The GF items are separate. The owner is wonderful and knowledgeable of gluten free, preservatives, and other food allergies. She strives to only have items with no preservatives in the restaurant. The staff will go above and beyond to answer food allergy questions, read ingredients lists, etc. We will definitely come back!! The online menu may not pist GF items, but there are many (2 Quiches, 3 types of BAGELS, 4 types Cookies, Cheesecake, 3 types breakfast muffins, 2 types struessels, etc).

Owner is great. She explained all their gluten free options and helped me figure out where else I could eat while in town. Had a great breakfast bagel sandwich and an awesome cookie. Definitely will stop here when we come back to town.

I would not recommend this place. They closed early as we trying to come in to order. Sign clearly states hrs and they were shutting everything down and locked up before time to close. They just stared at us. Very rude and unprofessional.
Great spot if you’re gluten free. Owner was delightful and can do just just about anything in the menu gluten free. Bagels, wraps, soups, and some desserts. Highly recommend the brownies.
We stopped in twice on our vacation. We enjoyed our wraps and sandwiches. The Floridian is very good. Had one of their ginger cookies which was amazing. Highly recommend this hometown eatery.

Went there today based on ratings only to find they are closed until 9/29. Second year in a row we’ve gone in Sept only to find them closed. Hope that saves someone a trip.

The BEST gluten free bagel! Got a everything with bacon and chive cream cheese! It was SOO good, the lady (I’m assuming is the owner) was very helpful with my selections. This is a super busy establishment fair warning. Worth it to me, but it gets pretty crowded in there to be so small. I will say despite being slammed, the girls changed their gloves frequently between orders without being asked. Had no reactions from the foods I was given, even with someone with me ordering non GF.

Great place!! I was very impressed with not only the delicious wrap I had but the owner. She's amazing. Really took the time to make sure I was clear of gluten. Her broccoli cheddar soup is gluten free and amazing.

Absolutely amazing food. Unsure why app says they don’t have a gluten free menu, their menu and daily specials boards are all labeled as to which items are gluten free. Gluten free bagels, cookies, muffins, quiche, soups, wraps and desserts. The owner was amazing!! She stopped everything to walk my son through all his choices and show him in the display case everything that was safe. Dedicated gluten free toaster for the bagels! Hands down recommend

Excellent! Stopped in before my long drive back and got a gluten free everything bagel with lots of toppings. It was delicious and I didn’t get sick after! Alerted the person at the front that it was an allergy and she circled my order and made sure the people knew.
The husband/wife owners had very good understanding of GF and because they make everything by hand, they know definitely what is GF. My family had bagels, their handmade cream cheese, and crust less quiche. Highly impressed!
Great deli with very knowledgeable staff, they even have a dedicated GF area. Excellent GF quiche! Very nice selection of GF items on the menu.
Love this place! I never have to worry about cross contamination.

Everything can be made gf. Bagels. HUGE rice wraps that are tasty. Nice staff at this local establishment
I was excited to see this option with good reviews in such a rural area. The staff taking my order seemed knowledgeable, showed me the dedicated prep space behind the counter. I went back to add something else to my order while they were preparing it (no one else was eating food so I know it was mine) and they weren’t using the dedicated prep space for my salad. I should have thought about it more because my husband and kids were having bagel sandwiches made up at the same time so there were crumbs around. Food was great but I started to get sick within 20 minutes of eating and I’m still running to the bathroom 4 hours later. I think this is probably a safe option when the staff use the dedicated prep space but you may need to watch them prepare it (get a seat at the bar). So upset I’ll be sick over Christmas and I’m supposed to get antibody levels checked next week so I’ll have to reschedule those.

Excellent and perfect for celiacs! Really great food and friendly, well trained staff who understand cross-contamination! Love this place.

Can't say enough things about this gem..great GF options and hearty chicken soup..my new fav spot. Plus great local folks
Knowledgeable staff, dedicated prep area- and delicious food to boot! The morning we went there were 2 crustless quiche options: chorizo poblano pepper jack and crab and swiss. My mom and I got one of each to split and they were equally fantastic. My children shared a smoothie and a yogurt bowl w almonds and fruit. Oh- and the coffee is wonderful!

Loved Mountain Perks prior to my celiac diagnosis! Once diagnosed I talked with the store owner a lot about safe practices, but sometimes would occasionally get sick. However, since the expansion and dedicated station I am so happy to have perks back in my life and be able to dine safely. Explain your allergy and they will happily accommodate. I recommend requesting your wrap on a plate if possible though because it will fall apart on you, but SO GOOD!! My favorite is “The Floridian.” Gluten Free options in Bryson City are extremely limited, so happy to have a business that has been working on accommodating and improving for years.

wonderful cafe! Lots of gf options, super atmosphere!

Excellent food and many GF options, fresh fresh veggies, GF wraps, and including some GF soups of the day and brownies. Generous portions.
Love the localness and rustic handmade furniture. Every time we eat here it takes a while to get the food but worth the wait. We always eat here when in town.

Delicious gluten free offerings, almost entire menu available GF. I had the crab and Swiss crustless quiche with a GF cinnamon raisin bagel and maple cream cheese. Crab was not "fake" crab, which shows they did their research. Great decaf mochas as well.
This place is fabulous!!! Great people great food great coffee!!! Love it!!!
Mountain perks has so many gluten free options including: bagels, wraps, crustless quiche, desserts, salads, muffins, and more. soups are always gluten free. Ingredients are high quality and local. sanitation score is 100. I am a local and eat here everyday. It's like my food safe haven! coffee is low allergen, low acid.

I asked about the GF menu and mentioned that my daughter has CD and she immediately let me know that their meats and cheese were GF, but they're blue cheese wasn't. She said they had GF wraps and bagels also and that they didn't have a dedicated GF kitchen/prep space but that they would keep everything on aluminum foil.
Yes
amazing food and staff!!! ALL wraps can be done on GF wraps or bagels....got some GF bagels too...amazing!!!! staff very knowledgable about GF...and advertised....they also have GF muffins, but didn't try....definitely worth trying...wrap was HUGE too....will difintely be coming back next time in town!!! $7.50/GF wrap, $2.50/GF bagels

Food was very good. Don't be in a hurry because it is a very slow process getting your food.

Even though it was almost closing time, they still made gluten free meals for two. They were very knowledgeable about cross contamination, and the gluten free bagels were amazing!

We found out many mountain town restaurants are either closed on Sundays or close early. We were getting desperate for dinner choices and we ran in here 10 minutes before closing - which was 4:00. They stayed open for us to get dinner to go. The owner and his wife were very knowledgeable about cross contamination. The food was excellent and the staff was fantastic.
Yes
They had gluten free bread and wraps but did not seem to understand that meats and condiments can have gluten. Not sure about cross contamination procedure when toasting gluten free bagel.
Great GF options, bagels, muffins, and brownies. Awesome service!

As someone who is sensitive to gluten, Mountain Perks offers a gluten free option for everything on their menu. I go there almost every day and am so impressed by what they have to offer in our small town. They also have the best coffee around! Outstanding service and highly recommended.
Can do almost their entire menu gluten free.
