Great venue found by my wife on a recent visit to San Antonio. I had a separate GF menu that was extensive, so I could enjoy a lot of the food on the main menu.
When food was brought to the table, it was announced as gluten free, which always gives me confidence as I do t have to ask.
I had ceviche and enchiladas, which were amazing.
A 10 min drive from the centre of the city to Alamo Heights, which seemed a nice neighbourhood too - it felt like a really popular local spot.

I have eaten here several times without incident. The servers all seem very aware and they do talk with the cooks and confirm the potential of cross contamination.

Excellent experience. Had the green enchiladas—yum! GF menu has several selections. Manager and staff were very helpful and understand the safety protocols to prevent cc. Highly recommend.

Decent gluten free menu. However, when I am looking at a gf menu and have said I'm celiac I would expect when you put down the chips and salsa you would tell me the chips are NOT gf and offer to get gf chips. I had to ask - good thing I did.
Also- sour cream not gf and has to removed from an enchilada to make the meal gf?
Disappointing from a Mexican restaurant. Also tostados and house tortillas not gf?
Taste was awesome for what we had

Had delicious enchiladas here. Also I asked for baked chips (instead of fried) with the queso. Yum! Didn’t get sick.

Ask for gluten free menu (regular menu that shows how to make each dish gluten free with bold instructions). Also, ask for the gluten free baked chips - the regular ones they bring to the table aren’t GF. Our waiter brought me my own salsas too. The only fajitas that were safe were chicken, I was hoping for the gulf shrimp but the chicken was still delicious!

Have been coming for years. Terrific food and excellent gluten-free options! I always get the enchiladas verdes. They have separate gluten-free chips that you need to ask for (the ones they bring to the table have gluten unless you ask for the gf ones). Ordered takeout from here many times during pandemic and have never been sick. Delicious margaritas. Highly recommend!

First, the pickup was 25 minutes late.
Next, none of the meals were labeled. Had to use process of elimination.
Third, we ordereda party platter of cheese enchiladas. Nowhere was it apparent that this meant we would have to cook them ourselves. There were no instructions on how to do this...
As far as GF considerations it seems to be alright and our platter meals were delicious.
We'll probably give them a second chance next time we're in town.

The food here is seriously delicious. My BFF lives in San Antonio so I’ve visited here quite a few times, I have celiacs. Every time I have eaten here it’s been so yummy, and they’re always super careful with ensuring my food has no cross contamination. Great drinks as well! I definitely recommend.

Yummy food for great prices. I didn't get sick, and I'm pretty sensitive. Chips and salsa was really good!
Yes
The waitstaff is very knowledgeable about Celiac. They have a separate gluten free menu. They have separate chips that are safe. Be sure to ask for the Celiac safe chips. The salsa is delicious. We also had an amazing poblano soup. I didn't love the margaritas, but the food, atmosphere, and staff were great.

I have been eating at Paloma Blanca for years... They are always very considerate regarding my disorder and I have never had a negative issue in regards to cross contamination etc...
I frequently get there chicken soup with rice, enchilada Verdes with chicken, gluten free chips and tortillas...
Yes
Separate gluten free menu, and they have gluten free dedicated fryer tostadas available as well. Normal chips are not gluten free but the gluten free chips are just as good. I am sensitive celiac and have eaten at Paloma more times than I could count. Staff has been generally very knowledgeable regarding their menu. Note: Mexican rice and refried beans are NOT gluten free but they have good substitutions.

Ate lunch here, and their gluten free menu is large. I had the chipotle chicken because it came in a cream sauce and that is a rare option when avoiding gluten. They brought warm gluten free chips. I don’t think they were house made but not sure. Although the waiter wasn’t the friendliest in assuring that things were gluten free, it seemed to be such a well established routine there that it felt safe considering the research I did before eating there.
Yes
Dedicated gluten free kitchen, wait staff very familiar with celiac disease. Dedicated dryers for chips, one of the most celiac friendly restaurants inSan Antonio.
Yes
Amazing flavorful gluten free food. Our waitress knew exactly what Celiac Disease was. She brought out the gluten free chips in a white bowl to eat with the salsa. The house margaritas are gluten free and delicious! The guacamole was super fresh and our main meals were downright delicious. I felt completely safe and would definitely recommend this restaurant to someone with or without celiac disease.

Our waiter, Frederico, was very knowledgeable and I felt safe with everything I ate. They even brought different GF chips to the table! Absolutely recommend and we will be back.

They have a dedicated gluten free menu with lots of options. Make sure they bring gluten free chips (warm and so yummy!) and you can eat the salsa that comes to the table. I’ve had their fajitas and the corn tortillas come in a different color (red) container vs the flour ones (Brown). Be vigilant about making sure they understand you’re gluten free. Most servers have been great, but I’ve had a close call twice, so it’s always best to just stay on top of it. Never gotten sick and tasty food! Make a reservation, they’re usually very busy.
Yes
Make sure when they offer house chips you ask for them to be GF. Even though I asked for a GF menu they brought gluten corn chips. Very extensive GF menu. Enchiladas were delicious..staff was great.
Yes
Had the tableside guacamole, the verde cheese enchiladas, and the gluten free chips were awesome....margaritas are gluten free as well.....a must visit when in San Antonio. The gluten free chips are better than the non gluten free. Sad to say though the queso dip is not gluten free

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. They have a great variety of options. My fav are the enchiladas verdes and the plantain chips.

Excellent! Big GF menu.

Have eaten here 2 times when in town with friends. GF menu available & staff is knowledgeable. Food is made from scratch! Local favorite too! Enjoy!!
I have eaten here twice and loved it both times. However, I will say that my experience was different the second time with a different waiter (hence the four stars). The first time (lunch), Ruth was my waitress and she was PHENOMENAL. It was the first time I'd eaten at a restaurant since finding out I have to be GF that I felt like a VIP instead of a burden. The second time (dinner), another waiter served us and while he was friendly and accommodating, he simply was not as knowledgeable about gluten and gluten free items on the menu. I would definitely ask for Ruth, but if she's not available, this is still a great place.
This place is delicious
The service, the food, the Redbridge gf beer!!!!! All amazingly excellent. It's not often that I can enjoy a meal out. Today, I indulged. Ask for Ruth. She was lovely an knowledgeable of the menu and gluten free options. Did I mention that they HAVE a Gluten Free Menu??? They do!
Amazing GF Mexican food! Separate Chips & Salsa, friends said the GF Chips were better than theirs. Enchiladas Verde were flavorful, fresh and hot. Little bit of a wait, but well worth it.
Yes
We have eaten here at least 20 times and haven't gotten sick. They have GF corn chips or plantains. Large GF menu. Paleo menu, too. Ceviche is the best I've ever eaten. Ask for Ruth if you go there. She's been the best server so far when it comes to ordering gf.
Very extensive GF menu. The waiter asked me if I wanted "celiac" chips when they brought out the chips and salsa :) Very good food and busy restaurant!

Very gluten free friendly.

Our waiter, Edson, took great care of us! Ordered caldo de pollo. Did not get sick and enjoyed my dinner.

Cross contamination is an issue here! I was sick before I even walked out of the restaurant. I didn't care for the enchilada sauce.

Our favorite Mexican place in San Antonio! We've eaten here many times and I've never been sick. Highly recommend.
Yes
The atmosphere and outdoor patio was lovely and very friendly service. Gluten free menu and server seemed educated and followed through on communication with the chefs. Chicken enchilada was quite tasty as was the salsa! The tamal was dry and lacked flavor and the gluten free chips were stale and bland. I'd go back for the enchilada or try an entree but I'll take my own chips next time.
too much cross contamination potential to be safe
No
Best enchiladas ever! A little pricey, but great for lunch!
Has gluten free menu, but you must ask for special tortillas that aren't very good. Had two okay experiences with slow service
What a fabulous restaurant with a huge, dedicated gluten free menu that goes the extra mike to indicate "celiac" safe. The food was incredible, prices reasonable and service impeccable! Moses and Oscar were especially personable. The menu featured favorites like enchiladas and flan but had others like table side guacamole and celiac safe chips and salsa. Great place!!
