I went her for my birthday dinner and had a great experience. I loved that they are farm to table and adapt their menu to what’s in season. They were also incredibly accommodating to my gluten allergy. There was a separate gluten free menu which made it easy to order. The staff wad knowledgeable and I felt safe eating everything we ordered. I appreciated how they didn’t make my allergy seem like a hassle and there were an abundance of options so it didn’t feel limiting. Everything we ordered was delicious! We got a sweet potato pork belly to start, followed by spiced shrimp, stuffed quail, a wagyu steak, and finished with a delicious pear sorbet desert. Additionally, they had a great selection of non alcoholic beverages which I appreciated since I am also pregnant. The entire experience was a delight and I look forward to go again.
Very delicious! Asked whether I needed to eat GF due to celiac, which I appreciated. They gave me a separate menu and highlighted the items that were GF but were not in a dedicated fryer so I can avoid them. They marked those items with <>. The attention to detail was superb and enjoyed the meal from start to finish! Menu changes often so picture of menu might become outdated quickly.
I had a lovely meal here with a lactose-intolerant friend and our partners. They had a GF menu for me and a dairy-free menu for my friend. The GF menu marked elements of dishes that would have cc (due to a shared fryer) and the DF menu marked those that contain butter, which some DF folks can tolerate and some can’t. Those elements could be omitted or kept on the side. Since the dishes are meant to be shared, that meant that the normies could have the full version of the dish.
Needless to say, the staff was very well informed and the food was fabulous. I had no issues the next day. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Entire staff was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. They Have a separate celiac menu. Waiter Brought out new spoons and plates between dishes. He Told the table to let me get my food off the shared plates first. It was lovely and I didn’t get sick.
Cannot say enough good things about Odd Duck! This is our favorite place to go for celebrations, birthdays, etc. Their menu is locally sourced and changes a lot, but the waitstaff is so knowledgeable and they will cross out everything on the menu and note alterations to either make it safe for gluten intolerant or if you’re Celiac, they ensure no cross contamination. The food is absolutely delicious as are the cocktails! We eat here a few times a year—I have celiac disease—and have never gotten sick. The ceviche and Waygu beef is especially delicious!!
I had a very traumatic experience here.
I have celiac, had the waiter hand-edit a celiac-safe menu for me and talk through each dish/preparation in the kitchen. I did everything right.
AFTER eating the first dish I was told it was cross-contaminated. I RAN through the restaurant to the bathroom in tears, to to make myself throw up to avoid getting sick later.
I’m so devastated that somewhere who told me they were “celiac safe” did that to me.
DO NOT COME HERE if you have celiac disease.
Odd Duck is phenomenal. There is no indication on the menu of what’s gluten free and what’s not but the staff is super knowledgeable. My waitress had a good idea but took a menu back to the kitchen to have the chef mark the menu to be certain. Most things could be changed to be gluten free! It is a tapas style place so my experience with these places and GF is it’s more scary with a big group (not knowing which plates are which). Going with just my fiancé it was very easy to order all GF modifications and then his 1 dish that had gluten was easy to avoid. I felt safe eating here, the food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was very unique and cool! I will be back!
This is in general one of the scariest ways for me to eat... multiple courses coming out at different times, in a big group of people where everyone is getting a couple of bites from each dish. So I was apprehensive at best going into the situation.
Our sever was very knowledgeable and made me feel confident in ordering. My group decided to order off the gf menu except for bread, which was lovely of them. One thing that was slightly confusing was that a few items were more geared to gluten-sensitive people instead of celiac. So we asked for a few things on the side and were assured that would mean a separate plate for those items... sometimes it happened that way and sometimes it didn't. Our server was really good but it seemed to be a busy night and occasionally someone else would bring things out -- that was where things went wrong. That's why I took away the star.
I'm intolerant (not celiac) and so have some wiggle room. I found this restaurant to be accommodating and to have many delicious gf options. Menu seasonal and always changing. One of my favorites.
what a terrible idea. they call their GF menu the "celiac menu" but don't have dedicated space and use shared pans. no way I'd eat here, and I'm furious.
