Me and my boyfriend eat here practically biweekly and I’ve never gotten sick other than some tiny bit of bloating sometimes. Love that they have a separate GF menu. I get filet mignon with broccoli and baked potato or the chicken with the cheese and bacon. I let waitress to tell chef I have a “gluten allergy” - easier than explaining celiac.
Outback is a fun restaurant if you aren’t a cilac. Every time we have gone there we usually bump into a gf mixup. Sometimes they get it right but sometimes they don’t.😾😼I will List it as cilac friendly but it is not the best option for gf food on Staten Island
They seem like they know what their doing when it comes to glutenfree
We all ordered from the separate gluten free menu and I extra pointed that out to the waitress. My celiac son ordered sirloin and shrimp- and his shrimp was on his plate on top of a dinner roll (delivered by a good runner, not our waitress). I quickly removed it and wiped off that side of his plate. The waitress took it back and brought out just shrimp on a plate.
But that should NOT happen when everyone at the table has GF menus and has pointed out that we all HAVE to be GF. Makes me distrusting of what happens in the kitchen.
Other than that, food was over seasoned and broccoli and sweet potato overcooked.
This is a great place to go if you’re looking for a bit of a nicer night out they have a dedicated GF menu in restaurant
I haven’t been to an outback since before I was diagnosed celiac. The good news is that I safely ate here and did not get sick. The bad news is the food kind of sucks. So I’m gonna mark this with a five star just simply because it’s safe to eat, but just know that not as good as some of the other places in Hot Springs.
