This place was absolutely amazing. They have a separate fryer for their gluten free menu items. I had the gluten free beer battered fish and chips and it was delicious. I finished off with the flourless chocolate torte. The whole meal was extremely enjoyable and I felt secure in my choices.
I'm newly diagnosed as gluten intolerant, and I'm vegetarian, so dining out has been quite intimidating. I used to go here all the time before I moved to a place a little farther away, so when I saw them listed on this app I thought I'd give it a try. Our server was the bartender, and he was fantastic. I ordered a Tito's and tonic, so he offered an orange crush. When I told him about my hesitancy to do a crush because of the orange juice, he let me know they only use fresh squeezed for crushes. Sold! It was delicious. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich on gluten-free bread, which comes with french fries. I did ask to have the french fries made gluten-free to be sure they were made in the GF fryer. Everything was amazing, and I had no GI repercussions following my visit. O lordens is definitely going to become one of my regular restaurants again.
When our waitress first came over, I explained my situation and asked a fee questions. I was met with rude responses and told I was brave for eating anywhere other than my home. She told me how there is always a risk of contamination and I explained that I am not new to this and understood the risks. She was unable to give me much information about what items could be made GF except that they had a dedicated fryer and GF bread. No GF beer. She later told me she was new but it looked like they did a good job with the GF options. The meal I had was okay but I probably would not go back, which is disappointing after reading the previous reviews.
I was a little worried because they were quite crowded when we came there. It was a Saturday and there was Christmas party going on in the bar Etc. Service ended up being slow for that reason but I understood considering the packed crowd.. The waitress was knowledgeable about gluten-free and even asked if it was celiac. The hubby had the gluten-free blarney burger and fries which he said were very good and he did not get sick. We also had the steam shrimp appetizer which we split and I thought that was quite yummy. I had the Ruben but not on gluten free bread because I'm not the gluten-free one and it was tasty as well. Overall great experience considering how sensitive my husband is And he's not sick today.
Very knowledgeable wait staff, separate fryer and several GF options. Was a great experience and felt safe eating there! GF chicken tenders were ok, but the GF cheeseburger and smothered fries with bacon and cheese were amazing and something I hadn’t had in a long time! Would definitely go back if I’m the town again.
We dined here this past Sunday on our way home from D.C. The menu is wonderful.. extensive, and upper scale bar food. They have a separate fryer and I had the crab dip based upon the last review. We also had smothered fries.. most things are baked.. like the wings which we will try next time. I haven’t had a beer in forever so I tried the Red Bridge bottled beer and it was fine. (It wasn’t a hefe /: but it suppressed my beer craving. Also had the flourless torte. Service was wonderful too. We are planning our next trip back!
Fantastic options and the staff is pretty knowledgeable about what is and is not safe. I left an email suggestion to offer beer other than omission as it isn’t actually safe for celiacs. People with celiac, please learn this and help get other options on places menus, I’ve been to multiple places where this unsafe beer is all that’s available! Will go back but hope to see a safe beer next time
Delicious! Such a fun atmosphere! I felt like I was back in Europe. The owners did an amazing job at creating an Irish pub. 🍀 They have a separate fryer, so everything listed as GF on the menu is a real option! I cannot recommend this place enough! They have Magners cider on draft, too.
Thank you FindmeGF, tried this restaurant today and it did not disappoint. Ordered fried calamari, Reuben with fries and flourless chocolate torte. Post birthday treat. I will be back.
Variety of choices on menu was great. Kildare chicken was fabulous. Chocolate Torte was best I''ve had.
Great selection of gluten free food for adults and kids. Everything tastes amazing.
