This place was amazing! I had the sampler platter and added another item to it. So much food that I took 1/2 of it for leftovers. The beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs and chicken were all amazing! Also I loved their collard greens - so tasty! Highly recommend… you will not be disappointed!
Food was okay. Not a ton of GF offerings compared to other places. My mom and I shared the jalapeño poppers, brisket, potato salad and elote. "Elote" was clearly canned corn with shredded cheese.
My mom and I both had some tummy issues after, but I honestly think that was because of the spicy jalapeños.
The menu is clearly marked with what is, or can be, gluten-free; our server asked for allergies or intolerances, and the food was delicious!
We ordered takeout from OMC. The waitress helping us was very knowledgeable and informed me that they have a separate area for gluten free orders. I ordered the Time-honored classic pulled pork sandwich with the classic honey BBQ sauce and a side of the potato salad. Once our order was submitted we heard the kitchen staff yell out “gluten free order.” The food was very good and I didn’t have a reaction.
Waiter asked us right away if anyone had food allergies. We told him yes, and he informed us they have a separate kitchen area for gluten allergies. Told us not to order anything fried. Was very helpful and informative and seemed to genuinely are about our allergy. Substituted a GF bun for no upcharge. Would go back again for sure!!!
Wow! Our waitress had fabulous knowledge about Celiac disease and went above and beyond to share what was gluten free and what wasn’t. They have a separate part of their kitchen dedicated to be gluten free. The waitress brought up food allergies before I mentioned my son was gluten free. Definitely recommend!
Told waitress had celiac and she immediately noted what I could and couldn’t have - most of the meats, sauces and sides are gf. She even apologized about the lack of dedicated fryer. She explained that they had a separate area in the kitchen, would use clean gloves and utensils etc before I even asked about the gf protocols. Food was good, though the sides were a little bland. Did not get sick.
We wanted to sit outside, so you order at the takeout counter. I asked the staff there for the protocol for “gluten allergy” and GF menu items and she was very knowledgeable noting no dedicated fryer so I should avoid fried items like fries, catfish, pork rinds, potato chips, etc. All the meats are GF. 3 of 4 sauces are GF and marked as such (the 4th had beer). More items on the menu were marked GF than the online version, and she pointed them out to me. Our ticket was marked “celiac” and my food came bagged separately from the rest of my family’s and also was marked “celiac.” Staff were so helpful and kind.
There was also a kids menu not shown online.
Staff appears knowledgeable but most options are "GF by ingredients" and you should ask in-depth questions to make sure you're safe (i.e. Chipotle-cilantro sauce has a beer base that's not immediately recognized by our waiter as unsafe.)
Otherwise the dinner was delicious without sauces, and left with a box for later.
I had a great experience here. Our server Nick was helpful & very knowledgeable about celiac. They have a separate area for allergy food prep & do their best to prevent cross contamination. Another server brought my food out separately asking for the person with celiac. Used my Nima device to test the Bama Brisket Salad and no gluten was found! It was delicious. I will be back!!
Most meats are gluten free and 3 out of 4 sauces were gluten free. I had a BBQ chicken sandwich on a gf bun. It was good enough that I didn't need a sauce. Was not able to have fries, as it was not gf. I would've given 5 stars but unfortunately we were forgotten on the wait list. Was supposed to wait 45 min but waited over an hour and a half. My body was starting to crash. Our server was very knowledgeable thank goodness.
We ate here twice when we were in Duluth because they did such a great job. All of the meats are GF and all but one of the sauces. Most of the sides are gluten free and even some of the ones that weren't could be modified (the sweet potato casserole could be done without the fried onions on top for example). Servers were very knowledgeable and helpful!
Waitress was amazing and stood by the table pointing out what was GF and safe for Celiac- had the Philly Brisket, don’t remember what it was called on the menu but it was great! the Potato Salad was awesome as well! No Celiac Symptoms 4 hours later, and usually I get symptoms right away- so I’d say OMC is a hit for Celiacs!
If you don’t have your own smoker at home and you like meat this is the place for you. The potato salad is pretty good. Beans are ehhh and grits are so so too. It’s all about the meats. So good! We got the platter one with three meats and two sides. If you say you are Celiac they can prep it in a separate area. I’ve been here twice and it seems safe.
Great place, service is always great. If you like BBQ there is a good amount of smoke. I am a celiacs and so is my mom. I’ve eaten here a number of times and never gotten sick. The sweet potatoes without the pecan topping is GF. The collard greens are well worth it. Three of the four of the sauces are GF. Almost all meat is GF, one of the salads has marinated chicken that is not.
Very knowledgeable server. Prepared food separately. Gf buns brisket sauce! Delicious!
Food was amazing. I had the Henry Penney Sandwich (pulled chicken with bacon and cheddar) on a Udis bun with a side salad. They had lots of GF side choices and 3 of their 4 bbq sauces are GF. Notified wait staff that I am celiac and they prepared my food in a separate section of the kitchen.
10/10 would recommend!
There are a lot of menu items that are gluten free and the staff is informed but not experts. Be sure to ask if something is fried in the fryer as part of the dish. Example, the nachos are made in house and the chips are fried in the same fryer. If you aren’t sensitive to that contamination, you’d be in heaven here! Other than the fryer cross contamination, there isn’t too much concern eating here. Very sensitive in our house with no issues!
OMC did a great job! They explained all of my gluten free options to me and reassured me multiple times throughout our meal that what I got was gluten free. My plate was brought out first all by itself as well as they prepare it separately. I got the tacos and they serve them with corn tortillas, so yummy! I am a super sensitive Celiac and I felt great!
Servers and bartenders were all knowledgeable and reassuring (ex. server knew right away to warn me that their house-made porkrinds are from a shared fryer). Most sides and sauces are GF. Really enjoyed the pulled chicken sandwich on GF bun, and the peas and panchetta.
The staff was extremely knowledgeable. Their fries are are fried in a separate fryer. The majority of their sides are safe, and 1 or 2 of their appetizers are safe. We ordered the appetizer of the stuffed jalapeno poppers and they were excellent. For entre, we ordered the smoked meat platter to share and it was absolutely amazing. 3 out of 4 of their bbq sauces are gluten free and amazing. This was a great experience and I had no reaction during or after.
The BEST gf pulled pork sandwich ever with sweet potato mash. Delicious. All but one bbq sauce is gf.
Food was so good! Has gf buns. There are a decent amount of sides you can eat as well. The smoked meat is amazing
Lots of gluten free options. Server made us aware of what items have a possible risk of cross contamination and which items are gluten free. Also when the food was brought out advised that they made special notes on the ticket to so the cooks and the runners know of celiac precautions need to be taken. Food was delicious love being be able to eat at a restaurant and not worry about getting glutened
Staff and food were both amazing. Very knowledgeable about cross contamination and told us in what items it was possi le to have them in.
