I stated that I had a gluten allergy before we ordered, and when we ordered. The server pointed out the items that obviously contain gluten like the ravioli. He used the term gluten intolerance when he talked. I ordered the short rib with an au jus. I was tired and busy talking, so didn’t ask why the sauce was delivered on the side. The waiter saw me tasting a little bit of it and came over to ask if I knew that it had been served on the side because it had wheat flour in it. The runner of course had not explained it. The server needed help understanding why it shouldn’t have been out on the table at all. He came out later and said that he hoped it would make me feel better to know that it was only a small amount of flour that was used in the sauce. I felt a lot more confident in Maynards in the past, but not now.

The waiter was very knowledgeable about what did and did not have gluten in it… but at what price? My sister, who is blessed with the celiac, very politely asked for some potatoes sans soy sauce to appease her hunger. To this the staff replied “We do not have potatoes to share”, implying they would not provide potatoes to the sick and needy only. After much deliberation they finally brought our poor child a bowl of unseasoned potatoes that looked just as pitiful as the service provided to us. Sister now in distress and crying, we left the restaurant upset and with $500 dropped on the bill. Will not be returning , two thumbs down.

According to server, they do not have a dedicated fryer. Only one fryer for both restaurants.

The staff was very knowledgeable about gf restrictions, and made sure the kitchen was aware of our needs. They had gluten-free bread for the table. But beware the fries. I’ve seen some reviews claiming there was a dedicated fryer, but we were told they weren’t gluten free. Make sure you ask.

Love Maynard’s. Well trained staff, knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of options but previous reviewer said “everything” gluten free on their menu. That’s not true. Chicken marinated in beer, fries in fryer w cross contamination, regular buns for burger but can substitute gf bread. Have eaten there 3 times and always happy and well the next day!

They don't charge extra for gluten free bread and their banana bread is gluten free. Watch out, their fryer isn't dedicated to gluten free, but they offered a substitute for fries. Reasonably priced fancier burger compared to other nearby places. The atmosphere is really nice with live music on a Saturday night on the back patio.
