Idk why I even stopped here. From experience, it's never good and I should've used my better judgement and kept on driving. Everyone was having issues. The table next to us had to send their steak back twice, both times coming out cold and completely raw. They were told there was a new kitchen manager, and he didn't heat the grill up enough. The table across from us had all of their food brought out except their little boy's plate, and they waited a good 30 more minutes for his food. Our experience was bad from the start. We waited 10+ minutes before being greeted by a server. By that time, we knew what we wanted. I ordered off of the gluten free menu, a 6 oz sirloin medium well topped with blue cheese, a baked potato with butter only, and broccoli. When my food finally got to the table (not sure how long it was, but it was quite a while), my potato had sour cream instead of butter and my steak was completely raw. Our server apologized and said steaks had been coming out undercooked all night. She took it back to the kitchen and it came out again about 10-15 minutes later, still bleeding. I told her again it was still raw. She took the steak, leaving the potato and broccoli for me to eat. They comped the steak off, but I guess decided it coming back twice was enough because I wasn't served another. Instead, she brought us out the check. We paid, but she didn't bring back the receipt that had what we were charged for. Just the receipt to sign. I'm pretty sure they literally just took the steak off, and charged me for a side of broccoli and a baked potato. When we asked for a copy of the original receipt, no one came back out, so we just left. There was another table sat next to us, waited about 20 minutes before they just decided to leave because no one had greeted them. This place is a train wreck. The server was nice, but you could tell she was very irritated, and I don't blame her. The kitchen staff needs a total do-over. Thankfully I don't live in this area so I'll never be back. We were literally here for a total of almost 2 hours.
I had a great experience there. the server I had was very knowledgeable and celiac and made sure that the staff switched gloves while handling our food. I felt very safe eating there. will definitely go back.
great options. friendly staff. eaten off the gluten free menu twice now with no issues. looking forward to going back :)
We have had positive experiences at all Outback locations. They are very accommodating. Food is always good. Sometimes kitchen staff tends to not read restrictions and will add butter and bread on the plate anyways but our server kept watch to ensure it was corrected before coming to us. They take accountability for their errors and make up for it. Great customer service.
Ordered the ribs $ chicken dinner with loaded baked potato from gf menu. My meal was so good! Been many years since I've been to an outback. Waitress answered questions I had about cross contamination concerns. I learned manager is only person who cooks and handles food allergy orders here. Great place to dine!
We compete here often and as always, you have to tell them immediately but they are usually very good at taking care of you. You would think it would be cheaper to eat Gluten Free at home but my Son is highly allergic to Coconut and our grocery bill is deplorable. They treat us like family and only have a problem once out of 9 visits and they corrected immediately. Just make sure on meat and baked potatoes that they use Salt and Pepper ONLY and NOT their seasoning packets.
We have eaten here several times successfully. My son is a very sensitive celiac, so we all order gluten free to keep the residue off the table. The first time, the manager came out and said his sisters are celiac, so no worries. We really had a great experience, ordered ribs, baked potato, and gluten free chocolate thunder brownie. No ill effects. The second time, we had to tell the waitress twice not to bring the bread and I am pretty sure that she is the reason my son did get sick that time. The waitress just didn't understand. We will still try again, because the gf food is delish, but make sure to get a wait staffer in the know.
Most accommodating place for gluten free people. Separate menu that actually looks like a menu and it seams like staff is trained in gluten sensitivities/allergies. To top it off they have some gluten free desert options. Been there a few times and never had an issue.
Went there on Mother's Day and then today on Father's Day. The manager (Megan) was fantastic and the owner even made our son's salad himself. The owner and the manager both came and checked on our meal throughout our time there. We don't eat out much due to our son having Celiac, but having gone to this Outback twice with no issues, we will be going back. Our waitress worked with the manager to ensure that every precaution was being taken to avoid cross contamination.
They had a decent sized GF menu, but I got a little tummy ache when I got home for the night so I suspect there wasn't a gluten dedicated cooking area used. I'm not celiac so for me it'll only be some light aches, but just a heads up about those who are sensitive.
In the past Outback has been a staple for places to eat when traveling, however the gluten free menu has gotten smaller. At this particular location, the staff didn't seem well informed. They were very polite and nice and they knew they had a gluten free menu but that was about it. After all was said and done, we did get sick after eating there.
My husband and I have gone to the Outback several times over the past few years. They have a dedicated GF menu and their staff are incredibly well trained. Our meals are always delicious and I don't have to question if they are safe or not. Reasonably priced as well.
I just wanted to comment about policy at this Outback. I asked for and received a GF menu w/o any hesitation. My server took my order from the GF menu. Another person delivered my salad and announced that it had no croutons. then a third person delivered my meal and again announced it was GF. It is follow through like that , that gives you confidence that your food was handled properly.
Large gluten-free menu with lots of options. The staff is pretty knowledgeable. I have Celiac and went out to eat with my family here; I did not get sick.
I have a newly found love for outback! not only is their steak and sweet potato with butter and brown sugar DELICIOUS, but they are very careful about ensuring gf. my meal was brought out with the bourbon glaze on top of my steak, which was NOT gf, but the manager immediately cane out and apologized and had a whole new plate made for me. while I was starving when my friends enjoyed their dinner, the manager and waitress were very apologetic and helpful.
We LOVE eating gluten free at Outback. We typically order the "chocolate thunder from down under" brownie dessert for our appetizer because it is so incredible. They have a great gluten free menu and we've never had an issue with cross contamination in the 10+ times we've eaten there. (My wife has celiacs and is very sensitive) we usually get the Alice springs chicken and a simple sirloin and share them both. Ooh and the Caesar salad is great too. (Without croutons)
My husband has Celiac. we ear at th u still Outback when we come to Charleston. as long as he doesn't eat the salad, he does not get sick, so he gets an extra side instead of the salad. I don't know what the problem is with salad, but I would not recommend it
