We stopped here for a weekday lunch after visiting the wildflower center. I loved having so many options to choose from - I had a minor panic when my husband ordered the same enchilada meal as me, but not GF… our server assured me that mine would be brought out separately from the rest of the family’s. That didn’t happen, but the runner seemed to know which plate was which, and my husband confirmed he had flour tortillas and mine were corn. Despite that panic, other safety protocols were great - I got my own GF chips, in a sealed bag, and the family said they were better than the regular chips. Food was all great.
Every Maudie’s we have been to they have been extremely knowledgeable and very careful. They have a dedicated celiac prep/kitchen space. They also bring chips in their own bag so you know they were not used in the same oil as gluten. Very safe! If you’re ever unsure, always talk to their friendly managers :)
This place was fantastic! They brought gf chips in a sealed bag, upon request, and everything on the menu is noted gf or can be made gf. The Diablo queso was tasty and so were the spinach, mushrooms enchiladas. Finished the meal with the Miles of Chocolate -which is naturally gluten-free. Can't wait to go back!
Good food, LOTS of choices--gluten free menu is almost as big as the regular. Knowledgable staff--they always bring a separate bowl to split queso when we order a large and there are gluten free and possibly not gluten free chips on the table--you don't usually even have to ask.
They have their menu marked as gluten-free or gluten-free request, so that’s really great. If you ask for gluten-free chips, still bring you out and sealed bag that is gluten-free safe. It wasn’t my favorite Mexican / Tex-mex food, but it has been around a long time and is popular and it was nice to have a safe meal.
