preparation process and telling the manager she had a red flag food allergy. They assured her it was celiac safe and then incredibly, negligently contaminated her.
