Update, I got glutened!!
Our server was amazing, her best friend has celiac and she understood everything. And, the food is just OK. I got the filet mignon, with the red potatoes and the succotash. As well as the Caprese salad. I would never go again, the flavors just weren’t that impressive.
Visited last week. They were very busy and appeared to be short staffed, which is no problem, but the floors were quite dirty. No gluten free menu but they were able to modify whatever I requested. They did proactively ask if cross contamination was ok, which I appreciated. All the items I ordered came with a purple stick indicating my allergy. I ended up getting sick, but in retrospect, one item didn’t come with the purple stick. I ordered red skin potatoes as a shared side and didn’t think anything of the lack of allergy identification until later that night when I wasn’t feeling well. I’ve eaten here before with no issues, but it the food wasn’t anything to write home about, so that plus me probably getting flattened from those potatoes means I won’t likely be back. There’s are lots of other options in Disney Springs.
The restaurant is located at Disney Springs at The Landing. No GF menu at the restaurant but if you go on the Disney website or app, you can view the menu and it clearly states the menu items that are GF. I have been here before for dinner and I did not see the scallops on the menu. Server informed me the scallops are only on the dinner menu and I was there for lunch. She spoke with the chef and he agreed to make them for me but the cauliflower purée was not ready so they will give me more vegetables. Everything was delicious! My food came out separately with an allergy pick. Had a table overlooking the water with a beautiful view! 2nd time back and it was another great experience!
Love that at Disney Springs the waiters all greet you and then ask about allergens or sensitivities. There is no marked menu or GF menu items listed. You have to ask about items. I chose a few things that looked promising and then asked the waitress. If she didn’t know she asked the chef. I chose crab ceviche and a side of green beans because I needed some veggies after vacationing for a few days. There is NO dedicated fryer so the tortilla chips were not safe — they substituted cucumber slices (very thickly sliced) and it worked well and tasted good. The beans were fine as is. The food was good but there are other restaurants with more options for the celiac.
Have celiac & do not eat dairy. Had a filet, asparagus, roasted potatoes. Excellent food & staff very knowledgeable & attentive to celiac concern. Had beautiful view of the water. Would reccomend & dine there again.
Our waitress was very helpful. She herself has gluten sensitivities. She helped me pick what is safe and what is not safe. She even stated what sauces are safe and what are not! I got the Filet Mignon and mashed potatoes. It came out with an allergy stick. I did not get sick and it was absolutely delicious
Server was attentive, inquired about sensitivity in terms of asking whether we needed cross contact precautions or not (they use a shared fryer). Modifications required to replace tortilla chips with cucumber due to no dedicated fryer for chips. (Appetizer: crab ceviche) No modifications needed for main (scallops) Entrees come marked with allergy wooden indicator. Yummy food.
Great place, good food but not a lot of gluten-free items. I did enjoy the fish tacos in a romaine lettuce leaf because they didn’t have corn tortillas. It was a nice change from the typical tortilla, fish had great texture and flavors, I think using the lettuce leaf elevated the freshness of this dish. I will try using romaine lettuce instead of tortillas for my other tacos. Staff was knowledgeable about gluten allergy but if there was a question they couldn’t answer they spoke with the chef.
Overpriced food with very limited gluten free food. Only gluten free food was chicken breast, salad, one appetizer crab fries, and seafood. Very disappointing. My grilled chicken was also over cooked and dry and food service was super slow blamed on the kitchen switching over from lunch to dinner menu. Won’t be back.
They do not have a designated fryer, allergen menu, or any gluten-free bread items. The cooks can make stuff to order, but it would be risky if you have an allergy. It would only be fine if it was not an allergy but a preference.
Worst restaurant and service ever. Told me I could have the crab fries as long as I didn’t mind some cross contamination. Nothing on the menu is marked Gluten Free, didn’t send out a chef, say they have a dedicated fryer and they don’t. I ended up with the scallops and they were very fishy tasting. I will never go back and recommend others to say away.
Excellent food and superior service two nights in a row. Our daughter has celiac, so safe gluten free dining is critical.
Chef came out to discuss GF options with us. Highly recommend the crab fries, lobster guacamole, king crab /snow crab, shrimp, mussel - seafood boils and flourless chocolate cake. Be specific with your server to make sure that cornbread is not included with your seafood boil (standard to include it).
Our daughter is extremely sensitive and did not have any issues from Paddlefish food on either night.
Waiter was great, brought out the chef we discussed my allergy and chose a good option minus the corn bread. The food was brought out by a runner with the corn bread on top. I explained that I had a gluten allergy and that I would need a new meal made. He apologized, said he understood and would have a new meal made. He came back in less than two minutes and stated this was a new plate. Upon inspection, there were several crumbs of cornbread that were removed but one big one remained.
The manager apologized and comped our meal and offered to have it remade. He did everything right, but I can not trust the restaurant and am unwilling to take the risk.
It wasn’t the mistake, it was the lie and cover up that is stimulating the poor review. Go to boathouse around the corner instead.
