I usually avoid chain restaurants, but Mission BBQ is an exception. Their food is consistently good and safe. The brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and turkey are excellent, and I love their baked beans with brisket. Most of their sauces are gluten-free, they have a dedicated fryer for French fries, and the staff is knowledgeable and can answer your questions. Their sweet tea is a sugar bomb… but I can’t resist it when I’m eating BBQ!
So far I have had the wings, coleslaw and Portuguese rice. The staff is very friendly. I have eaten there twice so far. They have an allergy listing at the cashier for you to check which items are safe for your allergy. There isn't much variety but the food is good. The rice is excellent. The wings are okay
Very tasty pulled chicken. A dedicated gluten free menu and decent price. All in all glad I stopped in!
I eat here a lot when I travel. Each person I encounter is knowledgeable about Celiac, and never made me feel like a burden! The French fries are in a dedicated fryer, and the turkey is delicious! The Texas BBQ sauce is the only of the 6 that contains gluten. The food is delicious and the customer service is exceptional!
I met the founders at their first location in Glen Burnie. At that time all the sauces had gluten - even the cole slaw had gluten! Since then, they have revised the recipes and now nearly everything is gluten-free. They do have some desserts and specials with gluten and the Texas Twang sauce is still made with flour. However, gluten is now the exception not the rule, and they are careful to avoid cc.
This is now one of my go-to places. Ownership and staff listen to customer feedback and they go out of their way to cater to regulars. They also surprise random people with free meals.
The food is of high quality and everything is smoked at the store. Best smoked turkey I've ever had.
They seem to be very aware if GF and cross contamination. all of their BBQ sauces are GF but one. they are always very friendly
you do have to watch them and follow the making of your food. twice I had to send my order back bcz the gave me cornbread. they changed their gloves and made my order again.
I spoke to the manager about having a meeting about the importance of gluten free. he said they have training, he apologized for the error...then one of his employees put a brownie in my bag. he looked at him and said, she can't eat that.
I think it's time for another gluten free training meeting
I have been to this location as well as the one in Columbia, Md and they take Gluten Free VERY seriously(!) 😊 this is one place where saying you need GF doesn't make you feel like an "inconvenience" and you don't sacrifice menu selection or the deliciousness of their food just because it's GF! Their food is excellent and there service is as well!
Been there twice since they opened. Did a knock out job the first time including requesting kitchen staff clean their areas and change gloves. Second visit, communication break down must have occurred and when called up to get my order there was cornbread on my plate. They quickly addressed the problem and made me a clean order. food is really tasty and glad to have another GF option near work.
They offer pulled, pork, brisket, sausage, turkey, chicken, and ribs. Go to the checkout counter and there is a gf menu there. There are now 5 different sauces that are gf. KC is my favorite. They do not offer gf buns, but their salad greens are of good quality. The salad can be topped with meat and then BBQ sauce can be your dressing. Delish!
Ordered pulled pork and half rack of ribs. I told them i needed it to be gluten free as I have celiac disease. The cashier called out it was a gluten free order and everyone in the kitchen changed their gloves! No reaction and the food was delicious! All of the sauces are GF. Also a GF menu online. If you have any other allergies there is an allergen menu.
