Celiac

I'm celiac and the waiter told me the chips were GF, but he did not mention that they did not have a dedicated frying section. If you want to avoid cross contamination I wouldn't recommend going there.

I literally came here because I noticed it was a place to eat across the street from where I rehearse some evenings. I have a lot of food sensitivities (I'm not celiac and do not know if their kitchen is certified gluten free safe but I'm sure they would try to accommodate any need as best they can) so Mexican is always a safe choice for me. I had the Tacos Al Pastor with a corn soft shell and it was delicious! I usually don't like corn soft shell, but Pierce said they get them from a local place who makes them. They are very fresh and actually very good. My friend and I had 3 baskets of chips that were thin and crispy and freshly made and warm. The Salsa is excellent. I have a weird palate when it comes to salsa. This almost had a smokiness to it. Of course with 3 baskets of chips you have to have 3 bowls of Salsa, right? I had 2 very tasty glasses of sweet tea. I'm from the South and sweet tea is important. Theirs is very good. I'm not a drinker, but I'm sure with all else being divine, the cocktails probably are as well. My friend had the Jack Queso Fundito with soft flour tortilla's and it looked amazing. Go back to the top of this review as to why I couldn't even taste it; those blasted food allergies. Pierce suggested crushing up a few chips with the Fundito, which she did, and it added a crunchiness that she really liked. The staff is friendly and efficient and the owner came to our table and was just as warm and welcoming. I appreciate the family atmosphere and the way they've decided to run their place. I'll be back for sure, a lot. Matter of fact we're going to celebrate my birthday there soon!

This restaurant is great! It is family owned and everyone is very friendly. They are knowledgeable about their ingredients and have many gluten free options. We just let our server know that our son has celiac and they are careful about preparation. Our son has never gotten sick eating here. We do bring his own chips because their chips are not cooked in a dedicated fryer, but they are always happy to bring him his own cups of salsa and queso. You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely LOVE Maverick's. They are really friendly & have a special menu which shows which items are gf (it's on a tablet, which is a little weird.) I always get the chicken enchiladas, which are frankly the best I have ever had (including pre-celiac diagnosis). My friend loves the cheese enchiladas. I don't remember all the stuff on their gf menu, but it was pretty extensive. I couldn't recommend this place any more highly.
