We recently dined here on a Friday night while traveling to Daytona for a college campus visit. As someone who has celiac disease, the staff did not go out of their way to make me feel comfortable with dining at their restaurant.
I had to remind our waiter a couple of times that I needed my meal to be gluten free. I made it a point to let our waiter know I have celiac disease but he made no effort to explain the steps the restaurant takes to prepare the food and keep it safe from cross contamination.
They do have a gluten free menu with a variety of options and also a dedicated fryer so that is a positive.
Dining while traveling is really challenging when you have celiac disease and I feel like eating at McKenna’s Place was a crap shoot.
