Can order online and they have 4 different certified GF pizza options. I always call when getting take out to be safe! I got their hoyse special pizza with GF crust, it was delicious.
Non GF family member happy with the pretzel bited & beer cheese.
Service was fast! Staff confirmed order GF on pick up.
so good! they have 4 options of pizzas that are certified GF (a meat lovers, veggie and two others i didn’t get) and the other toppings can be put on a gf crust but have risk of cross contamination. my waiter explained everything to me and it is also marked on the menu. the crust was really good and the chef came out from the kitchen to bring the food to us and made sure i had the right pizza (since the other people i was with had regular). delicious pizza and very knowledgeable staff when i went (even thought the restaurant was very busy i felt taken care of)
I had a gluten free pizza and was pleased to see they have a gluten free menu with a variety of options.
Horribly sick. Even questioned the waiter and he reassured me salad with little brown crumbs was safe. Manager came over to 100% reassure me as well. Said it was the end of their pecans. They ran out. So I ate the dang spinach salad and some of my GF pizza. Left to go see the baby lambs in colonial Williamsburg and was racing to find a bathroom. Headache and blisters came next. Up all night at the hotel. Stay away.
This place was fantastic! Not really any GF options besides pizza, but you're here for the pizza anyway so not a big deal. they have 4 special pizza options that can be prepared certified GF - my waitress said they're prepared in a separate part of the kitchen. You can also build your own pizza with GF ingredients but there's a greater chance of cross contamination. I had the GF Kosmic Karma pizza and it was fantastic. My 10" GF pizza also looked larger than my husband's regular small pizza, so even though you're paying extra for the GF crust you're getting a bit more pizza. I just wish I was local so I could eat here all the time!
Food good and safe. Very popular so order early or expect long wait.
I asked and was told Information different than some of the other reviews by person at front, who went to ask someone in back to check and confirm. I was told that they don’t have dedicated gluten free space. They do have gluten free pizza for which I was told they change gloves when handling, cook on separate gf pan and seem careful about BUT cook gf pizza uncovered in the same oven as the regular pizzas at the same time those regular pizzas are cooking uncovered, etc. Not safe for my daughters with celiac due to potential cross contamination with airborne flour but others can make their own decisions. No dedicated gf fryer and no gf bread or buns for sandwiches or burgers.
This place makes great pizza (and I’m from NJ). They have standard and unique toppings deliciously executed. All of their pizzas can be made with a GF crust, but they can only assure no cross contamination on 4 or 5 of them. I had the Holy Shitake which was delicious! Their gf crust was nice and thin and leaned toward crispy (so many gf pizza crusts have that unappealing sponginess) and actually had flavor. The regular crusts (my family had both thin and traditional) were reported to be tasty as well, but the big star were the wings. I do not know if there’s a dedicated GF fryer, but my family declared them the best ever!
The nice waiter asked the restaurant manager to come speak to my table about the gluten free precautions they take. I was informed that if I have celiac, to not order the oven baked wings because they are baked in the same oven as the normal pizzas. I am glad that they were honest! She said that the only menu items that they will 100% guarantee are gluten free are their 4 gluten free pizzas (listed in small font at the bottom of the pizza section of the menu). These pizzas are made in a gluten free designated section of the kitchen. I appreciate that the manager took the time to speak with me.
I had the Kosmic Karma with the pesto swirl and it was delicious. There are 3 other gluten free certified pizza options. Their gluten free crust was very good and cooked well. I enjoyed my meal and will be back!
This place went above and beyond to make our meal safe for our son with celiac disease. When they ran out of gluten free pizza dough, they went to another restaurant who uses the same gf dough and bought some just to make our pizza. This general manager went above and beyond to make sure that we got a certified gluten free meal. My son did not get sick and we would go back again in a heartbeat.
We love mellow mushroom because we can expect the same service, quality, and safety regardless of the locations we’ve been too. If you haven’t been before, they have gf crust available and staff is knowledgeable. This location was great, with quick helpful service and pleasant atmosphere. Would go back.
Mellow mushroom has good gluten free pizza but does not do a good job organizing the gluten free completely on the website. I got a gluten free pizza under the gluten sensitive section and scrolled down to the add ons and picked a cookie that was under gluten free next to the gluten free brownie and now I am sick. I would definitely say if you are going to order from here don’t scroll down just go back to the home gluten free page each time so as to avoid mix ups .
Food was good. I had GF pizza and Caesar salad with no croutons.
Love eating here. One of my few safe places in the Burlington and surrounding area. I have never been contaminated here. I’m very sensitive too. They do have a slump on toppings sometimes usually when it’s super busy or at the beginning of the new university year. They have a separate prep area and ingredients for gf. There are dividers and other protocols so the pizza isn’t contaminated during cooking. I always get the house special. I even order curbside and they seal my box with a gf sticker. Never had issues with a Mellow Mushroom and this one has improved greatly in recent years in taste and quality. Best gf pizza in my opinion.
My pizza was brought out from another kitchen area and my brownie was packaged. Crust was ok, toppings were great. One of the better and safer seeming pizzas I’ve had out after my diagnoses. Glad to find it while traveling. Website is informative and has a gluten free filter which most restaurants don’t bother to do.
