We have eaten here several times and it’s always really good food! Waiters/waitresses are always knowledgeable about GF options and there are a lot of them. This time I had the Mount Chiquita breakfast tacos. The corn tortillas were soft and pliable, the food was delicious and service was great! There are often GF desserts to go in the case at the front as well!
I have celiac disease and was excited at all the gluten free options this restaurant had. Went in the restaurant ordered a BLT with gluten free bread and a side salad with no croutons. Was very adamant about that needing to be gluten free because I’m here for a wedding and don’t want to get sick. After repeatedly saying I needed gluten free my meal was brought out and looked gluten free, so I ate it and immediately started feeling sick. When the waiter came out I asked him and he disappeared quickly and came back with the manager and said he forgot to put it down as gluten free. The manager said that he did not follow any protocol for people who request gluten free. I am still unaware as to why this waiter chose not to put gluten free down when he had a pen and paper in his hand. Do not recommend this restaurant for those who have celiac, unless double checking before eating their meal.
I stopped here for breakfast after reading the reviews left here by others we stopped in and had the Colorado burrito on a gluten free tortilla, without cheese or sour cream and had the green pork chili on it. I’m gluten and dairy sensitive and this was so good no issues for me.
Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable! I’m an extremely sensitive celiac with a dairy allergy as well and had a wonderful experience! I got the Colorado breakfast burrito in a GF tortilla and without cheese and it was delicious! Server double checked with the kitchen that my food was correct after it came out, and checked on me multiple times to insure it was to my liking. Had lots of options for us celiacs and a dedicated toaster for any bread or bagel offerings. Would definitely go back!
Amazing food! Huge breakfast and lunch menu. Things are not marked on the menu but the staff is extremely knowledgeable. We are also dairy free and they were quick to tell us the home fried potatoes contain ranch seasoning. We got the hashbrowns instead. The waiter asked if I was Celiac (I am not but do have an allergy so he said he would write celiac any way. Their gf toast was my favorite!
August 2022 Love this place! Lots of options. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Estes. We both had the gluten free Colorado breakfast burrito. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

This place is always extremely busy, but my husband never has had any problems. He has the allergy, but we both eat GF. We had the Colorado Breakfast Burrito again. Very good burrito. It's a big burrito too. You don't usually get same size as others. There is an up charge for the GF tortilla. This place is well worth the wait. We will always stop there for breakfast when we are in Estes Park.
The menu was pretty clear with what items could be made GF, and my waitress was very patient with all my questions about cross-contamination. I got the huevos rancheros and they were great, I had no symptoms at all so I think they must do a good job keeping things separate in the kitchen. I'd definitely go back if in town again!
This was a great spot for breakfast! My son who cannot have gluten ordered the GF pancakes with a side of bacon. We told our waiter he couldn't have gluten and he went over the options they were able to offer GF. My son had no reactions and liked his food. When we go back, this is a place we would definitely visit again!
No GF menu, though many GF options. Yummy French Toast made with Rich's bread, and good gf pancakes. Great salads, and the Black Forest Latte was tasty. They will prepare food gluten free where possible. The wait staff may not know the details but the management does and takes cd very seriously. I go every time I'm in town. It's pricey but worth it.
Jamie,Judith, and Raul are great with celiac disease. They make sure new potatoes are cut, spatulas and gloves are changed and more. We’ve never been sick here when one of them is present. Jamie said Luis is celiac knowledge too but we haven’t met him yet. The food is fresh and delicious. We usually eat here 2+ times each time we stay.
I was so disappointed. I didn't have any gluten reaction, but the food was just mediocre. I had read the rave reviews and was excited to try Notchtop, but it definitely didn't even reach "good." There is no gluten free menu, just gluten-free toast as a substitute for hamburger buns or sandwiches bread. No dedicated fryer so that also limits the possibilities. But by far the most disappointing thing was the food. I got a Reuben and there were literally 3 shreds of sauerkraut, a slice of tasteless cheese, corned beef and loads of grease. I couldn't even finish it. My partner's food was just as bad and also arrived cold on top of everything else. If this is one of the top restaurants in Estes Park (and by the reviews, it is), I feel bad for the residents.
Loved this place! Waitress made a note that i needed to eat GF. One of the homemade soups was GF and I could get a GF wrap! I got the grilled chicken poppyseed with soup and it was so good we are going back tomorrow. So many GF options. Great service. Only open for breakfast and lunch.
Great GF breakfast! When we walked in there was a display case with individually wrapped GF cookies, muffins and brownies. We had the brownies and muffins (after breakfast) and they were delicious. My son and I (both celiac) had the GF Pancake Sampler. My son had a banana chocolate-chip banana with scrambled eggs and bacon. I had a regular pancake with over easy eggs and bacon. The pancakes are to die for! The waiter told us they have a dedicated stove/oven for GF and that anything on the menu could be made GF. He also said that the owner is GF due to an allergy. I highly recommend!
Not safe for celiacs. I brought my gluten tester and it showed gluten in the supposedly gluten free Cobb salad. This is why I don’t trust any of the reviews on here because everyone else is raving about the place.
My husband and I eat here all the time and have done takeout half a dozen times since quarantine started. The food is always delicious! The Sante Fe hash, breakfast tacos, and Texas sandwich are some of our favorite GF options. Staff has always been knowledgeable about GF and very happy to accommodate.
Absolutely delicious! I had pancakes with eggs and bacon all GF guaranteed no cross contamination. The waffles are in a fryer that’s not dedicated GF so if you’re allergic or celiac you can’t get the waffles, but the waitress was very knowledgeable and clear about that!
I love this place! They have gf pancakes (no x contamination), gf breakfast burritos, gf toast, gf omelettes. The food is extremely tasty. I had the pancake combo with eggs and bacon. They use organic, non gmo foods-the tea was even organic. The waitress knew all about celiac and which foods could be subject to cross contamination. She showed me how to be sure the pancakes were gf- they are lighter in color and you can tell looking at my husband’s gluteny pancakes. She clearly checked them. They have gf waffles, but they are made in the same waffle maker as the other waffles, so I wouldn’t risk it. The guy who brought the food out said they were gf pancakes as he put the food down. I had no reaction to the food. I will definitely be back here when we come to the area again. This is one of my favorite breakfast places!
We ate breakfast here one day while vacationing in Estes Park. There are several gluten free options, and our server was very knowledgeable. When I asked about how they handled the gluten free items she right away asked if I had celiac. She told me there was a separate toaster for the gluten free bread, and while I was hesitant to order the toast with my omelette, I decided to give it a try. I am happy to say that I did not experience any cross contamination problems. I would not hesitate eating here again.
