The employees seemed very informed and well versed in allergy protocol. The gf bun mostly held together (the last 2 bites were difficult). The sweet potato fries are not marked gf on the menu, but the employee assured me that they are. I ate them with no side effects, and they ARE delicious. I recommend asking all the questions and being very clear about your needs, but they do seem to "get it"
Cashier was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their practices. Explained without me asking that they use seperate fryers for fries and will change gloves to prepare our order. They offer gluten free buns. The food was delicious, and my daughter had no reactions to anything. We will he eating again.
Edited for update 08/2023:
MOOYAH was a family favorite for years until we moved away in 2020. We returned to Knoxville this summer and have ordered delivery from this location a couple of times. Using their app is easy but I was unhappy to see I had to call the store to alert them of any allergies. I was pleased with both instances of how friendly the employees are and assured me that “they would take care of us, no problem”. Happy to have this as an option again. Only complaint is that some point while we were gone, they went to Udi’s buns. It definitely diminishes the experience.
Wanted to try something new for my daughter's birthday because she wanted burgers. Both she and my son had their selection on a GF bun, and I had a lettuce wrap. Burgers were really good. Hand cut fries were good but not hot. Staff was very attentive both during our order and also came to the table to check on us. I didn't give five stars due to the fries and the wrap was not as substantial as it needed to be for a double cheeseburger. But I'll be back for sure! I've been hoping for a replacement to Red Robin's inconsistent service and quality.
GF Buns and you don’t have to eat out of a bowl with damp lettuce! Take that Five Guys! My family and I tried this place just looking for something different. We have eaten here 2 times now and no issues. The burgers are amazing! You can build your own with a bun or actually have a real lettuce wrap. The fries are also good! Great place to get a good burger, just wish that there were more around.
I’m so glad I tried this place. The hamburgers on a sesame and poppy seed gluten free bun were amazing! The fries were fresh cut and fried in a dedicated fryer—and delicious too! The staff seemed very knowledgeable about their gluten free options and cross contamination. I was highly impressed and thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
The staff was careful and knowledgeable. They made sure to drop our fries in a gf fryer and took the time to double check the ingredients in one of their sauces. The burger had a gf bun with sesame seeds. It was juicy and had a yummy fresh, home grilled taste... We will definitely be back.
Update:
Double check your food well. Went back a second time & did not have a good experience with kitchen staff. Almost 30 min to get a burger & fries & in the end my burger was still missing onion & bacon. Hopefully they get it together soon.
This location just opened. I spoke to the manager. They have a dedicated fryer for the regular fries. The sweet potato fries go in a fryer with the onion straws so not safe. They have a gluten free bun that is delicious and the bacon burger was fabulous. I passed on the fries this time. They have a gluten free menu as well.
Was able to eat a delicious burger and fries without getting sick, and I'm incredibly sensitive. Everything was so tasty. It was a like pricey but so nice to be able to stop here to eat while we were on the road! All the toppings were crisp and fresh-tasting, and the fries are to die for! 10/10 recommend!
No dedicated fryer like other Mooyahs and staff not aware or concerned about gluten allergies at this location. They cook the meat on the same grill as the buns so cross contamination will happen here. Other Mooyahs in the area who have dedicated fryers and understand gluten allergies are worth the drive for safety reasons.
