You know you are in the right place when you walk in, and the first question is, “Is anyone in your party Gluten-Free?” You say, yes, and are handed a complete menu of GF options. Once seated, you are presented with GF bread. This first time, I tried the GF chicken parmigiana, which tastes even better than any other chicken parm, maybe because I haven’t had it in six months. The GF penne a la vodka was delicious as well. A side of veggies was large enough for four people. All of the portions are generous, both GF and non-GF. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his non-GF meal as well, and we both have lunch in the fridge for tomorrow. Everything GF is made separately and marked accordingly. What really made our night, however, was when John the owner came over, sat down to chat, and told us how he began serving GF meals over fifteen years ago. He reassured this GF newbie that it would get easier, and that I was safe eating at his restaurant. In the six months since I was diagnosed, I have not felt so safe and cared for anywhere. This may be our first meal here, but it’s certainly not our last. Thank you, John and staff, for all that you do. 🏆

I have never seen such a large GF menu at an Italian place! It was such a pleasant surprise and the food was awesome. John was such a pleasure to visit with and he takes great pride in serving the GF community. He brought me the most delicious Italian GF bread, and also garlic cheese sticks with my fried calamari appetizer (with a tomato and pepper sauce then baked with mozzarella). I had GF eggplant rollatini and it was awesome! I can’t wait to fly back to Long Island so I can go back. You won’t be disappointed:)

The owner, John, is so fantastic... even taught me about cross contamination in restaurants and how his restaurant has its own separate area for GF. You can tell he really cares about making everyone happy. First thing the server asks when you walk in is if you are GF. They have an extensive GF menu + desert!! Great prices too!

Delicious food and a wonderful, pleasant staff!! There's such a wide range of gluten free options that I had a hard time deciding what to get. Not only do they have a variety of pizzas but also appetizers, entrees and desserts. Everything was delicious and safe for someone with celiac.

Awesome place!!! Johns pizza recipie is the best hands down. I have to travel from Deer Park to get the pizza but it's worth it. He perfected a crust that's thick And light. I keep telling him to start selling his dough to other places since it's the only one of its kind for gluten free. Dinner dishes are awesome too. Chicken parm is very tasty. We go often as his knowledge and catering to those with celiac disease is top shelf!!

While they do have an extensive gluten free menu the quality of food here is the worst I have ever seen. Went here twice, the first time they served me black rotten clams, I left unhappy and shouldn't of went back. After about 6 months I returned, this time me and the person I went with couldn't even finish anything we ate; for one it was horrible, and two we felt so nauseated. Ended up sick all night with food poisoning, when I called in the morning to let them know they told me nobody else has called so it must of been us... No wonder nobody else called we were the only ones there both times we went. I strongly advise if you go there don't eat any meat at the very least. An absolutely terrible experience.

I was skeptical at first, but we've been back a few times. The pizza is good for gf pizza (I'm admittedly a snob being raised in Brooklyn). The potato bacon soup we had last night felt like cheating.

Awesome place to go with so many gluten free options!! 4 pages with appetizers to desserts and specials! It's so nice to feel normal again and have choices and not worry you're going to end up sick after! Can't wait to go back and try more options available to me! The canolis were homemade and delicious also btw!

I went to Mama's for the first time tonight while meeting friends who live in the area (I live 45 minutes away). I cannot say enough about this gem of a restaurant! I had the GF eggplant parmesan (first time ever since being diagnosed! )...incredible! Splurged before dinner with the GF mozzarella sticks. Yum! Owner, John, came by to check on our experience. ..what a great guy! I will DEFINITELY be returning, and quite often! Wish it was closer to home but absolutely worth the trip. Couldn't ask for a better dining experience! Oh, and the bonus is that they make their own GF Italian bread to start...delicious!

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I don't know if they changed cooks or what but the food isn't nearly as good as it used to be. Yes they have a very extensive gf menu and the staff is well educated about it but the quality of the food is no longer there. Such a shame bc it used to be wonderful!

Delicious food! I love the extensive menu and dessert menu. Unfortunately it's far from where I live so this is definitely a treat. Love that they offer gluten free bread that isn't a piece of udis or Schar brand. Even my gluten eating friend enjoyed it! Hopefully they bring it out to the western part of the island!

I have been there on one or 2 occasions where the food was less than optimal (sent it back to be reheated-they were gracious about it and the food came back where it was heated appropriately).

The Pro's: the GF menu was extensive, the fried calamari was good. They offer gluten free bread.

The Con's: The waitstaff was awful, you want gluten free bread? Wait a half hour and you'll get 1 slice. The chairs were hard, the lighting was harsh, the prices don't match the decor. The baked clams were fishy and gross (how can you mess up baked clams?) and the Chicken Marsala pizza was an under-cooked sloppy mess. I would rather pop a frozen gluten free pizza in the oven, than waste my time and money eating here.

Tried this restaurant because of the good reviews here and it certainly did not disappoint..just about everything on their regular menu was on their gluten free menu as well. the fried calamari was delicious as was my pasta with chicken and veggies..had a nice conversation after our meal with the owner John about the steps they take for not only good food but SAFE food for those such as myself with celiac..i will be going back again and again.
