Asymptomatic Celiac

Tried a few dishes here including beef black bean and lemon chicken. Lemon chicken was good, but beef black was lacking in flavour. My son has celiac and had no issues despite them not having a dedicated fryer. However, preferred Peking Garden (variety and taste).

We used to eat here all the time before I realized they don’t have a dedicated fryer. Super disappointing considering how many deep-fried options they have on their menu. Food is good though

Tried to order from here given their huge gluten free banner hanging outside. But then learned they don’t have a dedicated fryer and don’t suggest anything deep fried for customers with Celiac. The menu indicates most items can be made gf, but further questions determined it’s much more limited if you are Celiac and trying to limit cc. I tried to order lemon chicken, advised its fried with other gluten items and isn’t an option. Asked about the salt and pepper squid, again advised it’s fried and would not be safe. They do have gf soy sauce and said gf orders are watched carefully, but I feel they really aren’t a safe option if you have Celiac disease.

Excellent experience tonight! A plethora of GF choices available- ask for one ofThomas’ favorites! (They also can accommodate many other allergies as well!)

I could not get enough of the salt and pepper veggies!

Delicious!

Ordered delivery, everything came labeled with GF. Would note the gluten free batter is fine, but in case of chicken wings, was plain and heavy on the salt. Would order again if craving Chinese take out.

Restaurant has many GF menu items. Have never been sick from eating GF dinners here. There is not a dedicated deep fryer but we are regular diners here and always have the GF lemon chicken and have never been sick. owners do understand GF. Highly recommend.

Not celiac safe. Do not trust anything deep fried and triple ask any questions and if you can to several different people

There is no separate fryer, so you must avoid anything deep fried as it would not be safe for those with celiac disease.

Any deep fried items are not celiac friendly as they do not have a dedicated fryer... Walking in we were assured all starred items were safe but upon asking more questions we felt the understanding of gluten free was not really good enough for celiac therefor walked across for a pizza at our fav place

Ownership of this restaurant changed over 1+ years ago when Douglas & May sold it. I tried dining here months later to find that they use the same WOK for cooking Gluten Free and regular food/meals containing gluten. Further questions by me left me wondering if they really understand Gluten Free preparation and cooking and its impact to people with Celiac Disease?

Based on this actual experience and the answers I received from the new owner at the time, I will NOT be dining here as I have Celiac Disease and cannot risk eating any Gluten.

To my knowledge this restaurant has not been re-certified for Gluten Free dining by the Calgary Celiac Association.
