Loved the knowledgeable staff and large gluten free selection. They even give you a gluten free bread roll so you’re not left out when everyone else is enjoying the bread and butter.
Every time we eat here they manage to screw up our order. I know it's hard to be picky but if you're going to bother with it, at least eat there rather than get takeout; you may end up waiting a half an hour but at least they can fix their mistake if they make one (they will). Whether or not the new dish is any good is a crap shoot.
I love going here! I was so happy to find a place with several g.f. meals to choose from and the staff is very good
Being new to the Gluten free world, I've been afraid to go out to eat. I came here and instantly felt at ease with the knowledgeable and caring staff. They brought out gluten free bread and dipping oil for me, I was thrilled. I highly recommend Not your average Joe's.
I was here in October 2015 for an exchange and they have a GF menu and they know a lot about celiac disease. Staff was very kind.
It's a burger joint. 3 of us ate there only one of us is celiac. I was offered gf bread and seperate dipping. Very good. But we all ordered our burgers med and came back burnt n greasy yet still pink inside. I will not return. To high priced for quality of food.
We ate here last night and the food and service were terrific. They have a huge and very impressive GF menu. Our server noticed immediately that I was looking at the GF menu and asked me if I wanted a GF roll. She brought out a delicious and very soft onion roll. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.
8/9/15 they have added GF Mac and cheese to kids menu and GF carrot cake to dessert options. 9/21/13 We've had takeout and ate at the restaurant at least a dozen times over the past year and we've had mixed experiences (missing items from takeout) but I'll bump up my rating because they appear to be improving. 10/25/12 GF rolls, separate GF menu. Not much for GF dessert except sorbet. Not much for my daughter except a burger (on GF bun). Waitress wouldn't bring out Hoodsie for her because she thought it was not GF (but it is according to Hood). 3 stars for a family 4 if you go w/o kids.
Outstanding. Probably the best GF restaurant in the Merrimack Valley.
Excellent gf options! Fantastic, knowledgable staff.
I ordered out from here and it was disappointing. The GF roll on my sandwich was stale and they forgot my sister's pizza. They also didn't give me a GF roll or oil which is why I go here.
Although Joe's offers a nice GF menu, I was not a fan of their caramelized onion rolls which is their bread alternative. My server was not very knowledgable with the gluten free options or which items of these were dairy free. Hopefully their staff will become more knowledgable and they will have other bread options soon!
I fell in love with this place instantly. I am a very sensitive celiac and was good to go here. For the first time in about 2 years I had bread and dipping oil. It was unbelievably good. They make all their own gfree bread. I had the burger with a gfree bun. Their bread and buns are some of the best gfree breads I've ever had. Burger was excellent. They had heir own gluten free menu. Just love this place!!!!!
So careful not to cross contaminate!! Give you a gf onion roll and seperate dipping oil. Food is brought over by the manager also. I had the chicken piccata with gf pasta and it was so good my mom was questioning if it was gf or not until she could taste the difference! There is gluten free done good and gluten free done right. Usually gluten free done right isn't good and gluten free done good isn't done right, somehow they managed to make it good and right! Really is not the average gluten free menu like it says!
They were great! So careful to not cross contaminate and even have GF rolls. Different shaped plates to separate too!
I was given exceptional service! My waitress was so kind, and my food was brought over by the manager. I ordered a Waldorf salad with low-cal Zinfandel dressing on the side. I didn't have the dressing, but the salad was wonderful! I was also given a a gfree onion roll (they are Gillian's brand). It was obviously microwaved, but it was still good. I was also given my own dipping oil. I didn't try it, so I don't know if it is any different from their regular dipping oil. Overall, pretty good place to eat out. Lots of options on the menu.
Love the chicken piccata with gluten free pasta. Great drinks
I love them, they are great about the gluten allergy and they use gillians rolls.
could use more gf dessert options.
One of the few places that have gluten free rolls for their burgers. Excellent staff and I will come yet again.
Excellent GF menu, and strict GF policy. The manager carried all of my dishes over while the server carried everything else, which guaranteed no cross-contamination. As soon as I ordered an entree off the GF menu, the manager came over and I asked if I wanted the GF bread & oil before my meal. Felt safe eating here, and got a great meal!
Dedicated GF menu, educated staff, GF rolls, excellent cocktails, good vibe.
I’ve seen great reviews about this restaurant, but I honestly wasn’t impressed. I don’t think the gluten free menu was very big. They advertised as having gluten free chicken parmesan, but all it consisted of was chicken with some melted cheese on top. The food was bland and lacked flavor. There are better places than this to go for gf dining.
OMG the Gluten Free bread is SO yummy! So soft, delicious and spongy... not dry and crumbly like most GF bread. The GF Chicken Piccata was Awesome!! They have a separate GF menu (orange) with lots of GF options... even Dessert! I posted photos but not sure where they went.
Appetizers, many meal selections and dessert options all gluten free. Also GF bread and dipping oil/parm cheese at the table. Waiter was very knowledgeable. Not everyone at our table ordered GF. Manager brought out all GF dishes to ensure they were correct and not cross contaminated.
The staff was very accommodating, even had delicious gluten free starter bread! Wide variety of food on their GF menu, including pastas that tasted like regular pasta. Passionate about allergies and very knowledgeable about celiacs. Would recommend to anyone gluten free or not, very good experience!
Soooooo good for celiac! We had the GF pasta 4-cheese with the sausage option. Didn’t get sick and it was good! lots, Lots, LOTS of options! A fantastic place which is cognizant of celiac and GF people!
Best GF experience ever! Very big GF friendly menu with GF knowledgeable and accommodating staff!
Joe’s has an extensive GF menu, GF bread and GF rolls (both caramelized onion), and GF pasta, however, depending on the wait staff and how busy it is, you need to be careful to ensure you meal is actually prepared GF. I have had a few instances where I have asked the staff who delivers my meal if it is both GF/DF and they were unsure about one or both allergens. Ultimately, an awesome menu but you need to be proactive about advocating for yourself.
It has been 3 months and I must say Joe’s has done an awesome job at redeeming themselves. I contacted the head office and they were wonderful at addressing the issue ( see below). I have eaten there 4 times since June. They put in the computer that I need to speak to the manager before ordering due to gluten. The manager makes sure the kitchen is aware and then he brings the food out. I don’t know if there has been a change to the kitchen, but in the past 8 months, I have had issues with cross contamination. Twice with barley in my food, which they said was due to a cutting board to close to the gluten food, and tonight I found a piece of pasta in my green beans. The manager said chances were that it was regular pasta. I loved this place and trusted them. Love the place! They actually have a menu that has quite a few choices. They seem to understand about celiac and gluten intolerance. Each time my meal was brought out separately.
An entire separate menu dedicated to people with gluten allergy/intolerance. I felt so welcome! They even have gluten free bread to snack on. My waitress was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and gluten in general.
This place is fantastic!! There is an entire Gluten Free Menu. A full menu not just salads or burgers! Chicken parm, scallops, lots of G F pasta plus lots of good sides plus desserts not just ice cream. Staff is knowledgeable about GF. And kitchen understands cross contamination. Very good will come again. Fresh food nothing canned. Prices are good considering the large portions. Will not be disappointed
My daughter, mother and myself are wheat and gluten sensitive. My daughter also has a dairy allergy. We received Excellent service. The staff was very accommodating. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. This was the best GF meal we have had eating out in a long time. Will be returning here soon.
Amazing! Our waitress was so accommodating when she found out that I was the GF one out of our party of 6. She brought me GF bread to start and even asked if I needed separate dipping oil. When I ordered she verified that it was gluten free. They even had a separate person drop off my meal and he verified again it was gluten free. I’ve never been out to eat and felt so normal! Such a great experience!
Love this place! And, the food is yummy. The carrot cake is amazing.
I've been here twice this spring and have unfortunately had cross-contamination symptoms both times. The first time I visited, my GF bread was delivered with obvious residue from the regular onion bread on the base of the roll - it seems like they may not know to change their gloves. The second visit, I opted to forgo the bread, but felt mildly ill 24-48 hours later, which is my usual response to cross contamination. I'm extremely sensitive, so those who are not may have better luck!!
The waiter brought me warm spongy delicious gluten-free buns and Parmesan dipping sauce - and I was in heaven! That alone was enough - so delicious! Then my hamburger in a gluten-free bun came, and I was so happy to enjoy that rare treat. The staff are very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They told me the fries are not gluten-free so that was a disappointment - I hope they can change that in future. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! I’ll definitely go back!
Incredibly celiac and allergy friendly. There are few celiac friendly restaurants in Woodbridge, but this is a safe place with knowledgeable staff. They have a large GF menu, and if you say you have celiac the manager/chef will probably come by or may even wait on you. Several good experiences. Did have one waitress once who was a little off her game since it was a very busy late night and slipped up with regular bread, but I checked before eating it since I’m careful, but it was a good reminder to be extra vigilant.
Amazing GF menu selection: appetizers, burfgers, pasta, dessert. Had a hard time choosing but went with 4 cheese pasta with added steak tips. Bread and dip were delicious.
We were excited to go here after reading the reviews but were sorely disappointed. The utensils and plates were dirty, our waters had floaters in them and my celiac daughter was ill right after she ate. She had the gf bread which a piece looked like it had some green mold on it (she didn’t eat it)and had a hamburger and fruit. Hamburger was not good and bun was average. Not impressed with serving staff either. Would not recommend d for celiacs.
