Fantastic GF pizza! And great salads too! Wait staff is always super friendly and helpful.
This place is amazing for GF. Every time I've asked for GF crust, they make sure to ask if it's allergy related or preference so they can accurately prep the kitchen and carefully make the pizza. Also GF dessert options however by the time I eat a small GF pizza, I have no room left to try their dessert!
The gluten free pizza was amazing. The crust was both crispy and chewy, not soggy. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful at recommending other gluten free options on the menu including appetizers and deserts. The gluten free chocolate cake was heavenly. In addition the restaurant had a very nice comfortable atmosphere. we will definitely be back.
They were out of GF pizza crust but their other foods such as salad and nachos were good.
Way too many people chasing fads here, if you look at the gluten free menu, it says this: These menu items, along with noted alterations, do not have any ingredients that inherently contain gluten. However, all of these items are prepared in a common kitchen with the risk of gluten exposure. We cannot recommend these items for customers with celiac disease. Customers with gluten sensitivities should exercise judgment in consuming these menu items. In a nutshell, if you are a hipster chasing fads, this is the place to go. If you are celiac, stay away- company's own words.
I ordered pasta off of the gluten free menu, I saw the waitress write gluten free on the order pad. When my dish arrived it had a breadstick on the side touching the pasta. I told the person who brought me my bowl it was suppose to be gluten free and she said it was, I said the bread is not. She apologized took it back to the kitchen, about 5 minutes later I was brought another bowl. It was either the same bowl that the bread touched the pasta or it wasn't gluten free at all. By the time I arrived home I was the sickest I have been in a long time!
This is my new favorite place to eat! I am both dairy free and gluten free which is hard for most places to accommodate but not for Mackenzie River! I was able to order a pizza which was absolutely delicious and their flourless chocolate cake without any reactions! The server did a great job understanding my concerns and relaying the message to the kitchen staff!
Waitress and Chef confirmed that the pizza is not Celiac safe. The oven has a blower and blows flour over everything in the oven. He recommends either the Tuscan Penne pasta or a salad. The pasta comes in its own pouch and is microwaved. I appreciated them being honest and helping us find a safe solution.
Made me very sick by mixing my ceasar salad in a bowl with croutons. Got mostly through my salad and realized there were crutons crumbs everywhere. Getting a clean bowl would have taken two seconds, and did discuss with them severe gluten allergy beforehand. :(
Definitely NOT celiac friendly. My sister got horribly glutened even after being so cautious and asking about every step of the food preparation process and telling the manager she had a red flag food allergy. They assured her it was celiac safe and then incredibly, negligently contaminated her.
I have celiacs and a soy allergy. They are always excellent about cross contamination and online they have all their menu items listed with the allergens they contain. We eat there often and I have never gotten sick. My go to place to eat with confidence! The staff is also excellent in dealing with allergies and not making you feel like it's a hassle but their concern for your food safety.
Their gluten free pizza was some of the best I have had & being able to have the flourless cake for dessert was amazing. I did not have any problems with cross contamination. I do not have celiac but I am allergic to gluten- I was very happy with my dinner. My husband and I will be going back for sure.
My 9 year old daughter hasn't been able to eat pizza out since her celiac diagnosis three years ago. Our waitress was incredible, understood cross contamination and watched over the cooks to ensure safety. My daughter had no reaction. One hint. We got there before the dinner rush so these precautions could be taken. May not be the same if they were busy.
I usually wait until the day after to review a place (waiting for any reaction), but this place wasnt hittin on much. Pretty place, clean inside, but our waitress was pretty much awful. I regret picking this place on our cross country trip, but the good news is we dont have to return. I'm the only gf'er in my fam, and hopefully my pizza truly was gf, it wasnt the worst, but def not a $12 pizza. My sons chicken tenders were suppose to have waffle fries and they came with normal ones (not a huge deal, but a disappointment to him), my daughters pizza came out quite a while after everyone elses meal, then we had to flag down waitress for her fruit cup (which wasnt all the same fruits listed). My hubbys salad never showed up. The waitress never checked drinks and seemed more like she would rather be doing anything else. Super disappointing, wont recc or return, will update if I get sick.
May be celiac friendly but other allergens are not listed on the menu and it was very hard for me to order there having celiacs, dairy and egg allergies. Their pizza was disappointing without cheese and I'm pretty sure there was egg in it because I got sick. It was cracker thin and very hard to chew. Not enjoyable for how much it cost. I could see it being super yummy with cheese though.
My family was traveling through Bismarck on our trip from Seattle to Baltimore. Being that three members of my family have celiac disease, I consulted Find Me Gluten Free and was excited that there was a pizza place just across from the hotel we were staying at that served GF pizza. My sons are 3 and 5 and very picky eaters, and adding the celiac thing to that makes eating out challenging. My 5-year-old was so excited to get GF pizza and ordered a beautiful GF cheese pizza. When the waitress brought out the pizza, I was pleasantly surprised. It looked like real pizza. I couldn't believe my eyes, so I tried it. I was so shocked by how much like real pizza it looked and tasted (the texture was fantastic) that I verified with the waitress that it was in fact GF. She confirmed that it was; she even said, "It's really good, right?" But it wasn't. My poor boy ate almost the entire pizza. And the next day, as we drove to Minneapolis, he had diarrhea the ENTIRE TIME. There were quite a few stops and some accidents. I had to put him in a diaper because bathrooms were not appearing as frequently as they were needed. He was so sick and embarrassed. I don't know if she brought the wrong pizza or if the GF pizza was coated in wheat flour, but there was definitely gluten in his food that night because everything else he had eaten that day I had provided. Celiacs beware.
