This was my first restaurant when I moved to Colorado, and my last when I moved to my husband's duty station in California. I tried the burgers, the salmon BLT, and the fish and chips in my 2 years living in Colorado (2020-2022). Every single dish was INCREDIBLE!! I had family frequently visiting during this time and this became our go-to place because it had the classic American bar and grill food we all enjoyed.
The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating every time I ate at the tavern. The best part we learned on one of our many visits was that the owner (or maybe chef 😬, definitely someone with authority) had family with celiac disease, so there were always significant measures to make sure that GF folks got to enjoy yummy, fried foods without getting sick. There was only one instance in which there was a mix-up with my bun and it was easy to tell because my sandwich bun looked just like my aunt's non-gluten-free bun. Instead of making a fuss, the waitstaff immediately rectified the mistake, gave an apology, and our group went on with our evening.
Whenever I am ordering GF food, the North Side Tavern has inadvertently become my gauge when comparing accomodation, knowledge, and safety!
