Loved the knowledgeable staff and large gluten free selection. They even give you a gluten free bread roll so you’re not left out when everyone else is enjoying the bread and butter.
Every time we eat here they manage to screw up our order. I know it's hard to be picky but if you're going to bother with it, at least eat there rather than get takeout; you may end up waiting a half an hour but at least they can fix their mistake if they make one (they will). Whether or not the new dish is any good is a crap shoot.
I love going here! I was so happy to find a place with several g.f. meals to choose from and the staff is very good
Being new to the Gluten free world, I've been afraid to go out to eat. I came here and instantly felt at ease with the knowledgeable and caring staff. They brought out gluten free bread and dipping oil for me, I was thrilled. I highly recommend Not your average Joe's.
I was here in October 2015 for an exchange and they have a GF menu and they know a lot about celiac disease. Staff was very kind.
It's a burger joint. 3 of us ate there only one of us is celiac. I was offered gf bread and seperate dipping. Very good. But we all ordered our burgers med and came back burnt n greasy yet still pink inside. I will not return. To high priced for quality of food.
We ate here last night and the food and service were terrific. They have a huge and very impressive GF menu. Our server noticed immediately that I was looking at the GF menu and asked me if I wanted a GF roll. She brought out a delicious and very soft onion roll. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.
8/9/15 they have added GF Mac and cheese to kids menu and GF carrot cake to dessert options. 9/21/13 We've had takeout and ate at the restaurant at least a dozen times over the past year and we've had mixed experiences (missing items from takeout) but I'll bump up my rating because they appear to be improving. 10/25/12 GF rolls, separate GF menu. Not much for GF dessert except sorbet. Not much for my daughter except a burger (on GF bun). Waitress wouldn't bring out Hoodsie for her because she thought it was not GF (but it is according to Hood). 3 stars for a family 4 if you go w/o kids.
Outstanding. Probably the best GF restaurant in the Merrimack Valley.
Excellent gf options! Fantastic, knowledgable staff.
I ordered out from here and it was disappointing. The GF roll on my sandwich was stale and they forgot my sister's pizza. They also didn't give me a GF roll or oil which is why I go here.
Although Joe's offers a nice GF menu, I was not a fan of their caramelized onion rolls which is their bread alternative. My server was not very knowledgable with the gluten free options or which items of these were dairy free. Hopefully their staff will become more knowledgable and they will have other bread options soon!
I fell in love with this place instantly. I am a very sensitive celiac and was good to go here. For the first time in about 2 years I had bread and dipping oil. It was unbelievably good. They make all their own gfree bread. I had the burger with a gfree bun. Their bread and buns are some of the best gfree breads I've ever had. Burger was excellent. They had heir own gluten free menu. Just love this place!!!!!
So careful not to cross contaminate!! Give you a gf onion roll and seperate dipping oil. Food is brought over by the manager also. I had the chicken piccata with gf pasta and it was so good my mom was questioning if it was gf or not until she could taste the difference! There is gluten free done good and gluten free done right. Usually gluten free done right isn't good and gluten free done good isn't done right, somehow they managed to make it good and right! Really is not the average gluten free menu like it says!
They were great! So careful to not cross contaminate and even have GF rolls. Different shaped plates to separate too!
I was given exceptional service! My waitress was so kind, and my food was brought over by the manager. I ordered a Waldorf salad with low-cal Zinfandel dressing on the side. I didn't have the dressing, but the salad was wonderful! I was also given a a gfree onion roll (they are Gillian's brand). It was obviously microwaved, but it was still good. I was also given my own dipping oil. I didn't try it, so I don't know if it is any different from their regular dipping oil. Overall, pretty good place to eat out. Lots of options on the menu.
Love the chicken piccata with gluten free pasta. Great drinks
I love them, they are great about the gluten allergy and they use gillians rolls.
could use more gf dessert options.
One of the few places that have gluten free rolls for their burgers. Excellent staff and I will come yet again.
Excellent GF menu, and strict GF policy. The manager carried all of my dishes over while the server carried everything else, which guaranteed no cross-contamination. As soon as I ordered an entree off the GF menu, the manager came over and I asked if I wanted the GF bread & oil before my meal. Felt safe eating here, and got a great meal!
Dedicated GF menu, educated staff, GF rolls, excellent cocktails, good vibe.
The staff is great. Have a dedicated gluten free menu. Have gluten free bread and will give you your own dipping sauce. I’ve never gotten sick eating here.
Went on Monday for lunch with 6 people including my 5 year old celiac child. Was impressed with the breadth of the GF menu. She was thrilled to have some GF bread. Unfortunately, while she was eating the GF macaroni, I realized there was a curly noodle in the middle of her GF penne. The kitchen said they think a noodle from a regular mac and cheese just accidentally slipped into her dish but I don't see how that is possible if any sort of basic precautions are being made. She woke up in the middle of the night with cramps. We will likely try another location of this chain again due to the broad options but I was pretty disappointed in their safe food handling.
It's a relief to go here, though you pay a bit more, that's no surprise. Every been several times and have always been served by the chef or very particularly by a lead server. More recently they offer a roll, which I appreciate. Pasta is great, salmon was good (a bit of an odd combo - squash, pesto, salmon), burger (yum), tried their carrot cake - they didn't let this thaw properly, it was 'ok' - a bit to sugary like some GF stuff tends to be. I don't recall getting sick, but I did have a rough morning after my most recent visit, can't be sure it was NYAJ's. I'll definitely be back there.
Twice now, I’ve been served gluten at this location. First, a burger with a gluten roll (make sure your roll has small pieces of onion, which is the GF version) and second I suspect was the pasta in the pasta al for no. Either the pasta wasn’t GF or it was cooked in the standard pasta water. They have GF options but I think they can be sloppy on the follow through. Days of suffering result!
I have never seen such a large gluten free menu offered at a restaurant before. You just have to ask for the separate menu. They even offered gluten free dinner rolls that were soft and delicious! Everyone at my table actually liked them better then the regular rolls. Waitress even gave me my separate dipping oil without me having to ask, didn't have to ask for the gf rolls either! I had a burger on a gf bun (same bread as dinner rolls) with a side of mashed potatoes. Did not get sick at all. Our waitress was awesome and was very knowledgeable. When she brought food to the table that was not gluten free (for the others with me) she made sure I knew that it was not gf. It's the little things like this that makes eating out for someone like me enjoyable again!! Thank you! Very impressed!!
Not only is the gluten free menu amazing but the servers are ALL knowledgeable about celiac and extremely helpful. We love eating here and have never had a bad experience!
staff is very knowledgeable! they're gf food is amazing! I always feel safe and full after! no anxiety or belly issues! love nyaj's! they're the best!
Great selection of food! Staff was extremely attentive! The bread and dip to start the meal! Amazing!
Good food with no issues
The gluten free menu was extensive. The waitress was very attentive of my food restriction which was very reassuring. I had a gf roll, the haddock with mashed potatoes and peas, everything was delicious and didn't get sick. I was really impressed. Would definitely come here again when I visit the Cape!
Our waitress Ashley was so attentive and nice. Totally ask for her! The GF rolls were amazing! No joke amazing! And the GF menu had a lot of options. I got the chicken caprese it was phenomenal. There was so much of it I took half of it home for dinner!
I wish I had a gluten tester like the other reviewer, because after eating here I ended up becoming VERY ILL for a long time and the only thing I could think of was they must've fed me straight up gluten. Yes, the way they behave in the front of house make you feel safe, and the gf selection is huge, but whatever is actually going on in the kitchen is NOT safe for Celiacs in my opinion. I don't think I've ever been sicker in my entire life like I was after eating here. I struggled with writing this review, but I feel like reviews like this are important because places like this are why I never eat out anymore.
My son ordered chicken quesadilla and the salmon meal. He loved them both. Staff friendly and very attentive to all allergic people.
Great gluten free menu and bread! Courteous service too. Good for groups and outdoor seating.
Excellent food and service!! New favorite place!
SO YUMMY! Best bread for the table I've ever had. They even made me a gluten free dairy free lobster roll!!!!!!!!!! Also the sorbet was amazing. However I did feel kinda iffy the next day so I am not sure if this restaurant was the culprit or not (thats why it lost its 5th star)
I'm so sorry but I'm going to have to give this rating. The menu looked great; huge gf. The food looked good. The staff was amazing. Chef and 2 managers talked to us. First dish came back with gluten after testing with Nima. 5/6 of us had already eaten. Tested next 5 dishes. All had some gluten (one was high). Tested this later with EZ gluten strips. Same result. May be from airborne flour. They are trying very hard and want to do this right but something went wrong. 4 of us had small reactions the next day but were minimum bc we only ate one thing. Could have been worse.
