Good for Celiac. They do not have a separate kitchen, but they clean their spaces and change their gloves every time GF is ordered. They also have dedicated GF fryers, so I can get fries!! I do get nervous sometimes, but I’ve never had an issue and have been here MANY times. Only issue that happened was one time, I found a piece of Mac and cheese in my green beans. Luckily, I had not eaten them yet so I did not have any stomach problems. After that, I realized that some of the side options are all next to each other in the kitchen. The safest option that I get every time now is one of the GF meat options from the meat market with a side of GF fries.
We usually like Mission BBQ, but this time we found a mac-n-cheese pasta noodle in our baked beans after my husband ate about half of it. When we took it up to the counter, the line worker proceeded to tell us that the mac-n-cheese is GF. Um… NO! Luckily it was my husband who only eats gf for my son who actually has Celiac. Train your workers please Mission bbq, it can make people very sick!
The brisket and turkey were delicious! The green beans were a little spicy, which I was not expecting. Since there were not a ton of other GF options for side dishes, I was disappointed by the green beans. The fries were good, not great or anything unique. I liked that the employee who took my phone order wrote “gluten free” at the top of the ticket, which seemed like a good way to communicate to the prep line and made me think they may have taken extra steps that I’m not aware of.
We visited this location twice while in Canton. Both times were impressive. My son, who has Celiac Disease, felt completely comfortable eating there and had no issues afterward. The GF choices were plentiful and even included fries! He loved his meal and wishes we had a Mission BBQ close to home!
I had the most wonderful experience here last evening. This was my second time eating here, and they are very careful with your gf order, making sure to change gloves, etc. On my first visit, I ordered ribs, which were delicious, but I was afraid to try the sauces that are kept at each table, which are almost all gf, because of the cross contamination risk. Last night I ordered chicken, and the manager told me that I could have any of the sauces except the Texas twang, and I explained that no, none of the sauces are safe for me because of the cc that occurs when people might touch the sauce bottle to the buns of their sandwiches. He said that he had never thought about that before, but yes I was right this was not safe for celiacs. He said that he would bring this problem up to his general manager. He then had new clean bottles filled with the sauces that are gf brought out to our table! I was so happy and tried all of them! This made my dining experience so much better, because they were delicious and I felt safe eating them. Best of all, I did not get sick either time I have eaten here, not even a little tummy ache 😁.
Gf menu, great food. they have a separate fryer for French fries.
They offer gf options-and I ate here successfully about 1 month ago. This time, I had to remind the cashier that I said gf. He shouted to food staff, but I don’t think the message was received. I failed to double check when my order came up. Lesson learned: always double check your order.
