Staff was able to discuss the celiac protocol. There is a separate menu. The dessert was AMAZING- warm chocolate pecan brownie with chocolate fudge, ice cream, and whipped topping. It was 1500 calories, but it was worth every calorie!
I told the staff that I needed gluten free. The owners daughter is also gluten free, which makes what happened really surprising. I ordered a salad with no croutons. I ate about half of it before finding a crouton on the bottom.
I had a really nice experience here! I ordered the grilled chicken and my mom (also celiacs) ordered a sirloin. I’m also dairy-free so I asked for my chicken with no butter. The waitress accidentally pressed the wrong button so the manager came out to talk to me and told me they were remaking the chicken. Once I got it, it was very juicy and tasty.
We ate at this particular location a few months back and somewhere along the line, I consumed gluten, as evidenced by my quick body response. We went back a week or so ago and I had my staple (Alice Springs chicken) and an alcoholic beverage (of which I did copious phone/Internet research because I'm one of those that can't have distilled beverages if the starting grain is gluten-containing). I'm happy to say I was not cross-contaminated this visit and our waitress took excellent care of me. Outback is almost always a safe place for me to eat and instances of contamination are very few for me. If I'd gotten sick a second time here, I probably wouldn't go back.
Great little gluten free menu. My son had the 6oz sirloin with a loaded baked potato and he was in heaven and ate all of his food. I had a 9oz sirloin with mashed potatoes. We then both got the desert “chocolate thunder from down under”. So good we will be back. Very knowledgeable about gluten free items. My son has Celiac Disease and I have EoE. Felt very comfortable eating there. Thank you 😊
They try, but too many issues. Got a salad and the dressing had a crouton at the bottom of the bowl. Not saying it was intentional, but either there was a crouton in their main dressing container or it fell into the bowl when they poured it. Neither make me confident.
Had a very nice meal here a couple of nights ago, they have quite an extensive GF menu so you don’t feel like you’re missing out. waiter himself admitted he wasn’t knowledgable about what was gluten free but he was careful to put my meal through following their procedures and my food was brought out separately to the rest of my party by a manager. One star knocked off because of the waiters limited knowledge but overall they know enough to keep you safe.
Found a crouton in the salad dressing not just once but twice (the replacement also had a crouton in the dressing). Turns out the croutons are located directly above the dressing vats and fall in. Recommend asking for the dressing to be poured directly from the container instead of the vat on the salad line. Specify that your ticket should be an allergy ticket. It is supposed to be treated differently but in my case was not. Ask for a manager to handle your ticket.
Sick before I left. My meal was messed up and I returned it and when I asked if the replacement was gf she replied “they all are”, which tells me they aren’t taking cross contamination seriously. Won’t be back
The Outback Steakhouse takes safe gluten free food very seriously. My waitress provided me with a GF menu and there were quite a few options. I had the chicken/ribs platter with mashed potatoes and it was delicious! The portion was good. I also indulged in the GF brownie which was amazing. Don’t leave without trying it!!! The waitress reassured me it was safe (because it was so good I had to ask...twice 🙈)! Would definitely return!!
I called before coming here and the manager told me he had celiac! I told our waitress and she knew exactly what I meant and informed the kitchen. We were celebrating my birthday and they brought us their gluten free dessert on the house!
Gluten Free menu and great choices. Had the Victoria filet with a baked potato. My salad was without croutons. Then, we had the thunder from down under... who knew that is GF. So yummy. No ill effects and happy to have a delicious meal.
I was a bit worried after some reviews, but our experiance was wonderful. My husband has celiac and my daughter has an anaphylactic allergic response to garlic. The kitchen manager came out and personally addressed our issues. They went to far to cook both meals in tinfoil pans they made. I was very inpressed with the detail they spent on our meal
Let me start by saying none of us got sick- yay While the steak was excellent, the salmon and the chicken were over cooked we should have sent them back but the kids were hungry so we dealt with it. The chicken was also spicy- we weren’t expecting that. Dessert was yummy so all in all not too bad. Next time we’ll stick with the steak
Not the best tasting steak dinner out there but we were hungry after seeing a show, and this was open at 11pm - I had zero issue with x-contamination & was sure to let my server know my needs. had potatoes, green beans & sirloin ... happy celiac belly afterwards :)
Great food! Our waiter Adam was very knowledgeable of CC, & assured me that the chefs would change their gloves & that the have a safe dedicated cook space. I enjoyed the filet mignon & lobster tail with mixed veggies & mashed potatoes. For dessert, their only option is the chocolate thunder from down under, a delicious warm gf walnut brownie with ice cream & whipped cream. So delicious! This place is one of our go to’s!
I placed an order for pickup. I was a little nervous because the online gluten free menu didn’t indicate whether the recipe had been altered to make the entree gluten free. I just indicated celiac disease in the special instructions. The takeaway manager was super knowledgeable about celiac disease and, unprompted, assured me that all precautions were taken to eliminate cross contamination.
The server was not knowledgeable at all with the term Celiac Disease so I told her my son can't have anything with gluten. She still didn't seem to get it, but once she came back to the table, she seemed a bit more informed (suspect she went and asked). She said his meal will come out by itself, which it didn't. He had a filet and baked potato and thirty minutes after eating, his stomach began hurting. On top of that, my husband had broke glass in his chicken meal, which he discovered only after biting down on it. I heard it crunch as he bite down. Very scary.
