I had a great experience ordering to-go. Their website made me feel good about their gluten-free process and how they work to keep things separated. I did not have any reaction from the pizza I ordered. I see some people saying the crust isn’t good, but really it’s just thin crust pizza (as many GF pizzas are) If you like thin crust, you’ll probably like it. Personally, I like thin crust, so I enjoyed it. If you are looking for a fluffy crust, I’d recommend looking for something else. They have dairy free cheese as well - one of my family members is vegan and this is a go-to for him.
The gluten free pizza crust is not good..Great toppings and safe.
Always love Mellow Mushroom! Our daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac. So we’ve been trying lots of restaurants. The staff was amazing. Explained their GF process. We felt very confident. Unfortunately our daughter didn’t like the pizza. It’s hard to compare to the incredible chewy crust of their normal pizza and our daughter is picky. The GF crust was tough. The covered with toppings area was fine. But the crust was tough. That said, it’s an option that can work.
We love Mellow Mushroom in Brier Creek. It's very family friendly, and there are lawn games outside, which are always a big hit with my boys. My son has celiac so he always gets a GF cheese pizza. He has never gotten sick. They have a separate area for making the GF pizzas and they always deliver it to the table separately, to avoid cross contamination.
Disappointed to write this review, Mellow Mushroom is always a go-to for us for easily accessible and moderately tasty pizza. Usual caveats apply that it’s a chain, and being a pizza place it’s very difficult to guarantee safety.
We ordered 3 GF in advance, to be ready a couple hours later. I don’t know if they made them when the order was placed, but when I picked them up at the order time, they were lukewarm at best. A sad amount of sauce and cheese, and the crust was really generic. It might do in a pinch, but I can’t recommend.
The first time here, the pizza I was served was not edible and had to be sent back. They did make it right, however I ate after the rest of the table was done eating. I decided every place deserves a second chance, I went back and the pizza was fantastic, however I got cross contamination. They cook in a separate area and separate oven, however the servers pick up and serve with the gluten pizzas. As a celiac I believe she must have handled both pizzas with the same hand when she served mine. Ugh. I was sick the rest of the evening. I wish I could recommend, but I do not if you have celiac disease.
My pizza was very good despite being burnt around the edges. I had the Cosmic Karma. I am only going to speak about taste for this review bc the place was too busy and noisy for me to ask our server a bunch of questions. I just told her I have a gluten allergy and to please note it on my ticket. I did not have a reaction.
Ate here because I saw that it is certified gf and so many places haven’t taken CC seriously however it was so great I came back the next day! Yummy pizza (a typical gf crust), staff were super knowledgeable. Several of the pizzas are certified gf however they can make almost any pizza on the menu gf. Drinks were great, service was great. Definitely recommend!
