It is an entirely gluten free restaurant. They have GF pizza, fries and onion rings. The only gluten-containing item they have is some beer. They don’t let people who order it pour it into the glasses in order to keep gluten completely out of their dishwashers. Basically, they take a lot of care.

Apple caramel
A celiac that trusts a restaurant is rare!
Fish and chips
Striped marlin. I didn’t love it with the balsamic sauce but was great with the lemon.
Meat lovers delight with sun dried tomatoes on top.
Fried calamari. I have never seen calamari this big! These are like 4”-5” long

I ordered so much food I don’t usually get to eat! Fried calamari, onion rings, fried everything! All delicious. They suggested I get a small pizza for my flight home, but accidentally made me a large. So I walked thru security and onto the plane with a full pizza! I was so full I had it for my 5am breakfast, lol. The toppings on the Paradise Pesto were delicious. Will be on my must do list when we go back.

110% Gluten Free. Wide selection of gluten free appetizers, entrees, and deserts. The only items in the restaurant that are not gluten free are 4 domestic bottled beers that they require a disposable cup be used so it won’t contaminate the dishwasher. They do have a wide selection of gluten free beer. Bottom line, heaven in Maui.

Absolutely a must!! 100% gluten free restaurant with very friendly staff. We had pizza and a few appetizers, and their fish and chips was probably the best we’ve have. The owners have Celiac, so it’s very nice to have a place to eat where you don’t have the worry about cross contamination! Would eat here every day if I could!

There’s a good reason that there are THIS many reviews (269 at the time of my review) on this website, when generally, even on the mainland, I tend to see maybe 20 or 30 for a given restaurant. It’s because Maui Brick Oven is THAT good. It’s my wife who has the gluten allergy, not me, but if I had walked into this place not knowing a thing about gluten-free dining, I’d have never known it’s completely gf. The food quality stands on its own, and it is wonderful! Also, and I’m sure some of the reviews mention this, but not a lot of them, Maui Brick Oven excels in a lot more than just pizza. They do fried foods perfectly! We had the coconut shrimp as one of our appetizers, and it was terrific! The batter was not too sweet at all (and it is too sweet in many other establishments), and not only that, it was really light and tasty. Add to that the plump, delicious shrimp you can taste (not just the batter), and the great dipping sauce, and that is one heck of an appetizer. In fact, we ordered a second one. That tells you something.

We also had the fish and chips for the main dish, equally outstanding! It was blue marlin, firm, tasty, fried perfectly with another great batter. Almost tempura-like. It is just so great to have a gluten-free fried food dish in the first place, but for it to not be too heavy and make you feel terrible afterwards is a significant accomplishment, and Maui Brick Oven pulls it off. And consistently, based on the many glowing reviews.

While we didn’t have the pizza (shame, I know), we did have the cheesy flatbread as another appetizer, suggested by our fabulous server, Katrina (more on that later), and a great suggestion indeed, because as she said, it does give you a taste for what the pizza would be like if you’re not going to order the pizza as your main dish. Really good crust, both in texture and flavor, and delicious cheese in the right proportion of cheese to crust.

The cheesecake was also excellent. Every single item we had, we loved. We even ordered the penne Alfredo with shrimp to go, to take back to our condo. Yet another winner!

Service was memorably excellent. We were greeted immediately by the hostess, who was very personable, and our server, Katrina was just wonderful. I mean, not just excellent service in the mechanical aspects, but WARM and friendly service. She really did a great job guiding us through the menu, we loved talking to her about everything food related, island related, and other topics. She obviously enjoys her job, and it shows. She showed us a great time. We had a great experience here and would consider returning to Maui SOLELY to eat here. And it’s not like we don’t eat out a lot - we do. It’s just THAT good. We wish them well as they continue to grow.

This restaurant is 100% gluten free, and I didn’t get sick. But man, the food was awful! It felt like I was back in 2008, eating pizza that was soggy and chewy and breadsticks that were rock hard and tasted like a giant, stale saltine cracker. The only saving grace were the mozzarella sticks, but c’mon guys — gluten free food should taste just like normal food!

I may move to Maui just so I can eat here on a regular basis. The entire restaurant is gluten free. Living my best life with Parmesan bread sticks, mozzarella sticks, pizza, fantastic fish and chips, onion rings, cheesecake, and amazing molten lava chocolate cake. One of the best restaurants we have ever been to, including the gluten filled ones.

Things to know: it’s casual, in a strip mall, and only open for dinner 4:00 to 9:00 Mon to Sat. And the family that owns it is adorable and sweet.

According to the staff, it’s the only 100% gluten free restaurant in the state. I LOVED being able to order anything without alterations, questions, or worry. For being GF, the pizza was pretty good. Another night I had the teriyaki chicken, which, for me, was just okay because I don’t care for dark meat (I should’ve asked first). Great sauce though. Wished they had been open for lunch and really wish there was one near me.

Absolutely delicious! Maui Brick Oven is a treasure for anyone looking for gluten free, delicious food. The pizza is cooked perfectly! The crust is light and crispy and does not fall apart! The Fish and Chips were crispy and flaky as were the onion rings. I wish we had one in Sonoma County!

The onion rings were fantastic, made with naturally GF beer (not gluten removed). Sadly, non-dairy cheese options aren't available for their pizza. I opted to build a cheese-less pizza (at my own risk), and do not recommend it. The crust was great, but the overall dish was not good. The server said that guests can bring their own DF cheese if in a sealed bag to have baked on their pizzas.
