Gluten friendly crust is pretty good. The staff did ask whether GF was a preference or allergy, but they were dismissive when I asked them to use ingredients from fresh containers to limit cross contact, arguing that it didn’t matter because the pizzas are cooked on a shared surface. Disappointing. Other Mod Pizza locations have been more aware.
The line cooks made my pizza with care and wrote 'allergy' on it to alert others in the process. The cauliflower crust is incredible! They warned me that the sausage has wheat in it so I did the build-your-own option and got pepperoni, ham, bacon, black olives, and mushrooms on mine. I didn't get sick and definitely found a new favorite pizza place!!!
first time trying the gluten free pizza at mod! they offer a gluten free crust as well as a cauliflower crust but i personally like the cauliflower crust, it tastes so good and they even use a different pizza cutter to be aware of my dairy allergy!! super sweet people as well! if you’re worried about cross contamination i’d say maybe to not go, as they cook the pizzas in a traditional wood oven!!
MOD Pizza has two gluten-free pizza crust options that, in my opinion, both taste great. They can prepare any pizza on the menu or “create your own pizza” with either the gluten-free crust or cauliflower crust. They can also make the cheesy garlic bread with either of those options, as well. However, they do not have a dedicated pizza oven. If you ask the employee to minimize cross-contamination, they will try their best, but they state that they aren’t able to guarantee that cross-contamination won’t happen. Make sure to tell the employee building your pizza that you want the pizza cooked in the section of the oven that doesn’t regularly cook the rest of the pizzas and when they are cutting the pizza you can ask for a “clean cut” which means they will use a pizza cutter that has not been used on other pizzas.
